Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

Wow, that Chef at Sanaa is really nice! That's the Disney difference to me - sometimes they really make you feel special. :goodvibes

I have three favorite CS meals!

Columbia Harbour House (Fried Fish and the Tuna Sandwich)

Tangierine Cafe - Schwarma Platters

and WPE - Pizza! I've had the Ceasar and Chinois Chicken Salads too, and they're really good.

Your CS choices look great! I can't wait to get a cupcake at Starring Roles either! :cool1:

My favorite CS is Earl of Sandwich, I LOVE it! But if I had to pick a place in the parks, I'd go with either Columbia Harbor House in MK, or the fish and chips place in Epcot!

Great CS choices!!! :thumbsup2

One of my favorites of your choices is EoS. I love those sandwiches, and we HAVE to eat there at least once every trip! As you probably know from our TR, that was our first stop on our last trip!

I know you have a lot of MK choices, but I do love Casey's hotdogs!

I know I can't believe that about Charlie too and Lily's sister!!! I kinda don't want the baby to be Blair's but being GG it will be and it will be Chucks, as you know there are never happy endings in TV

Hope you guys have a great time tonight and Happy Birthday to your brother :)

Great choices on CS's, esp Main St Bakery and Starring Rolls. You should check out Boardwalk Bakery as well for other cupcakes. I started a thread a while ago asking people to share their cupcake treats from the World and have now compiled a list of cupcakes we have to try this year :teeth:

That's really cool about Chef Majidi saying he will provide all the meat to your ADR's, that's Disney Magic for you :)

My fav counter service is Casey's as I love a good old fashioned hot dog and you can have cotton candy as your dessert, not to mention watching old cartoons whilst you eat them in the little cinema with benches :)

Yes, have to agree in that it probably will end up being Blair's baby, even though she is finally settled with her prince.

Thank you! We had a blast last night and my brother enjoyed himself. Zaheer took a couple of pics of the birthday boy so will see if I can get them from him to post. I'm a bit jealous though as he leaves for his hols on Wednesday! Wish I could say the same...

I actually had Boardwalk Bakery in our original plans but then when we changed things it sort of got lost. I will def try and fit it in somewhere (maybe resort hopping day) even if it is just to spend snack credits on the cup cakes! popcorn::

I have been lurking on your cupcake thread. I'm scared to sign up to it as feel I will gain pounds just by looking at some of the pics of them delish cupcakes!

I know, I'm so pleased. We haven't even started our trip yet and already have received some Disney magic! :)

I like your CS choices. :thumbsup2

I think that Sunshine Seasons is awesome. They seem to have the most variety on property!

Thank you!

I can't wait to try Sunshine Seasons! Looking at the menu I am finding it hard to actually decide what I want to eat. Maybe seeing all the food on display will help (or it may confuse me even further!)

Your CS choices look great! I haven't eaten at may of the CS restaurants yet but my favorites so far are Cosmic Ray's and Sunshine Seasons.

Thanks! Quite a few people have mentioned Cosmic Ray's so may have to try and check it out! I can't wait to try some food at Sunshine Seasons.

Hope you manage to get to try some more CS places on your upcoming trip! :)

I think you have some great choices on your list!

I've had the BLT salad at Columbia Harbour House... it was good. I can't remember what DH had. Cosmic Ray's is a good choice, too! I had the rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans... it's A LOT of food!

We ate at Sunshine Seasons for the 1st time last year. VERY good! As are the CS places in Mexico and Japan.

The only CS we've had at DHS is pizza from Catalina Eddie's. But I've heard the ABC Commissary is good.

As for AK, the only CS meal we've had was at Pizzafari. I really wanted to try Flame Tree BBQ, but our DDs liked the kids options at Pizzafari better.

Thank you! I think I am tempted to try the sandwich at CHH though may consider the salad as well. I like the look of Cosmic Ray's - the only problem is as we will not be able to eat meat at CS options it does not leave us with many things to be able to choose from.

I can't wait to try Sunshine Seasons and Mexico. I'm a bit gutted not to be able to try Japan...oh well there's always next time!

You are the first person I know to mention that a CS at DHS is actually good. I have read so many bad reviews of the choices in this park.

Flame Tree BBQ does sound good - I hope you get to try it on your upcoming trip :)

It' been a long time since I have been on here. Great job with the movies, its good to watch and keep interested in all things Disney. I wonder if I could take the idea for my PTR? (please). I need a way to stay active on the boards. I am very happy for you about the Chef from Sanaa being on board. What great service :woohoo:. The only CS place I am looking forward to is Flame Tree at AK. I have purposely avoided looking at my options. It seems like I have micro managed every aspect of this trip so I am leaving CS up in the air so that we have some spontaneity :thumbsup2. We are just going to stop when we are hungry and hope for the best. I know this goes against everything we are taught in the Dis academy  but I think we will be fine.

Aaw am glad to see you back. Thank you - it just makes me watch them as otherwise I think I would probably be like I'll see it tomorrow and then it will never happen! :rotfl: It's also good to read what everyone else thinks of the movie and the different opinions.

Hey, feel free to use the idea though there are far better movie nights on other PTRs. Although I try I never seem to be able to make the food etc to go with the movie.

I am very happy with Chef Majidi and the service he is providing for us! :wizard:

Flame Tree BBQ sounds good. I like your idea of leaving it to spontaneity and seeing where the mood takes you! :thumbsup2

my favourite CS that I have eaten at is Cosmic Rays. The Chicken and Rib combo is so good and a great value. I have heard fantastic things about WPE so I am hoping to try it this trip!

Another fan of Cosmic Rays - will have to go and have another look at their menu!

Yes, WPE sounds like a great CS choice. I hope you get to try it on your next trip :)

If you need another CS at MK, Pecos Bill is awesome as well. I love all your choices. We were going to do Columbia House on our trip, but........well I tell ya later:cool2: LOL.

Happy Birthday to your brother!

Right, will have to keep Peco's Bill in mind as a backup option. What, you say that and then leave me hanging?!! :lmao: Can't wait to find out what you mean, lol!

Thank you - wish I could say I was 21 again! Actually when we were at the restaurant yesterday this funny thing happened. A person in their late 30s was taking a pic and saw our balloon. She was like 'I'm 21 again' and we let her use the balloon to take a pic! I found it soo funny!! :rotfl:

Happy Birthday to your brother!

All of your food choices look great. I've never been to Starring Rolls, but after reading about on all the TR's, I will stop by there next time!
That is so nice about Chef Majidi!

My favorite CS is Pinnochios at MK. I think it's because we could see the boat riders from It's a Small World.

Aaw thank you! He had a great time and is leaving for his holiday with the lads on Wednesday. My mum will probably be checking in with him every day!

Thanks - I can't wait to try them all. Ooh you have to try Starring Rolls when you can - the cup cakes are apparently to die for! ;)

Quite a few people have mentioned Pinocchios so am going to have to see if we can make it there to see the beautiful view available.

Columbia Harbour House (Fried Fish and the Tuna Sandwich)

Tangierine Cafe - Schwarma Platters

and WPE - Pizza! I've had the Ceasar and Chinois Chicken Salads too, and they're really good.

He sure is! I can't wait to thank him in person - I totally was not expecting him to do that! I thought he would just discuss our ADR at Sanaa - not take care of every single one! I already feel special before even going on our trip, so don't know how I will feel when I am actually at Disney World! ;)

I love your 3 CS choices as they all sound like food I would enjoy eating. We are hoping to try the Fried Fish and Tuna Sandwich at CHH. Unfortunately Tangierine Cafe has taken the cut this time but hopefully I will be able to try it one day as I think I would enjoy the food available.

I can't wait to try the Pizza at WPE! :cloud9:

Great CS choices!!! :thumbsup2

One of my favorites of your choices is EoS. I love those sandwiches, and we HAVE to eat there at least once every trip! As you probably know from our TR, that was our first stop on our last trip!

I know you have a lot of MK choices, but I do love Casey's hotdogs!

Thank you! :thumbsup2 Having just read about your experience at a CS I hope it is not as busy in September!

I can't wait to try EoS - it looks so yummy! popcorn:: I have been seeing pics of the Brownie sandwich desserts as well and they look great. Yes, I did read about it being your first meal - I think ours may end up being WPE (or Pop if we are too tired to go to DTD!)

I would not be able to eat Casey's hotdogs but they do sound delish! :)

Thank you! I know they look so yummy - think I will have a hard time deciding which one to get!

EoS will definitely be getting a visit during our trip - can't wait to try it! We are already planning on eating at CHH (have been told that upstairs is better) but the fish and chip place at Epcot had to get cut. I'm going to try and use a snack credit to try it :)

I still have a lot of catching up to do, but this is a really great PTR. Very organized. Love it!

Wow - a call from the chef at Sanaa - awesome...were you shocked?

Love your choices. Be sure to eat upstairs at CHH. We ate there, but not their food. :rotfl: I had sandwiches that we picked up at Boardwalk Bakery the day before because our credits were going to expire and we carried them into MK. The lookout at CHH was wonderful. Of course, my smell sensitive child hated the fish smell downstairs so it worked out.

Sunshine Seasons- YUM!!

Cosmic Rays is fun/ food is okay, but if you need a break and want to ride the monorail, I really like the counter service at Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary. You have to look at the menu to see if it suits you.

:welcome: and thank you for appreciating my PTR! It is my first one so was not sure what I was really doing...just went with the flow of it!

I know...I was shocked at the time! I think it was one of those rare moments where I was speechless!! He kept talking and I just listened.

Thank you. I will def remember to eat upstairs at CHH! Haha on eating Boardwalk Bakery sandwiches and your kids still picking up on the smell from downstairs!

I can't wait to try Sunshine Seasons!

Contempo Cafe was on our list but then took the cut when we changed dining plans. I'll print off the menu and see how we feel on the actual day...if we need the rest will def head that way!

Hi everyone! Hope you had a good day today - it's school holidays here so went shopping! :woohoo:

Anyway onto movie of the week and most of you will have probably guessed what it is by now. If you haven't maybe if I mention that I watched it with this cutie you will be able to guess it then!

Marie-2-1.jpg

Yes, I finally watched Aristocats! I thought I had not seen this movie before but parts of it looked familiar - am not sure why :confused3

aristocats_wp_02_800-1.jpg

Anyway, I loved the aristocats and it reminded me of the relationship I have with my borthers. They are all so cute and I love when they want Thomas as a father role.

The Dutchess is great as well. Though I hate mean Edgar and am glad he got sent off in the truck to Timbuktu! So, what do you think of this one? Look forward to finding out ;)

I love your CS choices! CHH is my favorite CS location because I love the food and I love sitting in the nice and quiet! It's always so peaceful there, especially if you go upstairs! Plus, no matter what the weather, you can escape it for a bit and relax. I love the fried fish basket!

That is so cool that the chef is working with you so well. It sounds like he is going to make your trip very special! :goodvibes

I want to share some trip related news with you which has made our week! I sent an attachment with our dietary requests a while ago to Disney World and a few restaurants have got back to us individually. However, this week I got a call from Chef Majidi at Sanaa. He was ever so helpful and went above and beyond his call of duty – he said he would provide the meat we eat to all the restaurants we have ADRs at so they are able to cook it for us!! I was very happy to hear this and can’t wait to meet Chef Majidi and thank him in person.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and have a great week!

I love that the chef at Sanaa called you and is even helping with your meals at other restaurants! That is amazing. I have to say that I have never had so easy of a time eating as a vegetarian as I did at Disney World. They seem very accommodating.

We had lunch at Cosmic Rays one day and enjoyed it. I had their veggie wrap (which was giant) and Mike had the burger. He made good use of the topping bar and I even got nacho cheese from there for my french fries. We didn't make it to starring rolls or sunshine seasons so they're on my list for next time. We ate at the table service restaurant in Mexico at Epcot and it was great. I think the CS is right next door so I'm sure it's amazing too. The margarita flight was amazing. Oh, and EOS at Downtown Disney was great. I almost said forget it because the line was so long but it moved really quickly so don't let it discourage you :)

Joining in a little late! I've been reading you PTR, but I've decided to it's time to stop lurking and comment! :rotfl:

I like all of your CS choices. There's only a few I have eaten at and most are already on your list, so I'm not much help in that department. Starring Rolls and Earl of Sandwich will not disappoint, though! They are delicious.:thumbsup2

I know - I am so excited and it does sound like this will be a trip to remember! Hope it turns out to be just that! :goodvibes

I know - I love how accomodating Disney is and no matter what request you have they seem to be able to manage for it to take place. After all it is the place where dreams come true! ;) I'm looking forward to reading your vegetarian reviews of the food in your TR.

Cosmic Rays sounds appealing because of it's toppings bar - I will be making sure to use it when we visit! Def add Starring Rolls and Sunshine Seasons to your Oct trip - I can't believe you are going back so soon! You must be excited!

I hope the Mexican CS is just as good as the TS. I will have to remember that about the EoS line - thanks for the thumbs up! :thumbsup2

:welcome: aaw thank you for coming out of lurkdom! Although my plans are pretty much sorted I still have a while before my trip (nearly in double digits! :rotfl:) so am sure I will be posting to make the time go faster!

I'm looking forward to trying our CS choices including Starring Rolls and EoS! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed eating at these places :thumbsup2

I love the Aristocats! :lovestruc Marie is one of my favorite Disney characters, I love meeting her in France in Epcot! :thumbsup2

Although I think the Arisocats is one of Disney's more forgettable movies, I love Dutchess and Marie. I had a stuffed Dutchess toy when I was little that I got on my first trip to Disney, it was one of my favorites. But then again, I like cats a lot.

I keep my Disney trip journals in a Marie notebook now, so while the movie wasn't all that great to me, I can't pass up anything with a Disney cat on it!

You've hit on one of my favs! Love that movie. Just like Jungle Book, It's mostly the music, but the kitties are so very cute:thumbsup2

I loved when you changed your avatar to Marie (I miss it! :sad2:) and thought this would be one of your favourites! I love Marie as well and can't wait to meet her! Whilst at our Disney Store yesterday I saw this cute key ring with Marie on and loved it! :lovestruc

I also now want to visit Paris and see the Eiffel Tower again! :rotfl: Maybe I could plan a weekend break after Disney World! :cloud9:

Dutchess and Marie are great in the movie. Some parts of it is forgettable but others are hilarious - I loved when Abigail and Amealia came in with their British accents! :rotfl: The Marie I posted is one of the stuffed toys I have and I have to agree that they are so cute.

I would love a Marie notebook - she looks so cute on anything! I'm still deciding what notebook I want to purchase to write all my notes in - have plenty of time to make my mind up!

I enjoyed it as well! The music is great - esp when the cats all get together!

The kitties sure are cute - I love the characteristics of each and every one of them! :thumbsup2
