Over the phone AP rate different from AP website

A lot of you might already know this, but the AP rate over the phone can be much different than the rate on the AP website. For our upcoming stay, I checked the rate on the AP site and it was way above the special winter room rate. However, after seeing a promotion from Mouse Savers, I called to see if there was something different and got an extra 5% off from the winter room rate with the AP rate. It's not a huge amount, but every little bit counts.

Again, many of you might already realize this, but figured even if I can help one other person save, it would be worth a post!
