Over the river and through the FUN!

Aww, looks like you guys had a great Christmas! I love all of your Disney holiday decor, so cute! I really like the Precious Moment figurine that Jill got for you! I have a few of them, but I've never seen that one before. It's adorable. :goodvibes Now that you have one, you will have to start collecting them! ;)

What a great Christmas you had... I love the decorations on your tree... and that precious moments figurine is too cute. I just went on the website and saw some really cute disney ones that now i have to have... :) I wanted to do a trip report but my camera is broken and I have to take it back to Best Buy to get fixed.... they are the ones that broke it and they are telling me it is going to be at least two weeks before it gets back... i am so annoyed..AH.

I'm glad to hear your having a lovely holiday! Look at the cute little "elf sized" snow white! I see she had her nails painted too! How sweet is she!? :) She'll be too cool for school with that Magic Kingdom backpack!

She loves dress-up clothes and that big gaudy jewelry. She has fun with it, but she can sure put together some wild outfits! :rotfl:

She thinks she is very pretty with painted fingernails and toenails!

Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas! I love Brooklynn's elf shirt and Mickey and Minnie are a wonderful treat! Great price too! I might need to sneak down to the Disney store....if DH will let me! :rolleyes1 How sweet of Jill to get you a Precious Moments. They are fun to collect. Plus it reminds you of your favorite place! I have a handful of them. We get one for "special" moments. I have the graduation one, wedding one, and one for each kiddo.

That was very sweet of Jill. I love it because it's cute and because of her thoughtfulness!

It does pose a problem now, though, because I will want to have many more to add to this one! I already have to be mad at Erica for showing me the Eeyore one!!!

I love Brooklynn's Elf Size shirt, thats just too cute! And that backpack is just adorable :cutie: I also love your xmas tree ornaments and all the Disney xmas decorations around the house. Disney and Christmas, all in one? You can't beat that :santa: :thumbsup2

It's the best we could do, since we have no Christmas trip this year. Jill and I and the baby girls are going back next Christmas, though, so that's something fun to look forward to! We'll probably go right after Christmas and stay until New Year's Day or January 2nd, since we need to add to our list of holidays we've spent in Disney World! ;)

You have been having so much fun and with so many cool Disney touches! I just love them all! Thanks for sharing them with us!

And I appreciated you sharing the gingerbread house with us over on your report. It's nice to get to know lots of nice people here on the DIS!

Awww, thank you for sharing MeMom!!! That is funny about the lasagna...that is a tradition we have at my grandmothers house every Christmas Day. We used to do appetizer stuff and then one day she was just talking about it and I said "lets do your homemade lasagna" so we started doing that and it has become a tradition. She makes a homemade one, I make a homemade one, my uncle makes a sausage lasagna and my mom makes a spinach lasagna. Then of course a couple of cousins make stoufers!! We end up with lots of lasagna!! Of course, there are 40 of us! lol!

I love Brooklyn's elf sized shirt! Too cute!!! It looks like you all had a wonderful time!!

I'll be having leftover lasagna for lunch today, too. In all the activity of the other night, I only had one very small portion.

The Precious Moments - Castle and Cinderella is so sweet, what a thoughtful gift. Now you can add to it on future trips.

Brooklynn just sparkles in her Snow White dress, good choice. :thumbsup2

The earings are very cute, I really like the flower ones.

Your cat had a great view of all of the festivities. :)

My favorite is the backpack, she is one lucky girl to have such a special bag to take to school.

Seems to be smiles all around. :mickeyjum

I will definitely be adding Precious Moments figures. I've already been eyeing the Dumbo one and the Teacups one. The Dumbo one will probably be the one I get next time, though, because Brooklynn loves that, and it's our first Fantasyland ride at every Magic Kingdom rope drop.

The cat either stays back in my room or up on that hutch the whole time Ben is here. He darts from one to the other when Ben is downstairs. He's so afraid of the dog, but the dog would just be very happy having the cat for a friend. Ben would probably play with the cat and then just lay down beside him and fall asleep and be very satisfied with their relationship, but the cat won't give friendship a chance.

Brooklynn almost looks like.....will this really fit??? :lmao:

I took pictures of a lot of these but this was my favorite of course! princess:

But I was just searching the Precious Moments website and LOOK what I found!!
720017_m.jpg

I thought you might like this and it is SO cute!!!!

I remember this!! :goodvibes The perfect size for her!

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: That's funny

What kind of dog?

I love the Eeyore one!!! And now, I have to hate you for showing it to me! You know I will eventually have to have that!

Jill had a couple of Precious Moments figures when she was little. I don't know if they didn't have all the selections they have now or if I just didn't know about all the other ones. Now that I've seen all the Disney ones, I'm in trouble.

I wouldn't mind having a tote bag with all the Fantasyland stuff on it!

The dog is just a mutt. He was given to them by friends, and those same friends keep him when they go on trips. Brooklynn has started calling him Benji a lot these days. She's so funny carrying on conversations with him.

That Precious Moments figurine is so cute. My mom collected those for a long time. I also love the Snow White dress--that is the kind of thing that I would have loved at that age because I was a girly-girl. The Fantasyland backpack is awesome too.

The cat watching from above is too funny. What kind of pup do Jill and John have? I saw it in the picture with Brooklynn with her baby sister's dress and he/she looks really cute.

We got more snow today, and school is canceled for tomorrow, because the roads are still not completely clear and it might ice over tonight. It's supposed to be in the high teens or low 20's tomorrow, but feel like it's in the single digits with the wind. I really love all the snow, but it's making me even more eager for that one week reprieve in February.

I hope that you have a wonderful rest of the week!

Ben is a mix, but I'll have to ask Jill exactly what he's got in him. His hair is long right now. Trent and Jill and John like him with long hair, but I think he's cute when he first comes home from getting a haircut. He's much smaller when he gets a haircut! :)

I've been seeing all the snow reports on national news. Some of you guys are having it rough. This is our coldest day since last January, but we don't have snow or ice, so we can still get out and function and all. I know it is pretty to have snow occasionally, but to have it often and for days and weeks on end, I bet it gets old.

February in Florida should be very nice for you!

Memom: Thanks for the PM. I've been really busy lately, but definitely want to hear all about this trip. I have 2 more days to work then will be off until next year. Will try to go back and read and catch up during that time. Will also try to go back and finish our August trip report. Just a few days left of it. (Also, during this time off from work, we'll be in your fair state. Will be visiting Pigeon Forge for a short trip. We love Tennessee!) We're still talking about going to Disney again in 2009. Who knows? Will just have to see how the money situation goes.

Again, thanks for the PM to let me know your report started.

Cathy

Glad you got back on the DIS for a while. I hope you have fun in Pigeon Forge!

Yaaa what a great day shopping and a wonderful party to top it off. I love Brook's shirt....hahahahah. :goodvibes

We did okay with our shopping. When Jill and I went to Gymboree, they were having a sale, so we didn't pay full price for anything. One little dress was on the sale rack, and then we got extra off on that, so it was a great deal. We called it her Epcot dress. It was light purple and it had a France/ Eiffel Tower print. Jill really liked the two little coordinating outfits we got for both girls. I think she's beginning to visualize how much fun it's going to be to have two little girls. The dresses we got them were exactly alike, and the pants/shirts outfits were coordinating but not exactly alike.

I suggested that we could have a lot of fun putting outfits together in Gymboree if Jill had triplets next time!

I'll let you imagine the look she gave me.

******************************

I sure am going to enjoy being home for a while. It was so nice not to have to get out in this cold this morning!

I hope you guys are all safe and sound and warm, and that you are enjoying fun holiday activities with those you care for.

Have a Merry Monday!

Hi MeMom!
declansdad's brother and family have safely arrived in WDW and already emailed pics of the castle. I think we've got 'em hooked! Thanks so much for sharing your great family pics. I LOVE the Mickey and Minnie ornament!

Well in spite of this being a waste of a great snowstorm(as only a teacher knows), we are enjoying our family time. Tomorrow its off the Nanny and Grampy's to spend Christmas.

Happy Holidays to you and yours! :santa:

Looks like the MeMom Crew had a Verry Merry Christmas with lots of love and smiles. The best way to do it! Your precious moments is very beautiful, now u have a headstart on your collection :)

I in the Disney Store today (picked up 2 ornaments for $6.31) and i saw the new promo commercial for "What will you celebrate?" and i started tearing up. I dont know whether its cause im so far away or because i wasnt there to kick off a new celebration but i did shed a tear right there in the middle of the Disney Store. My BF told the CM that i use to work there and shes like "you came up here for him? Wow?" I'm happy to be here but i miss home. I miss disney and now we're talking about when we're headed back...whether its for a visit or to stay only time will tell

I'm sure this one has opened the floodgates, especially with a new baby girl on the way. Little girls give a MeMom good excuses to buy all kinds of things.

You can just start a report whenever you get your camera back. We'll still be hanging around this place, I'm sure!

Same to the three of you. Best of everything for a wonderful Christmas!

I look forward to hearing what the extended family thinks of our Happy Place!

The outfit I got Brooklynn at the Disney Store was on sale, and then the Mickey and Minnie were, too. Nothing else, and especially nothing that was full price, really caught my eye.

You definitely went from one extreme to the other - all the way from Florida to the frozen north! If I had to choose between the two, I'd head back to Disney territory!

*****************************

I need to get out and get stamps, but it's so cold that I think I will wait until tomorrow. My Christmas cards are going to get to the few people I send them to either right at or after Christmas! Isn't that awful? I've never waited this late before, but I just never got around to having one space of time that I could sit down and do them all at once and just have it done. I wrote out two cards, and I'll finish the others tonight and have them ready to mail out after I get stamps first thing in the morning.

We took the bus from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Downtown Disney.

Jill had been very much looking forward to another Earl of Sandwich meal.

This was mine. I got the Holiday Special - with turkey, dressing, and cranberries. John got the same, if I recall correctly.

IMG_0177.jpg

This was hers. She got the potato soup that she likes so much and the Earl's Club.

IMG_0178.jpg

Big light fixture at Earl's.

IMG_0179.jpg

We walked around in Basin.

IMG_0181.jpg

They have a lot of neat stuff, and it smelled so good in there, but we ended up buying nothing. I thought we might go back a second time, and if we did, maybe I'd make purchases then. I was thinking of getting a couple of bars for friends as gifts, but I couldn't make up my mind.

Brooklynn saw Santa Claus.
She was a little stiff and unsure of him, but she obliged us for a few pictures.

IMG_0182.jpg

Unlike at many malls, the workers there were happy for you to take your own pictures.

Brooklynn has been telling Jill Santa is bringing her a purple present. I know Jill has gotten her a purple bracelet, and I'm not sure what else she has gotten that's purple. As of a couple of days ago, Brooklynn has added a purple 'puter to her list. They have told her Santa already had her toys, and she'll have to be a bigger girl before he'll be ready to bring her a computer!

Jill said she has no idea where she came up with the idea of a purple computer in the first place!

I hear ya! I just did my cards today and will get them sent out tomorrow. I will very lucky if anyone gets their card before Christmas.

Brooklynn looks cute sitting on Santa's lap. So funny that she asked for a puter! :) You wonder where they come up with things!

Your Christmas get together is almost like being at Disney with all the little Disney touches you have there! It looked great. I never commented on Jill being pregnant, congratulations! When is she due? If this baby is anything like Brooklynn, you guys will be set and one lucky family :thumbsup2

Disney at Christmas is a dream of mine. My parents own a timeshare through RCI and I recently heard that RCI members are going to have DVC privleges. If so, I definitely want to try to be there for xmas 2010. Since you're the Disney pro, how far before Thanksgiving do they start all the decorations and the Osborne Family lights? Thanks MeMom! :goodvibes

Brooklynn with Santa is adorable! And the food at EoS looks delish :)

I have always wanted to go to Basin and we never have!! I am going to have to put that down for February!! I bet it smells wonderful in there!!

Ah... the joys of matching/coordinating Gymboree clothing. That is so much fun, I have loved to do that with Em and Hannah, probably even more so since I had just a brother. Plus the gymboree stuff that was Hannah's still looks great on Emily. Two princesses are super fun... just think of the castle meal you all can have someday, I know that is my all time best moment with my girls at WDW!

MeMom have a very Merry Christmas... tomorrow I have commando cooking for Christmas eve!

cute picture of brooklynn with santa! that's funny about her purple present from santa! kids are so funny. when luke started preschool he was big on asking everyone what their favorite color was. at that time his was purple. but then about a week later he told anna that purple wasn't his favorite color any more, that it was "just ugly inside my head." :lmao: now his favorite color is green and he gets so upset when he asks me my favorite color and i say green (which has always been my favorite color) because we CANNOT have the same favorite color!!!! he also gets mad at anna because she says blue and he wants her to like pink. :confused3

I love the Eeyore one!!! And now, I have to hate you for showing it to me! You know I will eventually have to have that!

:rotfl:  Hate me...whatever! It's CUTE!! I thought of you immediately :goodvibes

I have several PM figures also they are now in my curio cab. So I myself just might have to start these too :rolleyes1 We'll see! So we may have 2 of the same :upsidedow I don't remember them having any disney ones when we were little

Sweet :goodvibes

Very cute about the Purple 'puter :rotfl:

I've still GOT to go eat at Earl's!!

That is HILARIOUS!!! :lmao:

I'm in the same boat with you MeMom about Christmas cards---and I'm SO sad that they are just getting out, because they are SO cute this year!!! I did a photo card on Shutterfly of Megan---there is a picture of her as Tinkerbell after her BBB trip in June, Megs dressed as Snow White at her birthday party, and then her Halloween picture dressed as Alice in Wonderland. They will enjoy them when they DO get them I guess!

I hear ya! I just did my cards today and will get them sent out tomorrow. I will very lucky if anyone gets their card before Christmas.

Brooklynn looks cute sitting on Santa's lap. So funny that she asked for a puter! :) You wonder where they come up with things!

I finished them last night. I'm going for stamps this morning, and they'll go straight in the box. Some will make it, and some will not, but I pretty much started them all out by apologizing about their lateness, so I hope I have understanding friends.

In your case, I'm pretty sure you lose elf points for not getting your cards out on time, don't you?

I appreciate you telling me you were behind. It makes me feel not so alone in this 'travesty'!!!

Your Christmas get together is almost like being at Disney with all the little Disney touches you have there! It looked great. I never commented on Jill being pregnant, congratulations! When is she due? If this baby is anything like Brooklynn, you guys will be set and one lucky family :thumbsup2

Brooklynn with Santa is adorable! And the food at EoS looks delish :)

Isabella Marie will be here the first part of April. Brooklynn has dubbed her Bella Rie. It was a lot of fun to look at all the little girl matching outfits the other day, and we'll enjoy that to some degree while they're little. Jill won't overdo the dressing alike thing, but sometimes it will be sweet to have them dressed alike or coordinating. I sense some very cute pictures coming in the future!

We enjoyed having our Disney touches. The girls appreciated it more than the boys. The boys have just learned to deal with it!

I can only speculate on the decorations.
Last Thanksgiving, when the boys and I went in mid-November, many Christmas decorations and the Osborne Light Show were up and running. This year, they moved the dates back several weeks. I know there was a lot of talk from disappointed people who had scheduled November trips to be able to see all the Christmas stuff and still get back home for the holidays. To be safe, and to see it all, you probably can't be guaranteed anything until Thanksgiving. A CM PMed me about the Jingle Jungle Parade and said it was starting the Saturday before Thanksgiving this year, so I was really happy to hear that.

I'm sure part of it is the economy, but from what that security guy told me that time at POFQ, a lot of changes were already on the table for the next three years. Maybe they foresaw tough economic times. So, I guess some of the cutbacks were planned already, and then some are due to staying alive in a financially tight world.

On the bright side, though, as I am hearing of cuts, I've also been reading of some new things that will replace old things, so that's good. Maybe it won't be as bleak as some people might think. They'd really have to make a ton of cuts for it to start getting bad, because there really is so, so, so much to the whole of Disney World!

If you want to see Christmas things for sure, you probably should book for later in the year and just plan on dealing with the crowds in ways Disers know how to do.

I have always wanted to go to Basin and we never have!! I am going to have to put that down for February!! I bet it smells wonderful in there!!

There were many good-smelling soaps there, and they have such cute designs! You'll enjoy making a stop there.

MeMom have a very Merry Christmas... tomorrow I have commando cooking for Christmas eve!

All I have to do today is get stamps and take a few things back to one store. I'll be up there to help you cook in a little while. I love to cook when I have the down time! I don't love it so much on school days, though.

cute picture of brooklynn with santa! that's funny about her purple present from santa! kids are so funny. when luke started preschool he was big on asking everyone what their favorite color was. at that time his was purple. but then about a week later he told anna that purple wasn't his favorite color any more, that it was "just ugly inside my head." :lmao: now his favorite color is green and he gets so upset when he asks me my favorite color and i say green (which has always been my favorite color) because we CANNOT have the same favorite color!!!! he also gets mad at anna because she says blue and he wants her to like pink. :confused3

Little kids' conversations should be on video very often - captured to watch over and over again, as they are precious moments in time! I love to listen to Brooklynn talk to Ben or bicker back and forth with Trent as he aggravates her. When I'm on the phone with Jill while they're in the car, Brooklynn will be in the back singing her somewhat cracked versions of the songs on the CD or pointing out things they pass along the road, like the all important cows and buses and such. About a week ago, they were beside a friend of hers from school, and they were alternately passing each other with the flow of traffic. Brooklynn kept calling out the little girl's name and telling her not to get too far away. When she talks about her friends at school and what they do, it is just so sweet!

You'll have to bring Luke up here one day, and I'll get Jill and Brooklynn up here and we'll take them to the Family Fun Center.

:rotfl:  Hate me...whatever! It's CUTE!! I thought of you immediately :goodvibes

Very cute about the Purple 'puter :rotfl:

I've still GOT to go eat at Earl's!!

That is HILARIOUS!!! :lmao:

I told Jill you would love my present!!!

Luckily, Brooklynn is young enough to be satisfied with the simple answer of 'you'll have to wait until you're older', so there's no trauma when she doesn't get one. Jill said there will be a cut-off date in her house for putting in Santa requests, and if they change after that, the kids will just be out of luck!

Oh good! Between you and Happy Elf, I'm feeling a little better. I mean, gosh, if even a Happy Elf can't get cards out early, then what do you expect of a plain old MeMom????

Your cards sound very cute, so I know people will love them whenever they arrive!

In your case, I'm pretty sure you lose elf points for not getting your cards out on time, don't you?

I appreciate you telling me you were behind. It makes me feel not so alone in this 'travesty'!!!

I'm sure I do lose elf points! :rotfl: I'm using the excuse that Owen was sick for about a week and a half or 2 weeks and that got me really behind because he didn't want to get sat down. I couldn't stand to listen to him cry when he was sick. I know he needed mommy to hold and cuddle him.

That's so funny that Brooklynn asked for a purple computer! You do have to wonder where they come up with some of the things that they do. I also cracked up when she said that she wanted to take a nap right then, so that she could open her presents sooner!

I need to go to Basin, and EoS as well. I'm dying to go to DTD when it's not packed like it was the last time that we went, and when EoS isn't closed.

That will be so cute! I have two cousins that dressed alike when they were little. One is just nine months older than me, and the other is 3 years older than me, so we grew up together and are still really close. Up until about the time I was six or seven, I thought that they were twins!! They're close in age and they looked so much alike when they were little, plus I knew two sets of twins in my class. They were the only others I'd ever seen dressing alike--obviously if my cousins were dressing alike, they HAD to be twins. I actually have a picture of the three of us holding hands in my grandmother's front yard, and they're dressed in the same outfit, but different colors. I showed it to one of them at a family party over the summer and all she said was, "oh no." :rotfl:

Don't worry Memom...I did not get xmas cards out either this year. I had Caleb's pictures taken late so all the family members are just getting them at the actual christmas celebration. Maybe next year :confused3 but I am not counting on it since he will be mobile then:rotfl:

This is probably the last time I will be on the computer (and it is not purple :sad1: ...it sounds very pretty)

So have a Merry Christmas:santa:

Hi, so you are having a quiet day, I have to be at work for 1pm. I think I'm getting the "cold" going around. Sniffle..sniffle...as I try to rest here in bed.

How cute of Brooklynn to ask for a purple 'puter. She just wants to DIS too! ;) I saw a Hannah Montana toy computer at T'RUS and it brand name was "lexibook" I thought that was too funny. :rotfl: Lexi said she was too old for it but I was tempted to buy it.

Today, I set my PVR to record the WDW Christmas parade on Thursday!!! I will watch it live but I always tape it to watch it again later. Lexi is so excitted that Miley Cyrus & Jonas Brothers are apearing...:cloud9:

I also ordered the Passporters guide book for 2009 from Barnes & Noble USA, our book store doesn't seem to have it this year?

Have a great day!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO THOSE THAT ARE TRAVELLING TODAY!! :santa:

MeMom! It took me awhile but I finally found you guys. What a wonderful trip report so far. I had no idea that Jill was expecting so a big Congratulations to her! :) I love all of the pictures!

I'm behind on sending out cards too. Its terrible for me cause i havnet even filled them out yet. But they will get there...later rather than sooner. Next year i think i may start around halloween that way im sure i'll be finished in time
