Day 5 Continued...
Shockingly we got to our Cinderella’s Royal Table ADR on time at 5:15. This was definitely the meal I looked forward to most because it was in the castle and since we didn’t win a night in the castle, eating in the castle is the next best thing!
We checked in and got the usual congratulations from the CM’s once they spotted our annivesary buttons. They told us to go on inside and get our picture taken with Cinderella and then someone would call our name when it was time to go up to the restaurant. We walked inside and there was barely anywhere to sit, the place was packed with people waiting to take their picture with Cindy herself, except Cindy wasn’t even there. So we waited.
When Cinderella finally emerged everyone rushed to get in line, except that this was the worst excuse of a line I had ever seen! It was just one big mob of people and photographer CM and her assistant were getting mighty annoyed. They kept telling people to stand in a straight line and no one would move. I mean it was not a hard concept and we tried our best to get in the line as straight as we could, but we were at the back of the line so it didn’t really matter what we did. We finally got up the front to take our honorary Cinderella pictures.
Of course she said congratulations to us as well, and I wanted to tell her we had just gotten engaged, but we were rushed through the line so quickly since they had called our name. I am not completely sure but I think we were able to cut the line because our table was ready. We also took a group picture with Cindy, but we didn’t get that one on our cameras.
We finally went up to the restaurant and were quickly seated.
So while we waited for our server to arrive I took some pictures of the restaurant. It is just so pretty in there!
When our server arrived she explained how the menu had changed since the last time we were at CRT and explained to us that now we get a choice of appetizer, entrée, and dessert. She took our drink orders and left us to examine the menu.
For an appetizer we could choose either a BLT Salad, the Castle Salad, a Vegetable Spring Roll, or Corn and Crab Soup. None of those options looked very appetizing to myself or DF. I am not really a fan of BLT sandwiches and the Castle Salad had Bleu Cheese and a Raspberry Vinaigrette, also not a fan! The Veggie Roll sounded disgusting and I didn’t think that Corn and Crab soup would taste very good together. DF doesn’t eat fish so that kind of soup was out of the question. Jeff and Janna were having trouble figuring out what to eat for an appetizer too. I guess we are just common folk who like normal choices for appetizers...you know Salad with Ranch Dressing (preferably that ranch dressing from Hollywood & Vine, yum yum!). Anyways, since an appetizer came with our meal and we had already prepaid for our meal we were going to get our money’s worth and get an appetizer.
In the meantime our server had returned with our drink order and some bread rolls and butter. We were all hungry savages by now so we all launched ourselves to the bread and butter, except that it wasn’t exactly normal butter. It had a sweet taste to it and DF did not like it one bit. I on the other hand thought it was pretty good, but DF wasn’t going to touch it.
Our server returned not to long after to take our orders, DF asked if they had any “regular” butter and she said she would bring it right out. Like I said, we are common folk who don’t want sweet butter, just bring out the Country Crock! When it came time to take our orders I had caved and gotten the Castle Salad sans Bleu Cheese, Cheese Tortellini, and Chocolate Cream Cheese Buckle for dessert. DF got the Spring Roll, Roasted Prime Rib (what a shocker), and the Buckle too. Since Matthew was ordering from the kids menu he got Chicken Noodle Soup...wait a minute...Chicken Noodle Soup, that sounds very common! Jeff asked if he could get he Chicken Noodle even though he is obviously not a child and our server said it was fine. So ALL of us changed our appetizer to Chicken Noodle Soup; 6 adults all ordering from the children’s menu, but it had to be better than that Spring Roll!
Our appetizer came out fairly quickly and the soup was completely worth it! It was very tasty and I wish they would offer it on the regular menu instead of all that fancy stuff! (Off Topic: This is a problem DF and I are running into when choosing our wedding dinner menu, everything has such fancy names and is drizzled with sauces that I can’t even pronounce! So we are constantly asking the catering managers, ‘what is this?’ They can tell we are just a bunch of common folk!) Anyways, back to the TR, soup = good. When our entrée came out I was surprised as to how much the portion of tortellini was, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to finish it. I took one bite and nearly had to spit it out. It was not what I was expecting and I am not a picky eater when it comes to my food, especially pasta. I can’t even really explain what it tasted like but I tried another bite and it got better with each bite so I ended up eating a little bit of it, but left most of it. I was kind of bummed too because my entrée didn’t come with any sides like DF’s. He got yummy mashed potatoes and was loving his Prime Rib dinner, of course being the sweet guy that he is, he offered to share. Jeanne also offered me Matthew’s chicken strips since barely touched his. So there I am sitting in CRT and eating chicken strips.

After we finished our entrée our desserts came out and it was delicious!
In my opinion the food at CRT is not worth the price, but nothing beats eating in the castle and it is definitely a fun place to celebrate an occasion. I may have thought the food was better if I had gotten something other than the tortellini and if I had actually had an appetizer that was on the menu and not the children’s menu. The dessert, however, was delicious and the service was wonderful. I am sure we will be returning on our Honeymoon trip, but I will definitely not be getting tortellini!
While we were eating our desserts the Fairy Godmother and her helpers, Perla and Suzy mouse came out to celebrate! The Fairy Godmother asked who was celebrating a special occasion and they got the usual birthdays, anniversaries, and honeymoons. Of course, DF’s family was making a big deal at our table so the Fairy Godmother came over and asked what we were celebrating. She saw our pins and wished a happy anniversary, we then told her we had just gotten engaged today at Cindy’s fountain and she was thrilled! She made such a big deal about it and everyone was clapping. It was so much fun! The couple behind us were celebrating a 10 year anniversary and they too congratulated us. Another couple next to our table were celebrating their honeymoon and the Fairy Godmother made the comment that our section of the restaurant was the romance section because they had our engagement, the just married couple, and the 10 year anniversary all next to each other!
They starting singing a song about making dreams come true and celebrations or something like that and then Suzy came over to take a picture with us.
Suzy was so cute and so excited about our engagement. She kept putting her hands on her mouth and giggling. She also gave DF a kiss, so we were now even since Goofy had managed to kiss me twice in a day.
We got a pleasant surprise while they were singing the song when our server brought us this special dessert.
It was a chocolate cupcake like thing and was very yummy even though I was full off my other dessert!
We were also given these CRT toasting flutes.
It was so very nice of them to do all that for us, we were not expecting anything whatsoever so it was a pleasant surprise! After we finished our second dessert we decided it was time to get back to the MK fun but first I had to take a picture in what I wished was my home.
DF was standing in the castle lobby while I was coming down the stairs. I must have asked him at least 3 times if we could possibly live in the castle.
After dinner we were so full, but we weren’t about to let that slow us down! The first thing we had to do was see if City Hall could hold our toasting flutes because I was not about to bring those on Space Mountain! DF also wanted to check if they had "Just Engaged" buttons at City Hall, but I told him I didn’t think they did, but it didn’t hurt to try.
We were still very full from dinner so none of us wanted to attempt Space Mountain just yet so we told DF’s family to meet us at The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
On the way to City Hall DF and I stopped for some Photopass pictures near the castle.
We made it to City Hall and asked a CM if they happened to have “Just Engaged” buttons. The CM asked us when we got engaged and we told her that it had just happened that morning which was our 5 year anniversary, hence the anniversary buttons. The CM was very nice and was so excited and happy, but informed us that they didn’t have Just Engaged buttons but then another CM had an idea. She took out their “Just Married” buttons and a permanent sharpie marker. This was the result...
They made us our very own Just Engaged buttons!! I felt so special! Another CM came out with another set of buttons which were discontinued, but he said they used to give them to engaged couples and we could have them as well.
We asked them if they could store our toasting flutes from CRT and they gladly took them off our hands. The CMs in City Hall were so nice and friendly, they made us feel so happy and it was very nice of them to make us our own buttons!
DF and I decided to just wear the anniversary and engaged buttons because wearing three buttons would be a little overkill! With our buttons securely on we made our way back down Main Street when it started to rain. Good thing DF’s mom had given me a rain poncho to hold on to, so I put it on and DF and I had to take pictures in it!
Before we knew it we were back in Fantasyland and back with our group. We used our FP for Pooh’s Adventure and entered our honey pot. I had completely forgot how this ride makes me feel seasick! It was no smooth ride at all! It bounced me all around and remember we were all so full from dinner and we didn’t want to ride Space Mountain in fears that our stomachs wouldn’t be ready for it, but I think Space Mountain would have been welcomed after riding those honey pots!

Of course Pooh’s ride was stopped for about 5 minutes while we were in Pooh’s dream, but soon enough we were off that ride feeling quite nauseous. I told DF that that is one ride we will not need to do again on this trip!
I felt much better once I had some fresh air and we made our way to Tomorrowland to use our Space Mountain FPs. On the way we grabbed another FP for Buzz Lightyear because we are obsessed with that ride and DF and Jeff had some kind of bet of who was going to get the higher score...boys.
We grabbed our FP’s for Buzz and then got in line for Space Mountain, which was a good thing because the rain was really coming down now and I was scared that Wishes would be cancelled and I was really looking forward to Wishes! But there was no time to really worry about Wishes because before I knew it we were in the loading area of Space Mountain, there was barely any line, I guess the rain had scared everyone away, but not us, we love Disney in the rain, much less crowded!!
We got into our seats, which I hate because I have to sit alone and I am the biggest baby, and soon enough we were off! I just love Space Mountain, I laugh the entire time I am on it, but mainly because I am laughing at DF screaming, “Yee Haw” behind me. The best part of the ride is that it is in the dark and you really don’t know what is coming next.
After Space Mountain it was still raining so we stayed in the gift shop for a little bit. While we were shopping DF told me that he wanted to get one of those laser etched cubes with our picture inside of it, which they do in the Space Mountain gift shop. I told him I was definitely not taking a picture right now, I was all sweaty and the rain had ruined my hair! We decided that we would take it first thing in the morning the next time we were in MK, which would be our final Disney day.
We noticed the rain had died down so we headed over to Buzz to ride it for a second time. I did better this time around, but still only got 30,000 points and that is because the ride stopped in one of the rooms and I had a lot of time to at all the targets, that is why 30,000 points is still very sad while DF had some 600,000,000,000 or something like that. Of course after the ride I had to laugh at DF’s picture again because it looked exactly like the one from the earlier ride, he had that determined look. I am so mad at myself and I just wish I bought that picture!
After Buzz we all decided to head over to Fantasyland to see if we could get on Peter Pan’s Flight, Small World, and Philharmagic before Wishes at 10:00. PhilharMagic had no wait at all so we walked right into the theater, got our 3-D glasses and waited for the doors to open. We sat on the floor as we waited and I noticed how tired my feet were, it was the first time I noticed it all day. It was hard to get up when the doors opened though, I was pretty comfy on that floor! We love PhilharMagic though, it is the best 3-D show and my favorite one by far! All the scents and effects are just great and I love Donald. I am always amazed when I see this show.
We walked out of the theater and thank goodness the rain had stopped so we walked over to Peter Pan’s flight, but there was a 40 minute wait and no FP machines were running for that ride that day. We were not about to wait in that line so we went across the way to Small World, which had a 5 minute wait. I guess I fall in the category of people who love Small World. I know you either love it or hate it and I got to say that I love it, but I especially love it when there is only a 5 minute wait. I have to say, do Fantasyland at night especially after a rain storm because it was pretty empty, except for Peter Pan. We found Peter Pan always had a line no matter what time of day (more on that later in the TR though). Small World was fun as always, very relaxing and beautiful to look at. Whenever I go on it I notice something new that I had not noticed before.
After Small World DF and I decided to split off from the rest of the group and find a spot for Wishes which was about to start in 25 minutes. We told everyone we would meet them at City Hall after the park closed at midnight. DF and I made it to the front of the castle and obviously couldn’t find any seats so we stood in front of the castle to watch Wishes in each others arms.
Of course, I cried while watching it because all my wishes had come true that day and I felt like that show was speaking directly to me. I always get teary eyed when I see it, but this time I flat out cried at the end, but of course they were nothing but happy tears of joy. Oh how I just love Wishes and I was so glad it wasn’t cancelled! It was one of my favorite parts of the entire day by far.
SpectroMagic wasn’t going to start until 11:00 and we still had a good 40 minutes to spare. I asked DF if we could possibly go ride Pirates again because I didn’t really remember riding it earlier in the day. Of course, we rode PoC while I was in lala land that morning. DF agreed so we trotted back over to Adventureland and walked right onto Pirates just as we suspected we would have.
The second time around was much better for me, I actually remember seeing Capt. Jack Sparrow on this ride now thanks to our late night ride. I cannot believe how much it looks like Johnny Depp, it is so crazy how they do that!
After Pirates we went back to Main Street to do some shopping I bought DF a snow globe for our anniversary and some postcards for everyone back home.
Here is the snow globe for DF, I thought it was very fitting for the occasion that day.
After our brief shopping spree we found some curb and took a seat. We were both so exhausted from the entire day that we didn’t even take pictures of SpectroMagic, neither of us had the energy. It was to just watch the parade and take in all the sights and sounds with my new fiancé.
After SpectroMagic we met everyone at City Hall and picked up our toasting flutes.Luckily we found a bench to sit on as we waited for Jeanne and Matthew to arrive. By 12:15 we walked out of the park, hopped the monorail back to the TTC and hopped the tram back to our car.
When we got back to our rental home DF and I were suddenly hungry so we offered to run and get some Taco Bell for everyone. We also remembered that I needed some new sunscreen since mine was old so we also stopped at Walgreens. From Taco Bell I of course got a quesadilla and it tasted so good for my 1:30 AM snack, hey we were on vacation do not judge us!
For whatever reason we were now wide awake and completely slap happy, we were just laughing at anything and everything, I think that is what happens to us when we are overly tired. We delivered the food back to the troops and all ate in the living room reliving the events of the day. We all decided that tomorrow we would sleep in a little since this day had been so long!
DF’s mom also gave us a present that she had bought for us while at MK.
It is engraved with the date and our names. The base lights up and changes colors, it is so pretty! It was very sweet of her to get that for us.
After our “4th Meal” everyone decided to go to bed, but DF and I were wide awake so we went swimming. By the time we were done swimming, showered, and ready for bed it was nearly 4:00 AM and I was now ready for bed.
It had been such a long day, but so perfect, I could not have asked for a better anniversary. And with nothing but happy thoughts, I fell asleep in the arms my fiancé.
