Over Ride Thermostat

So with motion sensor if you're sitting still reading or watching TV the A/C will switch off cause there's no movement?

Yes. We have gotten around this when staying in a room with a motion sensor by tying a balloon to a chair right by the A/C so the fan blowing keeps the balloon in motion.

The balloon helps keep the AC from shutting off, but doesn't help get the temperature setting down below the preset limit.

AKL has the sensors. My room was stuffy when I would return, but after going on the balcony to see animals immediately on return from parks and coming back in, it was noticeably colder. I mind being hot at night and don't remember having a problem. I assumed they used them there to be eco friendly, I don't know why they would install them in All their hotels. They are in Florida, providing relief from heat should be upper most.

Are these new thermostats in the refurbished CBR rooms or do the guest still have control of the temperatures?

seems like it would be better to let the guest determine the temp but have a timer on it so that can be adjusted. people who don't move in their sleep are going to find it getting too hot, I imagine.

Don't need it running full power for many many hours while the room is empty. motion detector? what a concept!! but only part of the solution
