~Our March 'Just Engaged',freezing,and full of surprises trip~Updated 6/23 p.76

Yay! I finally caught up! You two are adorable, and this just what I need to help get me through the 5 weeks before our trip to POP for 9 days!!!

I love all of the pictures from the F&G Festival. I bet the camera does not even do it justice though.

Great TR so far!!! :thumbsup2

Glad the fiance enjoyed LeCellier - it is our all time favorite restaurant too! We will be at the world in 10 days and I can't wait... tomorrow I'm to the single digit countdown... :jumping1: I'm going to make it my mission to see all the topiaries that you have taken pictures of - can't wait for me!

Welllllll, I made an ADR for a Kona breakfast for our summer trip! But, since I'm still not sure how I'll like the Tonga Toast I'm thinking I'll get the macadamia nut pancakes at Kona and still do Capt Cook's another day. :)

You are going to love breakfast there! If you're a coffee person, try the pressed pot that I showed. It was so good!

That is so exciting your trip is in 5 weeks! Have you stayed at Pop before?

10 days?! That is so exciting! I hope you think of me when you see them!

Your pictures of the princess topiaries turned out great. I love wandering around the WS. It seems like we see something new on every trip.

Day 4 continued: March 16, 2010

We left off finishing up our Grey Goose slushies and checking out the rest of France. That’s when I saw topiaries of one of my favorite Disney movies. It was so neat because Belle and the Beast were having a meet ‘n greet right on the other side!:

Seriously, we are so surprised with how much we have missed in WS over the years. When you walk back further into each country, you seem to lose yourself in the scenery and you almost forget that you’re even at Epcot.

The Chefs de France restaurant was packed, and there was a long line to check-in all the way out the door! Must be popular- HA! Is this the restaurant where Remy makes an appearance at your table? I’d love to try there sometime.

When we had seen all France had to offer, we headed to the next country: Morocco. Now, Epcot is the only chance in the world to say “I walked from France to Morocco in a matter of 5 minutes!” HA!

Before entering Morocco, there were more F&G Festival things to look at. I can’t remember what exactly this was, but we thought it was neat:

293-1.jpg

I thought these black flowers were pretty cool:

294-1.jpg

We walked down this little path and came upon this model for an outdoor kitchen area. Fiancé and I were really into this, and it would be amazing to have something like this one day when we have our own house.

296.jpg

297-1.jpg

298-1.jpg

As you walk through this, you end up walking up to this Eco-wall. I can’t believe we didn’t take a full picture of the whole thing. But, here’s a picture of the sign and the website if you’d like to check it out:

299-1.jpg

After checking that out for a few minutes, we headed back out the way we came and headed on to Morocco.

300-1.jpg

Morocco is definitely one of the countries that we have never spent much time in. I have to say though..Marrakesh does scare me with its lamb on the menu. I’m sure a lot of people like it though! More lamb for you guys! HA!

The architecture here is so beautiful:

302.jpg

We made our way into Morocco’s shops and wow, they were beautiful! I felt like I had stepped into a real-life version of Aladdin. They were selling all the beautiful garments that the women over there wear. We kept walking around and eventually ran into the area where the Aladdin and Jasmine meet and greet is held. I pointed out to Fiancé that I’ve seen pictures of it on the DIS. He was amazed at the most random things I learn on here. HA!

We kept walking around Morocco and ended up walking through here:

303.jpg

It reminded me of some of the houses that I’ve seen on the House Hunters International t.v. show. It had that second balcony and the open roof. Again, the tiles and architecture here were amazing!

Next up on our WS journey was Japan.

304.jpg

As we were walking into Japan, I saw that the candy lady (what is her name?!) was giving a show! We hurried over and found a spot to watch. Again, I told Fiancé I had seen pics of her on the DIS. I was so excited to finally see her in person! It was like seeing a “DIS celebrity”! HA. She was making a giraffe during our show:

305.jpg

It was so amazing watching her just make this creation out of nothing. Everyone was “Oohing” and “Ahhing” as she went along and you could start to see some sort of shape taking place. We all clapped and cheered for her when she was all finished. As we walked away, we wondered what she does with all the animals and other things she creates throughout the day. Anyone know?

We headed into Japan’s shop and were overwhelmed with Hello Kitty. I mean, there was Hello Kitty everywhere. If, for some reason, you have a phobia of Miss Kitty…I recommend not going in here! HA. We kept walking through and stumbled upon the Pick a Pearl. I have done the Pick a Pearl, but it was the one at DTD. It was so much fun. We made a ring for Fiancé’s mom and a necklace for both of my grandmas. They all loved them.

Now, this Pick a Pearl was much more exciting. The CM working there was SO excited and enthusiastic about her job. It was the kind of energy and kindness that I have longed to see from all CM’s at WDW. You know, the kind of CM’s you would see everywhere you went back in the day. Now, CM’s like this are a rare find- a dime a dozen.

We watched her for awhile, then continued on our walk through the shops. It seemed to go on for miles! When we finally made it to the last room, we made our way back out to WS.

306.jpg

The fish and this pond were just so nice to look at. We could have sat on a bench back there for hours.:

307.jpg

Up next: the American Adventure. Is anyone else disappointed with the food offerings here? If so, here’s my question for you: What kind of TS place would you put here?

**Continued in next post**

**Continued from previous**

While walking into US, we ran into these topiaries of Pluto, Goofy, and Donald:

308.jpg

We walked into the US gift shop and I immediately had to take some hat pictures. Can you believe it, Liesa, these were the only hat pics I managed to get the whole trip! I know! I know! I promised 10..so Kristen and I will make up for it in July.

309.jpg

This one made me sad. Sis and I always put hats and point guns at each for a pic every trip. It has become one of those random traditions for us. I tried making a sad face, but that didn’t last long. Fiancé caught me in the middle of trying not to smile, HA:

310.jpg

And that folks, was our journey through the US. HA. The American Adventure attraction was either going on or closed, so that was out of the question. Up next: Italy. Ahh, Italy. Home of the restaurant Alfredo’s- now Tutto Italia. We managed to make it to Alfredo’s just a few months before the switch. It was amazing. We all fell in love. Unfortunately, we had found this new love just a little too late. Anyone who has been to both: what do you think of Tutto compared to Alfredo’s? We have tried to get into Tutto, but it has always been full!

While walking into this country, we saw this lovely topiary couple:

311.jpg

I thought Lady’s ears were so cool!

We walked around Italy for a bit longer before heading into Germany. We were excited for Germany. We had planned on trying an Oktoberfest beer. But first, we had to check the little train area out:

312.jpg

313.jpg

314.jpg

315.jpg

316.jpg

The beer area was crazy packed with random groups of people huddled in their own little packs- all holding a beer in their hand. It reminded me of being back home at our local college bars or parties. I decided to find us a spot to enjoy our drink while Fiancé got it. I walked out towards the lagoon and found a quiet spot to sit on a little ledge. We sat here for awhile..just enjoying our Oktoberfest, the atmosphere, and just being at WDW.

317.jpg

This drink was SO good. Definitely recommend it.:

And our view of the lagoon and SE:

We were amazed at how well our Epcot day was going. For those of you who have read previous TR’s of mine know that Epcot and us have not had such a great relationship. Our days at Epcot usually end up with Epcot hating us. HA. And by hating us, I mean it almost always has rained/stormed while we’re there. One time, there was a bad lightening strike that blew a transformer and all the rides at Epcot were down. Yeah. We’ve been miserable there.

To be having such a great day just gave us hope that maybe Epcot wasn’t so bad after all. HA. I sent Kristen and Mom a pic of Fiancé holding our beer before we finished it and moved on to the next country. And here’s me sending the pic:

321.jpg

One last pic from where we were:

~Up next:

The rest of our WS journey, a walk-on ride, and we witness a “magical” family moment

Great pics! The candy lady actually makes candy for people. I guess before she starts she finds out what people want and she makes it for them. My kids each got one in 08. I wasnt there to see it done but they loved them!

That is so exciting your trip is in 5 weeks! Have you stayed at Pop before?

No, this will be our first visit there! Last time down in 2007 we (DH, DD3 and my mom and dad) shared a family suite at ASMu. This time it will just be me and my husband and our daughter, who is 6 now. This is actually the first time we are doing a long vacation, just the three of us and we can't wait!!!

Ahhhhh. I literally have tears in my eyes... the WS is truly my happy place. So is the Magic Kingdom but in a different way? Hard to explain. The problem is I NEVER EVER have enough time in the WS to spend Next trip I have to plan it better and I sure will cause it will be during Food and Wine which I am obsessed with.

I agree about the American food. Don't they serve hamburgers and hot dogs there? This makes no sense because that food is GERMAN. Hello. I think there are plenty of American invented foods they could serve there. I can't remember which but I was reading an old TR written by someone from Canada and she named all these American foods like New York vs Chicago style pizza, Philly cheese steak... more that I can't think of now, but that would be great in this pavilion.

Also those black flowers are sooo cool! I can't believe I missed those. And LES CHEFS. Omg omg omg. Book an ADR there for your next trip. Trust me on this one. I'll be writing about it in my TR. ;)

Love the pics of your trip around the world - I imagine there is so much that me and my husband haven't seen but maybe we could be a little more relaxed and go through all the countries.

Aw, I'm glad you understand my love. MK is my happy place. It's neat to hear what everyone else's happy places are at WDW.

Yep, they sell burgers and hot dogs! Oh wow, those would be great food choices there!

I can't wait to read what you write about it!

Thanks! I hope you do take your time through WS.

Sounds like you guys had a great time in WS! I agree that the American pavilion needs better food choices. Being a New England girl, I vote they add clam chowder. That would be very American! I laughed when I saw your comment about House Hunters International. I love that show! We are trying Chefs de France on our honeymoon, I hope it's good it's a first for us!

What American Pavilion TS would I like? Great question! ~

I think they should have a buffet style restaurant similar to Boma, with Pods. Each pod could offer you selections from different regions throughout the country. One could be traditional colonial fare (similar to LTT) with turkey and all the fixins. Another would be seafood selections from the northeast coast. Another could be southern soul food and also cajun/creole. Another would be southwesten and tex/mex, and then finally northwest game (similar to AP at the WL). I think that would be tremendously successful and really show off how diverse our wonderful country is!

Question about Germany Pavilion: Is that train village always there or was that just set up for F&G Fest? Like you, we have yet to get to really explore WS and plan to take advantage of it this time around! :thumbsup2

Oooh, that is another good food suggestion!

Yes! You love that show too?!

You'll have to tell me how Chefs is!

That is such a great idea for a restaurant!!

The train village is always there. We just never have taken the time to stop and check it out.

Great pictures from around the world.

Thanks!

Phew! That took some time to get through!! You Mega- Poster, you!!

;)

You finally did it! You finally after all these trips got to really spend some time and explore WS!! I knew you'd love it! Isn't Morocco pretty? I could spend days in there!

The candy lady's name is Miyuki and she's the ONLY woman to have ever reached "Master" status in her art.!! She truly IS one of a kind! All the things she makes she gives to children who PATIENTLY wait and ask nicely at her show. We waited for 1/2 hour to see her , and she chose my kids were the first ones chosen to choose an animal at that show. It was amazing!!!

I was thinking just last night about my favorite Pavilion, but couldn't come up with one. I love them ALL!!!

Haha, yes. I was in a writing mood tonight!

I was so excited to spend more time in WS. I agree, Morocco is pretty!

That is so cool about Miyuki! And how neat your kids were chosen!

I think the tip with getting chosen at Miyuki is to be quiet and polite and patient- That's who she likes to choose.

Yes!!! I am looking forward, too, to see what you and Kristin come up with for the hat challenge!!! Between you both you should be able to get WAY more than 10!!! ;)
