our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

i hope everyone had a happy and safe independence day!!! and for those of you outside the U.S., i hope you had a great friday! (can't leave you guys out! )

so when i last left you we had just enjoyed an afternoon story at belle's fairytale garden. we decided to head towards toontown to see what was happening there. on the way i saw some peeps posing for a photopass picture and i couldn't resist 2 photo-ops in one!

DSC04528.jpg

neither of us have ever ridden goofy's barnstormer. yeah, that's probably because we're both adults and don't have any kids. well, do you think that stopped us??? no way! if there's a ride at disney world that i haven't done, i'm gonna try it at least once! so we hopped in line.

DSC04529.jpg

i snapped this while we were waiting.

DSC04530.jpg

we waited literally 5 minutes to get on. this incline totally freaked me out.......i wasn't sure i was ready for this ride!!! :lmao:

DSC04531.jpg

it was a fun little ride but it was over in like 30 seconds. i'm glad we didn't wait long! i'm sure we looked like idiots riding it without kids, but we didn't care. we would never see any of these people ever again!

i snapped this as we were getting off the ride. never had a chance to get a pic of the front of the train before!

DSC04532.jpg

next we decided to check out minnie's house since we hadn't done that last year. it was CRAZY in there!!!! there were people EVERYWHERE! as i was snapping pictures, this girl ended up in 2 of them and ray and i had to laugh at her. i'm sorry if i'm being mean but those hair pieces just look ridiculous if you're over 10 years old! and yes, this is coming from a girl who wears mouse ears. it looks like a dead squirrel on top of her head. anyway, i will shut up now because i don't want to sound any meaner than i already do!

DSC04533.jpg

DSC04534.jpg

we made it through the living room and the sewing room.....

DSC04535.jpg

then we got to the hallway (i love this picture of minnie!)

DSC04536.jpg

and we decided to skip the kitchen because you just absolutely could not MOVE in there! it was crazy. so i didn't get to see all the cool little kitchen gadgets that minnie has. oh, well! next time. i just wanted to get the heck outta there!!!! :scared:

next we decided to head towards tomorrowland via the super secret walkway from toontown. i love this way! there's never anyone around. it's so nice not to have to walk behind someone, even if it's just for a few minutes!

DSC04537.jpg

i think we must have grabbed a fastpass earlier that morning for space mountain. but we decided to have a snack before we used them. we got a frozen cherry drink and one of those spicy cheese pretzels. i love these things!!!

DSC04538.jpg

we sat on a bench near the loading area for the astro orbiter and just enjoyed our snack and people-watched. it was nice to sit down for awhile!

after we finished eating we headed towards space mountain. as we approached the fastpass line, ray stopped near a trash can to finish our drink and throw it away. well, the CM that was checking fastpasses saw this and when we showed him our fastpasses he handed us a rider switch pass and said, "that's for being nice and finishing your drink before you get in line without me having to ask you. you can use that like a fastpass on this ride at any time for up to 3 people." how cool is that???? i asked him if he has a problem with people doing that and he said, "yeah. they get mad at me when i ask them to please finish their drinks before getting in line." score! :yay: good things come to those who follow the rules! :thumbsup2

DSC04539.jpg

we actually didn't even end up having to use this. we were gonna save it for friday at the P&PP, but the lines were so short that we didn't need it. and it doesn't have a date on it, so i saved it for another trip! i think i'm gonna give it to my sister though. she and her boyfriend are going to disney world next week and since they're gonna be there at such a busy time, i figure it'll be nice to have. my next two trips are in september and mid december, during pretty slow times. so i just don't think i'll need it.

anyway, on to space mountain. we had a blast on this ride, as usual! this is a favorite of mine since i was a kid! it was one of the first roller coasters i ever rode......i remember being 7 years old and waiting in line and being SO scared, but then i loved it!

ray on space mountain......

DSC04540-1.jpg

after space mountain ray needed a potty break, so i sat down on a bench near the restrooms. i think the roller coaster had woken up flat beana and flat mattica because they wanted to come out and see what was going on. here they are enjoying the scenery.

DSC04541.jpg

next we hopped in line for buzz lightyear. i think we waited about 10 minutes to ride.

so serious about our shooting!!!

DSC04547.jpg

ray totally beat me. i suck at this game! i've been reading TGM's pointers though and i hope to do better next trip!

captured once again by the evil emporer zurg!!!

DSC04548.jpg

we headed towards the monster's inc. comedy show because neither of us had ever done this. i think the wait was about 15 minutes.

DSC04549.jpg

this show was cute!!! i love the part where they put the camera on various people. so funny! it was a nice break from walking, too! it was about 3:45 by this time and we were both starting to get tired. so we needed the break!

next up........

Great update. TOTALLY agree about the hair pieces, that's funny. I have never tried the pretzel thingies, they look good, have to do that next trip. Ray didn't look too happy on Space Mtn, must have been the need for the potty break. Glad you got to ride Barnstormer, it is a super fast ride, you'll have to experience it with kids someday;) you can borrow ours:confused3 . That is awesome about the switchpass score, what a nice CM. I stink at Buzz too, just can't beat Tim to save my life.
Can't wait for morepopcorn::

OMG - what's attacking Ray?!:scared1:

Very funny comments about the hairpieces. My DD, who's 12, and I would just walk past some of these girls, shake our heads, and mutter,"Too old!".

We love the Barnstormer too - :scared1: was the first rollercoaster DD ever went on, so it's a sentimental must-do EVERY trip (so says she!)

Whats attacking Ray was my question too:rotfl2:

Barnstormer was something I have never heard of (guess it's because I don't have kids and never go into toontown) I have to ride it this year though and I have to see Minnie and Mickeys houses. I don't care if I am 26...I'm just a big kid and so is DF.

I think I will get one of those cheesy pretzels while I am there too..they look yuuuuuumy

Love the TR...its getting me excited, Scott and I are thinking of going in September for our 5 year anniversary...

The hair piece on that girl looks SILLY...and yes I love to wear disney memorablilia on my head but not those kiddie hair pieces..LOL she does have a squirrl look lol jk.

Space mountain was my favorite ride too. when i was about 8 years old I almost went on then chickened out, but now I can ride it 3billion times in a row.

So i guess thats a clue for your next installment, is ray being hugged by a character..(hmm what character has brown furry hands????)
I feel like I should know this...UGH its killing me...cant think of it.

Dawn,
How nice of you to "pay it forward" with the rider switch pass. I can't believe people think they can get into the inside line with drinks.:rotfl:

I just love barnstomer, I agree, I would not want to wait long for the ride either. I have never been with young children when I road it, I didn't think it was weird for just adults to ride.

First thanks for remembering those of us outside the US. It was anice Friday. Lots of sun.

Second, :lmao: :lmao: Dead squirrel girl! Too funny.

That girl with the hairpiece!!! I was cracking up!!!

Can't wait to read the next update and find out what is attacking Ray -- is it the squirrel looking for its tail??? :rotfl2:

I'm guessing what's attacking Ray are some funky new "Chip & Dale" hats; we saw them on our last trip two weeks ago. They were a little creepy looking; I wondering if that's what Ray is attempting to try on.

great update and pics.

never done Barnstormer. maybe one day.

the hairpiece I say your at Disney, live it up and do what you want.

I also thought something attacked Ray.

Honky tonk...badonkadonk......

what you gonna do with all the junk, all that junk inside your trunk...

That was hillarious!!!!:lmao: ....she seriously looks like she has a dead animal on her head though! Get some ears, but please don't dress your hair up with 2 year old barrets an stuff, that's just silly.

Sorry I have been MIA!! But, great update Dawn!!!

I can't wait to hear what attacked Ray!!!:lmao:

i think ray just wasn't aware i was taking his pic. i took it while we were on the way to the big incline at the beginning by just putting the camera behind my head and shooting. so he wasn't prepared! i'd borrow your kids any day if it means we get to go to disney world!!! :rotfl2:

you'll have to wait and see about ray and his friend. ;)

those hairpieces were just so ridiculous on the older girls and women. i'm all for being a kid at disney world but that's just crazy.

Whats attacking Ray was my question too:rotfl2:

oh, you need to visit toontown even if you don't have kids! keep in mind that they don't usually open it until 10:00. if you get there around 9:45 then you can watch some characters walk up to open toontown and the kids walk in with them - it's really cute! plus you can meet mickey in the judge's tent! :thumbsup2

you will have to see about the clue pic! ;) and yes, those hairpieces do look silly if you're over a certain age. at least i think they do. i hope you guys get to go on your trip! september's a great time to go - it's not busy at all. plus they start MNSSHP on 9/4, just FYI.

One true sign they are not from the U.S......his hat.....

Honky tonk...badonkadonk......

what you gonna do with all the junk, all that junk inside your trunk...

:rotfl2: that's so hilarious!!! she does have a good bit of junk in her trunk, huh? don't you love the pose her mother took of her where you can probably see a little too much if you're standing in the wrong place? yeah....brilliant parenting there.

don't lie, jordan - you know you have one of those hats buried somewhere. ;)

Dawn,

oh, it's not weird......i'm sure it just looks kinda funny. here we are, two 30-somethings, no kids, mouse ears and all, screaming our lungs out on goofy's barnstormer!

First thanks for remembering those of us outside the US. It was anice Friday. Lots of sun.

Second, :lmao: :lmao: Dead squirrel girl! Too funny.

my thoughts exactly!

That girl with the hairpiece!!! I was cracking up!!!

Can't wait to read the next update and find out what is attacking Ray -- is it the squirrel looking for its tail??? :rotfl2:

hmmmmm......maybe. :confused3

yeah, that girl with the hairpiece.......just dumb if you ask me!

I'm guessing what's attacking Ray are some funky new "Chip & Dale" hats; we saw them on our last trip two weeks ago. They were a little creepy looking; I wondering if that's what Ray is attempting to try on.

my lips are sealed. :ssst:

great update and pics.

never done Barnstormer. maybe one day.

I also thought something attacked Ray.

oh, you and biff have to ride the barnstormer......it'll make you feel 7 years old again!

i agree about living it up. but i stop just short of putting dead animals on my head. :rotfl:

That was hillarious!!!!:lmao: ....she seriously looks like she has a dead animal on her head though! Get some ears, but please don't dress your hair up with 2 year old barrets an stuff, that's just silly.

::yes::

Sorry I have been MIA!! But, great update Dawn!!!

I can't wait to hear what attacked Ray!!!:lmao:

thanks! don't worry....he survived.

It's so nice to get rewarded for doing the right thing......doesn't seem to happen often!:thumbsup2

I love the picture of you in Zurg's "cell"! I almost posed for that.......and then I had a vision of me getting stuck half in and half out.........I don't think the cm's are trained to deal with that!;)

I too am not a hairpiece fan... I hope my girls never want that!

Goofy's Barnstormer... I am jealous! I still have not been on that ride, next trip!

The kitchen at Minnie's house is cool. We could not get Emily out of there this trip, and we were in there twice!

That pretzel and frozen drink look DELICIOUS! I want some right now!

That hairpiece...

I was just reading about Goofy's Barnstormer today in my Passporter and was thinking we should try it next time. And now after reading about it in your TR, it's on the list of definites!

That hairpiece! Did she lose a bet?:rotfl:
I'm with you on the "gotta try everything at Disney sometime" thing. I wasn't crazy about Barnstormer, but it was worth a try.
