(Not mentioning the "L" word!!!)
FWIW, I think this is totally logical!!
Did I totally miss the fact that you just stayed at AKL? We're booked there for our January trip!

Our first AKL stay...I'm very excited!!

WARNING: you are about to be subjected to a long drawn-out rave about AKL. Be warned this may happen at any time someone posts the words Animal Kingdom Lodge or the more well known acronym of AKL.
I can't describe how wonderful AKL is! You're gonna love it!
Everyone has different taste of course.. and there seems to be many people that prefer WL over AKL. I wanted to try some place new this year (we try to experience a new place every year).. so we did a split stay at AKL & WL.. a week at each. I was so disapointed with WL, I wish we would have finished with AKL but we stayed there first. The last day I wanted to grab something from the gift shop at AKL before going home so we stopped over there quick, and me and dd popped into the lobby for a minute just to experience it again.. and my dd said "mommy it feels like home here", and I knew just what she felt. I felt it when we entered the lobby the day we checked it... and we had only stayed there once before (last year it was our 'new' resort).
Next year I don't even think I want to try another resort.. I think we might just spend the whole time there.
My dd loved the bead activities they have scheduled (just ask any cm for a schedule)... they really encourage parents to participate too.. but almost all can be done easily by themselves (the scavenger hunt had you all over the resort and I didn't want my dd all over by herself so I got to run all over the resort too). She earned 10 beads (really nice wooden and even 2 small glass animals) for her 'totem'. On the last day you get your totem bead from the cm and they have you make a promise on it to do you best to protect your favorite animal.
They have night vision binoculars that are really cool.. it's like green daylight. You look out over the savannah (the one next to flamingo pond, whichever that is) and you can see the animals so clearly!
They have the nightly music parade thingie.. the kids choose an instrument to use and play it while in the 'parade'
By the way.. all of this is free.
In nataliz's trip report there seemed to be many times when she went out on her balcony and didn't see any animals. I can't remember even one time when we went on our balcony that we didn't see animals. There were always giraffes and/or zebras and/or the cattle thingies with the huge horns (Ankole?) hanging around. I have loads of pics with one and all of them together. There were other animals and birds, but the ones I mentioned were always around. We were on the Arusha savannah, zebra trail.. maybe that made a difference. If you're getting a savannah view.. I'd recommend you request that. We had it last year too and constantly saw animals. Just be sure you're not in the first building or the begining of the second building.. the arusha rock viewing area will look right into your room. We asked for, and got a room change. Got an awesome view!
All the CMs were great there! We came back so late one night from MK magic hours.. giddy and goofy, and I'm sure annoying. We went to the desk (front desk inside since it was so late) for valet parking.. and there were 2 CMs there that were so awesome! My dd mentioned how we were too tired to stop at a grocery store (assuming we could find one open) and now she'd have no hot cocoa in the morning to sit on the balcony and watch the animals! (our morning ritual). I told my dd I wouldn't have my morning coffee so I could suffer with her..lol. The CM said 'wait.. don't leave yet' and ran through a doorway. She returned a minute later with 5 packs of instant cocoa, I'm assuming from the employees lounge. Now considering we were laughing our heads off and being silly (from over-tiredness), we looked like drowned rats since we spent the last couple of hours CONSTANTLY riding splash mountain, in the front log every time of course... I'm pretty sure we had to be annoying, not the picture of charm and cuteness. But these CMs were so nice, enjoying our silliness and went out of their way to get my dd her morning cocoa! That wasn't the only time they were incredibly nice and sweet to us either.
Anyway... can you tell I love that place? Even the mousekeeping are friendly and always have smiles! In the 3 different places we have stayed on property in the past year, it's the only place my dd got towel animals.. last year too.
You'll have an incredible time there! Now I'm really missing it... wish we could go back NOW!
