Our very magical, very first trip to Disney World

Woldn't it be fun to be a Kidcot CM? Just sit around and talk with sweet kids all day about their vacations and the fun they were having? :thumbsup2

I don't think I would have stuck it out very long with the chopsticks.
I've heard about the ginger cake, but never tried it.

Love the picture by the easel. One of my all-time favorite pictures of my youngest son is of him in a blue smock and beret painting in France at a Kidcot station. (He was about 5, and he had the biggest grin on his face. He's now 20!)

Only I'm not sure it was called Kidcot that long ago. There was a special 'celebration of children' thing going on - the predecessor to Kidcot, I suppose.

Keep the pictures coming! I am enjoying seeing those happy little kids having fun in Disney World.

Woo-Hoo! World Showcase! :woohoo::woohoo:

Morocco is my absolute FAVORITE!! Cool that you saw Jasmine.

Love the pics of Emily in France..too cute. :goodvibes

My boys really enjoy the pressed pennies. We have the Disney collection books and after 2 trips, they are almost full. We start saving quarters and pennies when we know we're going back!

I'm glad you're enjoying my report MeMom, I know I enjoyed quite a few of yours:thumbsup2

Oh, I forgot that I heard about the books to store them in. Do you buy those anywhere in Disney? Are these something that you can find online too? I'd love to buy one before we go. Or while there if we can't find one!!!

We bought ours in WDW. I think you can get them at any gift shop..they are usually right up by the cash register. The design we got was a Year of a Million Dreams, so I think the designs change frequently. I also did a search online for "Disney Pressed Penny Book" and you can get them at a lot of different places. I think we only paid like $6 or $7 for it at WDW in 2007.

When my daughter was about Emily's age she was really excited to see France as well. Isn't that funny? She really wanted to see that Eiffel Tower. I love the picture of your girls on the bus, very cute. I can't wait to hear what happens next.

Ok, i'm hoping that I don't have any more problems with this silly laptop!!! I'm sitting up at 2 am, I can't sleep, so i figured i'd give this another try.

2am?! I hope you get to have a rest later!

So we left off leaving Innoventions, we were on our way to the World Showcase. Emily could not wait to get to France.

My kind of girl! "Hello, my name is Lisa and I'm a France-aholic :cloud9:" lol

They all got a pressed penny from France, they all really enjoyed doing this, I think I'm going to make it more of a collection next year, with whole bunch of quarters and pennies for each child. We probably have about 8 or 9 total, but we want more next year.

I've got to remember to keep my eye out for those pressed penny machines - the pennies look so neat when they're pressed!

We then went and got a mask, they sat for a little while and decorated them. Again this is something we're going to do more of next year. We didn't start the masks on our first day, so we only got to add to them in a few different countries, which is Ok, it was really neat to speak with the CMs from different countries at all of the kidcot areas.

The masks are neat, aren't they? Love the picture of your sweeties with their masks! :thumbsup2

Emily's picture she couldn't wait to get with the Eiffel tower in the background.

Great picture! Go, Emily! :goodvibes

We got an outside table and the view was very nice. The kids really enjoyed trying to eat with chopsticks. Emily and Sam were the first to give up, but Lizzie and Anthony kept at it for quite a while.

Good for everyone for trying to use the chopsticks :thumbsup2

Well, I have to upload some more pics from the rest of our day. There are some more interesting things to come. Like the things our kids will make us do??????? And i'll leave you with that for tonight. I'm going to press this button right now and I better be connected to the internet with this damn laptop!!

Yay, it worked! :yay: Can't wait for the next update popcorn::

Great update,

Reading how much your kids enjoyed the kidcot stops reminded me so much of my last trip, my kids were not looking foward to the WS (4 and 7 at the time) that is until they found the first kidcot station we HAD to do the entire WS then even through the on and off rain.....

So glad this was one of your favorite days the WS is always one of my favorites too...

This is one of the most...joyful TR's I have read in a long time! It's just so...happy! I feel so many trips get hung up on the weather, kids having tantrums. You and your family just seem so appreciative to be together and to be on vacation. Lovely! I can't wait to read the rest! (Although though I'm sad it's ending soon!)
Also, congrats on your upcoming wedding! I've loved reading those little wedding details, too.

As always, a fantastic update with lots of cute pictures. I usually set aside a coin purse of quarters and pennies for my son to press. I have heard that the quarters fit perfectly in the mini M&M tubes. I'm gonna give it a try this year.

So we left off finishing up our lunch at Yakitori House. We were ready to head over to Japan, because Emily REALLY wanted to pick a pearl. I highly recommend this to anyone remotely interested, it was such a neat experience. Once the pearl is picked the CM bangs on these drums, then asks you if she can show off your pearl to everyone watching, it's really nice.

So here they are!!!

Here's Emily taking her pick

Her pearl was 7 and a quarter inches, the CM said that was big.

After this the lady that does the candy right outside was set to perform, so a whole group waited around for about 10-15 minutes when we were told it was cancelled due to the rain, because she had to use a hairdryer. Well, does someone want to put a sign up or something. I mean yeah it's common sense you don't want to use a hairdryer in the rain, but I didn't really know much about the show, I didn't know one needed to be used!! Anyway, we were bummed we didn't get to see this.
We decided to head back towards Future World

Continued......

So we got back into FW and music was playing, it was so nice. Well we were walking by and I noticed Club Cool, I almost forgot about this, so in we went!!!
This place was so neat inside.

2009_0518DD.jpg

So I explained to everyone that these were different sodas from around the world and that I wanted them to taste a special one for me first. AND.....so I poured 4 cups of Beverly and got my camera ready.

2009_0518DE.jpg

And with 4 kids, I knew I was only going to get one really great picture, so this is the victim I had my camera on

2009_0518DF.jpg

She LOVED IT!!!

2009_0518DG.jpg

We tried all of the sodas, Lizzie's favorite was from China, she is still talking about it and wishes we could buy some here. It was good, very sweet, but very good.
Well, after the set up, I told them that I knew about Beverly and I had tricked them, Anthony couldn't believe it, cause that's now usually like me, it's Manny that's always teasing them.

2009_0518DH.jpg

We really wanted to ride Spaceship Earth, so we headed that way.

2009_0518DI.jpg

2009_0518DK.jpg

I just remember the music playing at this time and it was so lovely to be walking around with the music playing.

So we finally got there, the kids were waiting to get inside this ball.

2009_0518DN.jpg

I let Sam sit right behind us with Anthony and she felt like a big girl sitting with her big brother and not Mom.

2009_0518DP.jpg

So this was basically a ride through time. We loved this, all 4 of the kids absolutely loved it. I really enjoyed seeing the animatronic figures set up.

2009_0518DX.jpg

Ah, the TV was invented, I love this one, it looks so real

2009_0518EA.jpg

And of course they got a kick out of seeing their faces on little people on the screens.

2009_0518ED.jpg

It was a long , wet day, we figured we'd head back to the Hotel

2009_0518EL.jpg

We got back and relaxed in the room for a little while

2009_0518EP.jpg

Then went down to the foodcourt for dinner. We sat in the corner and the kids watched cartoons while we ate.

2009_0518ES.jpg

We went back up to the room after dinner, i'm guessing it was about 7pm. I have to get my pics up, but the next update is a good one. Who makes me feel guilty and over what? Find out next time on ..... Just kidding. LOL

I'll try to get the next update up today.

Good update.....nice job on the Beverly trick. Ugh -- no way I want to drink that thing.....

I'll be interested to see if my kids enjoy Spaceship Earth like your kids did. Probably just being in "the ball" is part of the thrill.

Great update! Club Cool is so fun...I'm glad you didn't forget about it!

Sorry you missed the candy lady. She is really incredible! Put it on the list for next trip!

Pick a Pearl sounds cool. :thumbsup2 Did you get it set or just take it home as a pearl? That's something we've never done.

Sounds like a great day at Epcot. Where to next??

What a fantastic update! I love the picture of the three girls heading out of the park. Arms outstretched as if to say....What a great day! So adorable.

And, you left us with a teaser. Love those!

I forgot to post too, that I also tried it after them. I was REALLY curious. It is so BAD. It tastes gross at first, but it's the after taste that is HORRENDOUS!!:lmao: We all had to drink a few more cups from China to be able to move on with our day.

And I was so glad that my kids enjoyed spaceship earth, because I did. They actually wanted to jump on it again before we left. We're really into History and I think that's why they enjoyed it even more so.:goodvibes

Yes, The Candy Lady will definitely be on our list for next year. And for the Pearl we just took it home. But now we're debating on whether we want to get it set somewhere here, or take it back with us next year to get it set. Because Lizzie and Sam really want one too now, so we'll be getting one for them next year too. I absolutely loved this.

I love this picture too, it's a favorite. And yes, a teaser...... I think about it still and say, "oh boy, I know I love my kids" cause the things I do for them are a little nuts!!!

I dont think you told me about this one! Cant wait to go back readin your trip report and seeing the pics today and your scrapbook.

I asked makenzie if she wanted to play tennis and was like oh ummm oh i dont know what do i have to do? is it going to be hot? Then i said you will be going it with emily. YES I WANT TO DO IT. WHEN DOES IT START? CAN WE GO NOW? Just wondering if yo got the same reaction out of emily!

Great EPCOT updates! Looks like you found a lot of neat things to do while it rained. We still haven't done the pick-a-pearl. Definitely need to add that one to the list. :thumbsup2

to leave us hanging....... geesh!
LOL
