our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

thank goodness LTT was right around the corner. we got there at exactly 5:00 and checked in at the hostess stand.

we didn't wait long until we were buzzed -i think it was like 5:10. this was on our table as we sat down....

our server was nice, but he seemed very stressed out. i felt sorry for him!



first came the salad.....very yummy!

while we were eating our salad and rolls, chip showed up first!

he pointed to my shirt and giggled....

then goofy came around the corner. as goofy and chip were passing each other, they both froze and goofy looked as if he was going to draw a gun. it was so funny! i swear, they both stood there frozen for at least 1 full minute.

then goofy came to visit us....he's one of our favorites!!!

next was pluto. we both just LOVE pluto!!!! we're big dog people so pluto holds a special place in our hearts.

pluto was SUCH a flirt! he kissed my hand and held out his arm for me to put my arm through his, then he started to walk off and wanted me to come with him. i was like, "OKAY.....FINE BY ME!!!!"

as goofy was walking up the stairs into that section, he tripped and fell and made a HUGE racket! i thought he really fell at first, but then i thought.....duh, it's goofy!

the food came next. i'm telling you, chip, goofy and pluto came fast and furious while we were eating our salad....one right after the other!

all the food was good, especially the roast beef. usually i'm not a huge roast beef person, but it was REALLY good. everything else was good. not outstanding, but good.

i love how pluto puts the book on his nose to sign it!

next came minnie. she's so cute....

i told her she looked very pretty and she put her hands over her eyes like she was embarassed!

somehow dale ended up coming to me first and when he saw my shirt, he gave me a thumbs up!

and last but not least came the dessert - apple cobbler with ice cream. it was good but we didn't eat much because we were SO FULL!!!

as ray was enjoying his dessert, chip came back around and started playing with his hat! it was so funny!!!! ray totally wasn't expecting it. he picked it up and turned it around on ray's head, then he took it off and tried it on himself. i wish i would've gotten a picture of chip with it on, but i wasn't fast enough.

overall, we really enjoyed this meal. i recently heard the bad news that this is no longer going to be a character dinner starting in 2009. that's SUCH a bummer! i don't think i'd come here just for the food. it wasn't BAD, but there are better options out there if you're not throwing the characters into the mix. i think people come here for the characters way more so than the food! i don't know what disney's thinking. anyway, i'm glad we got to experience it before it's no longer available!

They're stopping Character dining at LTT? Man! What a bummer! While the food isn't spectacular, my DH and I have gone there together every time we go to DW cause we love the characters and the surroundings. Do you know of a petition against it? I mean, I know it's not the tops, but I personally really enjoy it.

Anywho, I'm glad you got to go and that you enjoyed it!

I can't wait to see your figurines. If I ever have kids, I want to do the same thing, use my Disney purchases as children's room decor!

Those Peter Pan figurines sound so cute, I can't wait to see some pictures. Disney has the best art stores; everything's so gorgeous! Great pictures from LTT! It looks like a lot of fun and I love the pictures of Goofy on the floor and Chip playing with Ray hat We've never been to the LTT and I doubt we'll ever go. You're right, the main draw was always the characters and I can't see it doind well without them. It should be interesting to see what happens. Great update!

I agree re: LTT also. The characters are what make the place! Luckily, we scheduled a dinner ADR there in Nov. before MVMCP - glad we'll experience it one last time!

Great update, Dawn!!! I am looking forward to seeing pics of your Peter Pan figurines! I am so sad that LTT is losing their characters -- we've never eaten there, and I always planned on doing it sometime before a MNSSHP so we could see them dressed up for Halloween. I guess we won't be doing that now.

I love all the touches along Main Street -- your pictures really capture the feel of it all!

i don't understand some of the changes disney has decided to make lately, but i must trust in their judgment - i mean, they know what they're doing! at least in the past they have.

thanks! oh, they're both this year actually. the first one is in september with my friend erica (vandyfan10). my AP expires on 9/22 so we took advantage of free dining and all i had to pay for was the hotel!!! how could i pass that up? then the next trip is in december. we're going for a short trip just to see the decorations and christmas shows. we're staying off site to save money on that trip. i can't wait!

A few months ago there was a TON of Disney stuff for really cheap on clearance and now there's only five shirts at the most and a few accessories They had such cute stuff there! Oh well, hopefully it'll be reinstated at some point.

Dawn, it's so funny that you were talking about your figurines, earlier this AM I was asking Joe on the POTD thread where he took the Goofy figurine photo because I liked the styling of it. Then, I looked at the link and low a behold, Goofy was on there! Small world after all! Thanks for inadvertantly answering my question from another thread! I love his style and am definitely going to need to start a collection too!

this is NOT my latest TR update. that is located on page 64. this is an update about my december trip, along with some other random stuff i felt compelled to share. just wanted to preface this entry with that!

so guess what came today???????? OUR MVMCP TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it makes it seem real now. anna actually ordered them and called me as soon as they arrived. i went over to her house to get them (i'm keeping them in my disney-planning folder for safe-keeping) and we decided on whose tickets were whose. the boys will just have to deal! luke had to have the tinker bell one because it's the child's ticket. i chose mickey, donald and goofy on the teacups because i saw this one awhile back and i LOVED it. i love that ride and i think that ticket is so cute! and anna chose cinderella and prince charming because....well, she thinks she's a princess or something.

they're hard plastic like a credit card instead of the flimsy paper tickets i've gotten in the past.

I'M SO EXCITED NOW!!!!!

i also uploaded a bunch of pics off my camera today, so i thought i'd share.

i took these the other day after a storm......the sky was GORGEOUS!!!

when i got home today my madonna lilies were blooming in front of my house, so i took a picture. they smell so GOOD!

i also made a friend with a little green spider on one of them.

the rest of these are from the 4th of july. our neighbors across the street spend LOTS of money every year on fireworks. they put on a really great show. it lasts at least 30 minutes and is pretty much continuously going with fireworks everywhere. i can't imagine what it costs them! it's nice though because we can sit in the front yard in lawn chairs and enjoy a show. i hate going to anything where there's a crowd (except for disney of course) so i don't do the big shows they have in atlanta. we just usually grill out, have a few drinks and watch the show in the front yard!

here's a video i took of some of the noisy fireworks they had at one point. most of the ones they shoot are up in the sky, but these were on the ground and were really loud. please be forewarned...my other neighbor is standing next to me and he's got a potty mouth. so you may not want to have the sound blaring if you have kiddies nearby.

sorry it's sideways. i can't figure out how to flip videos to where they're upright when you take them vertically.
