I am waiting for my Dh to get his butt out of bed so I can go to sleep........I am such a bed hog....I like having it to myself all week. The perks of working overnights.

My kids asked me that question early on because they heard kids at school using the phrase "your so gay" to other kids in a derogatory way. They took gay to mean happy. So I explained that sometimes a couple could be two men rather than a man and a woman and they use the term "gay". That was a simple enough answer for them and I'm actually glad they asked early. That way they can get bits and pieces as they are ready to hear and understand.

I do agree that there are certainshows (one's I like) that are just put on TV too early at night. We have DVR so we record and watch later!

We dealt with "gay" at about 3 for both because they both had/have kids in their pre-school w/ two moms or two dads. Kids actually seem to deal with better than some adults. I think if we dont make it a big deal than it is not. Good luck!

That's funny!!! It is funny how you get to used to that empty bed. When my DH does night shift I feel very squeezed in on his two days off and sleeps at normal times. Hope you can get to bed soon!

I know...he used to get mad at me when I would wait until he got up to go to sleep. Now he is glad I wait.
Of course on the weekends I am normally on the Dis until about 3 or 4 am, so I really don't crowd him then either.

I would love to, except my DD will turn 8 on that Sunday. She decided to invite a few friends over for a small party. I wish I could leave DH in charge....but lets just say he's great when they have 1 friend over...but with 8 little girls???? I don't think he would survive!!

Exactly Hugh...Well put. We all should learn to do that on most issues. If it isn't an issue for a parent, than it won't be for our kids. No matter what he question.
