Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

LOL, my DH isn't a big fan of Disney movie nights either! He will watch Disney movies, but if I make a big deal out of it before our trips, he doesn't want to participate!

I LOVE Beauty and the Beast, one of my favorite movies ever, and Belle is my favorite princess! :goodvibes I love her because not only is she the most beautiful princess (in my opinion!) but...she reads! I've always had my nose in a book, for as long as I can remember, and I love that we have that in common! And the songs in this movie are so amazing! I really should buy the new DVD that came out months ago, before it goes back in the vault!

It is good to hear that I'm not the only one in this situation! :rotfl2: At least your DH will watch movies - I don't even get that :sad2:

I love B&TB as well - it is such a classic movie and Belle is great! Good books are sure great to read! I love all the songs in all Disney movies but there is something special about the ones in this one :lovestruc

If i have time and feel like watching a movie I might put one on in the background while I'm doing something. But luckily I have 4 and 6 year old nephews that I can watch them with when I see them  :thumbsup2

That seems like a good idea - maybe I should do that. Ooh enjoy watching the movies with your nephews whilst it lasts! My little sister used to love them and the other day I asked her if she wanted to go and see the new Winnie the Pooh movie on release. Her response: 'No, I'm not a little baby' lol!! :rotfl:

What are your plans for the weekend? Hope you all have a good one!! Part of mine will be spent watching the football!! There is an interesting game this weekend involving two Manchester teams! My brother and I support one team (the red one, hence the colour!) whereas mum supports the other! Should make for a fun viewing, lol! Hopefully, our team will come out on top :)

Edit: Manchester United ended up losing :sad2:

The only plans I have this weekend are to go grocery shopping and get my youngest DD a new pair of tennis shoes. Exciting, right? ;)

That's my favorite movie EVER!!! I just love it!! Can't believe it's under 5 months for you guys now...time is sure flying isn't it?:goodvibes

So today will be our resort hopping day! ;)

We will get up late and make our way over to POR! I can't wait to see it as have heard great reviews of the resort on these boards!

We will probably have our breakfast at this resort and try the famous beignets available..yum!! popcorn::

After our breakfast the plan is to explore both Riverside and the French Quarters - it'll be nice to see the comparison.

We may also take a ride on one of these beauties:

After this we will take a bus to Epcot and walk to The Beach Club to have a wonder around this resort and check out Stormalong Bay.

I did contemplate about ordering The Kitchen Sink but would be eating most of it and didn't want to make myself sick!

The other plans for today include visiting the other resorts in the Epcot area (Yacht Club, The Swan and The Dolphin) and maybe a round of mini golf at Fantasia Gardens!

Depending on time we may pay Fort Wilderness a visit but am not sure if this will be possible on this day as we have an evening ADR at Sanaa!

Sanaa1-300x225.jpg

We are looking forward to this meal for a couple of reasons - one of them being a possible DIS meet!!! Should be a lovely way to end our relaxing day! :cloud9:

Coming next: Our MK day including not one but two ADRs!!

That's my favorite movie EVER!!! I just love it!! Can't believe it's under 5 months for you guys now...time is sure flying isn't it?:goodvibes

Mine too!!! :thumbsup2 It sure is great!

I know...can't believe there is just under 5 months!! I remember when I started this PTR thinking it was ages away but time sure is flying!! :goodvibes

It makes me excited but nervous at the same time! I bet you can't wait for your trip to arrive either! :)

I have never had the luxury of doing a resort-hopping day on our previous trips. I hope to make our next family trip longer (we've done a 7 day vacation, but 2 of those days are for travel... leaving just 5 for the parks) so that we can have a day or 2 to just relax, chill at the pool, resort hop, or visit DTD (which we've never done, either!)

Beignets for breakfast, ice cream for lunch, and Sanaa for dinner. Could it get any tastier? Sounds like a nice relaxing day (especially the sleeping in part). I'm very excited about exploring the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas. Hopefully we'll see you at Sanaa :goodvibes

That day will be our departing day:sad2: Say HI to POR for us!
Sounds like a nice relaxing day. You may find a resort you want to stay at in the future.

Your resort hopping day sounds like a lot of fun! We stayed at POFQ on our Disneymoon, so I am excited to try out POR on our upcoming trip! Thos beignets are soooo good! :lovestruc

Sounds like a fab resort hopping day and great resort choices too :thumbsup2

Yes, apparently it includes pineapple, mango, orange and lemonade! It does look yummy!

I think Krispy Kremes are the BEST, lol!! Have not had any for ages - prob because once I buy them can not stop myself at just one! :lmao: The fresh ones are the best - think you would have to make a reservation to have them at Tusker House :)

Wait one second.... are you saying I'll have to update my ADRs AGAIN? Why, I would never DO such a thing!:rotfl2:

Oh, and in regards to the non-Disney-watching men in our lives, have you tried the Tron approach?

In this method, you institute a "double feature" night, whereas he gets to see a movie about people walking around in Day-Glo suits and YOU then get to watch Tangled! This would work with non-Disney movies as well, such as:

Rambo for Bambi
Total Recall for Sleeping Beauty
any of the SAW films for.... wait, nah, I'd refuse to watch SAW.

The posibilites are endless!:thumbsup2

:lmao:

Ok, so in reality, my DH actually likes Disney movies, but the Tron / Tangled day at the theater did happen for that exact reason!

A resort hopping day sounds like fun! :thumbsup2

It sure does, doesn't it? ;)

Am really looking forward to spending a day just visiting other resorts!

You should look into making your next trip longer and having them extra days just relaxing :cool1:

I'm really looking forward to spending a day outside of the parks just going from one resort to the next! Though I know what you mean about having short breaks and not enough time to fit everything in! :)

I have never spent an entire day checking out the resorts, I guess it would be relaxing!

It sure sounds relaxing - am hoping it'll end up that way! ;)

I know...I try and plan my days around the food I want to eat at the different places!! Will end up being heavier then when I left but I don't care! If you can't enjoy eating on vacation when can you? ;)

I'm also looking forward to seeing AKL and the villas as well as some animal sightings. Am hoping to see you guys at Sanaa as well :)

Sounds like a nice relaxing day. You may find a resort you want to stay at in the future.

I'm not even thinking of departure days - it just makes me soo sad :sad2: Will def say HI to POR for you! My thinking is that one of the resorts will appeal to us and make us want to return again!

Am hoping to see you around Pop during our stay so will keep my eyes peeled! :goodvibes

Thanks - am looking forward to it! I didn't realise you had stayed at POFQ on your Disneymoon - that must have been a great trip! :thumbsup2 Am glad you liked the beignets and am also sooo looking forward to them!!

Sounds like a fab resort hopping day and great resort choices too :thumbsup2

Thanks! Am looking forward to seeing all the resorts - we will be covering a few others during our meals as well! :thumbsup2

Wait one second.... are you saying I'll have to update my ADRs AGAIN? Why, I would never DO such a thing!:rotfl2:

I NEVER said such a thing!!! :rotfl: You just assumed that from my reply, lol!! Of course I know you would never DO such a thing!! :rotfl2:

Thanks! Could try this approach but don't think I'll get very far!! I already do that with non Disney movies - Zaheer gets to choose one movie and I choose the next. However, any childish movies (that's what he calls them) are out of the equation! See what I am dealing with!

Your resort hopping day sounds great!

You may already know this, but I think the beignets are only available in the French Quarter food court, so if you want them for breakfast you might start the morning there instead of at Riverside.

I've always wanted to try the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream, but I don't want to make myself sick by eating too much of it! I think you'd need about 8 people to finish that thing!

You know what I actually only learnt about this after my update! I went on All Ears site to check menus again for the zillionth time and was searching for beignets on the Riverside menu, thinking why can't I see them?! :confused3 That's when the penny dropped and I thought I bet they are only sold at French Quarter. So I check that menu and funnily enough they were listed!

I would love to try the Kitchen Sink one day but think it would be a waste of money this time round. I'd be the only one eating and for sure would be sick from eating too much of it! Whichever one of us gets to try it first will have to remember to let the other one know what the experience was like! :)

The resort hopping day sounds like fun! I just stayed at POR, it's beautiful! I wanted to do one of those carriage rides, but I just couldn't fit it in! :confused3

Mmmm, I have to go back to Beaches and Cream this year and get a No way Jose, that looks amazing! When I went, I just got a chocolate ice cream soda!
