Over the river and through the FUN!

Merry Christmas, MeMom et al! I love the T-Rex pictures!

Isabella Marie will be here the first part of April. Brooklynn has dubbed her Bella Rie. It was a lot of fun to look at all the little girl matching outfits the other day, and we'll enjoy that to some degree while they're little. Jill won't overdo the dressing alike thing, but sometimes it will be sweet to have them dressed alike or coordinating. I sense some very cute pictures coming in the future! How exciting! Its obvious how much you love Brooklynn so I know Isabella will be showered with just as much love (and Disney) as she is. And it is without a doubt that cute pictures will be on their way!

We enjoyed having our Disney touches. The girls appreciated it more than the boys. The boys have just learned to deal with it!that's because girls are smarter

I can only speculate on the decorations.
Last Thanksgiving, when the boys and I went in mid-November, many Christmas decorations and the Osborne Light Show were up and running. This year, they moved the dates back several weeks. I know there was a lot of talk from disappointed people who had scheduled November trips to be able to see all the Christmas stuff and still get back home for the holidays. To be safe, and to see it all, you probably can't be guaranteed anything until Thanksgiving. A CM PMed me about the Jingle Jungle Parade and said it was starting the Saturday before Thanksgiving this year, so I was really happy to hear that. So theres probably nothing definite for next yr as far as timelines go...although I could always call/email and ask :confused3

I'm sure part of it is the economy, but from what that security guy told me that time at POFQ, a lot of changes were already on the table for the next three years. Maybe they foresaw tough economic times. So, I guess some of the cutbacks were planned already, and then some are due to staying alive in a financially tight world. You know things are bad when DISNEY is having financial troubles...there were so many families this year who had to tell their children that Santa was on a budget, its so sad :guilty:

On the bright side, though, as I am hearing of cuts, I've also been reading of some new things that will replace old things, so that's good. Maybe it won't be as bleak as some people might think. They'd really have to make a ton of cuts for it to start getting bad, because there really is so, so, so much to the whole of Disney World!new things would be amazing!

If you want to see Christmas things for sure, you probably should book for later in the year and just plan on dealing with the crowds in ways Disers know how to do. The only reason I was wanting to go before Thanksgiving is because my BF's birthday is on Nov 22nd. Thanksgiving is on the 26th in 09 so maybe we'll be in luck. I would just like for him to be able to take advantage of all the things Disney is offering for their celebration promotion when you go to the parks on your bday.

:santa: Merry Christmas MeMom, Jill and family!

Thank you so much for all the info too, I appreciate it so much! Hope your day was great :goodvibes

im so happy for you

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas MeMom and Family!

Merry Christmas MeMom!!! :santa:

I love the DTD Christmas decorations! They are so festive!

Same to all of you! I hope it was a nice one!

I HOPE ALL OF YOUR FAMILY IS HAVING A GREAT DAY!

I'm sure Santa delivered a wonderful present to the beautiful Brooklynn this morning, and she is all smiles today.

Lexi woke me up at 6am, "Santa came...Santa came".

I am glad the fast pace is over for another year at work, people were still shopping last minute yesterday. I have to admit I stopped for a few gift cards for Aaron at McD's and Subway, after I got off work yesterday.

Yipee!!! You get your March trip!

I wish I could tag along, August seems so... soo... far from now. I even looked at prices this afternoon for Feb/March but I don't think I can come up with the $$$$ so soon after Xmas. I am toying with the idea of going for longer than 8 nights.

Wasn't the WDW Parade so fun to watch today! I wished I could be there until, I saw the crowds. I enjoyed all the people in Mickey hats, so cute.

I can't wait to see the new "Celebration" parade in 2009.

Thanks so much for the DTD shopping pics, you made my day. The window displays were fantastic. I don't mind the blurry ones, it's not a problem for me. I'll take whatever I can get. :rotfl:

So if you had to choose - POP or ASMusic? I need your help.

It will be nice to see new parades and new Celebrations themed items.

Pop and Music both have good things about them. We like Pop in the summer and really Pop overall, because we're very used to it. We like Music in the winter, and we like Music a lot for several reasons. Music is, as of right now, brighter and cleaner than Pop inside the rooms. The walls have been repainted, and the bedding, curtains, and shower curtains are all new, and you can tell it. Even Trent commented on how much fresher the rooms seemed - not as rundown as at Pop Century. Music has a lot of activities out by the pool, and from everything I've seen, a wonderful staff of young people running it all. I've seen them do nothing but seem like they're having a lot of fun with the kids. The night time movie is a plus, too. Music had the nice curtain already at the sink, and it has coat hooks on the room wall, and Pop had neither of those.

We're booked for Pop for our March trip, because my friend, Kay, has been wanting to try it out, since she's stayed at two of the All Stars and only visited Pop. We're booked for the summer for Pop, because that's definitely our summer home. (I wouldn't mind having Old Key West for a summer home and Wilderness Lodge for a winter home, but alas, a lowly school teacher does not have the means to fulfill such dreams! :) ) On our December trip, I imagine we will either be back at Music, or possibly go to Movies again, if they refurb it between now and then. It was pretty run down, too, when we were there in March.

Merry Christmas again, MeMom and everyone!

I watched the Christmas parade and got so ridiculously excited when I saw Main Street and the castle. It's so much nicer watching the parade when I know that there is a trip coming up.

I love your pics from the T-Rex restaurant and the Build-a-Dino. I might do that on our trip, and Kailyn said that she might like to, too.

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas!

We're days away from January, which touches February, and that's when you'll be there, so it is time to be excited!!!

I was looking at all the buildings on Main Street and doing a Brooklynn - "That's my Casey's!"...and that's my everything else!

Merry Christmas, MeMom et al! I love the T-Rex pictures!

My pictures did not do it justice at all. I have to go back and do better in March. It was very crowded in there, so I couldn't stop to focus. I had to keep moving with the masses.

If you want to see it pretty good, go to youtube and put in Disney T-Rex Opening Day, and you'll see video of it with the dinosaurs moving. It's pretty cool.

Merry Christmas MeMom, Jill and family!

Thank you so much for all the info too, I appreciate it so much! Hope your day was great

Merry Christmas Memom and family!!!!!

Merry Christmas MeMom, BrooklynnsMommy and family! :santa:

Merry Christmas! (Sorry its a day late)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you, as well! I hope you have spent time with those you love and have made wonderful memories of Christmas 2008!

The next morning, I walked around to take some pictures.

This is Brooklynn's fountain in the wee hours of the morning.

It was rather chilly.

Maestro Mickey before he wakes up.

This could be a very good time to check in!

IMG_0231.jpg

There was a Thanksgiving meal available at all of the food courts, in case you didn't have special plans.

IMG_0232.jpg

I walked over toward where we stayed in March at Movies.

It was cold over there, too!

IMG_0233.jpg

The puppy was already up watching TV, though.

Or had he not even gone to bed all night long?

Kids!!!

It's almost time for the rest of the crew to start waking up so that we can go play in Magic Kingdom!

I kept taking pictures while they were getting ready.

IMG_0245.jpg

Maestro Mickey's was now open.

IMG_0247.jpg

Cool ornaments.

IMG_0250.jpg

These guys were just waiting for people to come and 'adopt' them.

IMG_0251.jpg

Aren't they cute?

We met in the gift shop and boarded the bus.
Soon, we were here.

It was a beautiful morning.

Here we were - at our Magic Kingdom!!!

So, did Jill get the internet for Christmas???

I love your early morning walks around the resorts, MeMom.

Those Christmas decorations over at ASMovies are great -- I love movies so I think one of those wreaths would look good at my house.

Can't wait to see what kind of fun you got into at the Magic Kingdom.

I saw a lot of ornaments to buy on my next trip!

It is fun to watch the world wake up with you.

Maestro Mickey's was now open.

Great shot but did you notice that Ariel is missing from the box?????:confused3 Where did she go.....I can barely make out her shadow. Reminds me of Toy Story II :rolleyes1

Positively magical!!!! :yay:

Great pictures from early morning at Music. The pool looks so cool early in the morning, empty and fog hovering over it. I love those ornaments at Maestro Mickey's too.

Another wonderful round of pictures MeMom!!!!!

Love the shots of the pool with the fog coming off of it!

I hope you all had a wonderful Merry Christmas!

Here we were - at our Magic Kingdom!!!

Well as long as I can be a member of your family (or we can just pretend) then that's fine that it's your Magic Kingdom! :rotfl:

I WILL go do this next time I go!! :santa:

Dawn and I had a good lunch today. We missed you :goodvibes....I heard you were with your 'girls' today :yay:

Did Santa bring Jill internet for Christmas!?!? :upsidedow

Great early morning pics! :thumbsup2

Hope you all had a nice Christmas.

Just getting caught up and saw that you ARE going over spring break!! :woohoo: Loving the early morning pics!

Not yet. She is hoping to have it by mid-January.

I like how each resorts decorations were themed. Somebody gets paid to create all those decorations - what a cool job!

That wreath would be great to put in a big theater room.
Not that I have one.
Not that I ever will.
But it would be cool for a Disney maniac somewhere who does have a theater room. :)

I saw a lot of ornaments to buy on my next trip!

It is fun to watch the world wake up with you.

You could have spent hundreds of dollars on cute Disney Christmas decorations. I was very frugal this time. I didn't buy much at all, but I sure wanted to!

I'm glad you're enjoying the morning walks. There are more to come!

Usually somewhere between 2:40 and 3:30, I'm pretty much up for good.

Early morning check-in = no line.
Make it early early morning.

Yes, I'm sure it was nice for those who couldn't get a good ADR to have a traditional Thanksgiving meal. We were fortunate to snag a Chef Mickey's reservation for Thanksgiving night, so we were very pleased.

Yeah, I had trouble getting everything in with the lighting in the background. Be assured, Awull was safely tucked away in her box waiting for some little princess to come and take her home. There's no telling where she lives nowadays!

Magical. Yes, it is absolutely magical!

Great pictures from early morning at Music. The pool looks so cool early in the morning, empty and fog hovering over it. I love those ornaments at Maestro Mickey's too.

Those ornaments would be awesome on a huge tree, but I have a baby tree, so I got some smaller things. However, in watching some HGTV shows over the break, I've seen ways I can use the big ornaments other than on a tree, which means next year.....
Right now, I can only think about saving, not spending.
Just keep saving.
Saving, saving!

Love the shots of the pool with the fog coming off of it!

I hope you all had a wonderful Merry Christmas!

I thought the fog over the pools looked pretty neat, too. I hoped to capture the quiet, cold, and stillness of that morning.

We did have a nice Christmas.

Did Santa bring Jill internet for Christmas!?!?

We don't mind letting family and friends (and complete strangers) borrow our parks while we're not there. Just as long as they promise to enjoy them and take care of them and leave them in good shape for us for when we get back!

As it turns out, I was home. We changed our plans a bit. I started to call you guys and see what time you were eating, but I needed to be at home because my computer guy thought he might be coming by while he was out with his family, so I couldn't commit. Let us know next time you guys are getting together, and maybe Jill and Brooklynn can come up and we'll meet you then.

Jill is hoping to have the internet within a few weeks.

Great early morning pics!

Hope you all had a nice Christmas.

Thanks.
We did.
Aren't you supposed to be out chopping down some trees? ;)

I guess you're on the road home.
You said you still had round two to go on Christmas stuff.
We're doing a round two, as well, when Jill comes back through from KY on the way home to AL tomorrow.
This meal will be a World Showcase tribute.
I need to get out and get stuff for it, but I'm just enjoying being lazy this morning. The house is clean, the laundry is caught up, and I've even done some parts of my report cards, so now I'm just flipping back and forth between HGTV and Food Network and watching other people work!

**************************************

Before we go on, I have to correct a mistake. This morning, Wednesday, I went to Magic Kingdom by myself at opening. (I was wondering why I didn't have pictures of Brooklynn at the bus stop or on the bus.) The others were going to sleep a little later and get to the park a little later since we were going to stay there all day with no return for naps in the afternoon. Trent and Jarvis would be on the road all day. They were going to meet us about parade time, and then we were eating at Liberty Tree Tavern.
I got confused with Thursday, when we all went early.

Anyway, so go back to the previous pictures, and scratch out about me meeting them to go to MK. I went to MK by myself.

Now that all that is clear (as mud)....

do you want to go inside this wonderful place?

IMG_0254.jpg

IMG_0255.jpg

First there will be some waiting.

Standing.
Waiting.
People watching.
Anticipating.

Finally, there will be the whistle of a train.

Then there will be some singing.

IMG_0257.jpg

As you can tell, I was way up front by the tunnel, and I was leaning back to get these pictures.

IMG_0261.jpg

IMG_0262.jpg

I was more interested in getting on inside the park than in getting the welcome ceremony pictures that morning.

Then they let us in - with warnings, beggings, pleadings for people to walk!

When everyone was let in, I went up the stairs to the train station to get a picture looking down.

IMG_0263.jpg

I knew I had to be quick, because those streets fill up very quickly!

IMG_0264.jpg

Snow White and a friend were coming out to greet guests.

IMG_0265.jpg

Main Street was just beautiful!

IMG_0266.jpg

The Master and Mistress of Ceremonies were headed over to do a meet and greet.

IMG_0267.jpg

They looked very festive in their holiday outfits.

IMG_0268.jpg

If you have never been to Disney World at Thanksgiving/Christmas, you should really try to do so someday. It is just a little extra magical at this time of year.

I was on a mission to get a certain Dis pal a castle throw.

So far, I was just window shopping. I did buy things here, but right now, I'm going to get up and quit being lazy for a while. I'll check in later today.

You could have spent hundreds of dollars on cute Disney Christmas decorations. I was very frugal this time. I didn't buy much at all, but I sure wanted to!

I'm glad you're enjoying the morning walks. There are more to come!

We went for my daughters birthday & Christmas in 2006 and my Christmas presents were ornaments for our little tree that we put up in our room. They were plenty for that tree but not enough for our big tree here at home. Hopefully over the next several years visits I will slowly be able to buy enough to fill our tree at home.

I can't wait for more of the morning walks.

We're days away from January, which touches February, and that's when you'll be there, so it is time to be excited!!!

I was looking at all the buildings on Main Street and doing a Brooklynn - "That's my Casey's!"...and that's my everything else!

I'm getting SO excited! Now that the craziness of the holidays is over, I can really start getting ready. I'm tempted to start making my packing lists already. My mom also got the Unofficial Guide, so I need to borrow that. We have 45 days left, it's crazy.

My mom was doing that too! :rotfl: As soon as the camera panned down Main Street, she said, "MY CASTLE!"

Quick question: When you and Jill went to get tonga toast on one of your trips, I know you went to the Poly. Did you get it from the food court there? My mom is also dying to try it, and we want to go one morning for it, but get it from the food court, if possible. Thank you!

ETA: I always love the pics from your early morning walks. I need to take an early morning walk around Pop sometime--I swear I will do it sometime this trip!

What a wonderful early morning look at MK! I bet it was fun to just take pictures and wonder around a little bit.
