Our thoughts on La Quinta Lakeside, Kississimme

We are a go with the flow family and thought we would post our likes and dislikes to this hotel.

LIKES-
1. Nice Location to WDW from Kississimme.
2. Pizza Hut express was convenient late night
3. quiet pools were clean and warm on cool nights.
4. Big grocery store right across the street and walgreens next door.
5. rooms were fairly clean and requests were done timely.

DISLIKES-
1. Very spread out resort
2. check-in very slow, check-out was good though.
3. comp newspaper gone all but one day.
4. no free cont. breakfast as advertised. They give discount coupons for a full size buffet.
5. Hotel showing it's age. Rusting rebars showing on 2nd level walkways.


The mini-store looked adequate along with the restaurants and small bar. We ate breakfast in rooms and the fridge worked well. We had a rental car and I think that is still your best bet when off-site. I saw some big lines waiting for the shuttle each morning. I saw the drop-off and p/u times and I would hate to be held to those parameters. Also this hotel does seem to cater to guests from the UK. Nothing wrong with that, just an observation.

Would we stay there again? Probably not, but we weren't in our rooms that much either. Hopes this helps someone thinking of using this hotel.

I think with this hotel - you stay depends upon much it costs. I got it on hotelmartusa (?) for $28 - so this was a great hotel in my opinion.

Now if you paid $45 or more - then yes - I can definitely understand your opinion.

We went through expedia and did the flight, hotel, and car together. It does need some fixing up no matter whatever the price. That being said, they were working on the roofs over by building 10 while we were there. You only have one chance to make that 1st impression. It was just looking it's age.
