Our Magical Trip of a Million Dreams, Wishes & Surprises~Engaged at Disney(6/26 p30)

We were in the section with the characters on the wall and the huge windows. It was at 6 but we got out of there at like 7 something I want to say.

What a great story. I sure hope DF writes his trip report. What a cool thing.

so loved the pictures of the proposal in front of the fountain. See making wishes in the most Magical Place in the World do come true. Congrats again. Agree that Prince Charming should write his take of the proposal.

If you left at 7:00 then you probably walked right passed us while we were waiting. Too cool! :thumbsup2

I hope DF writes his version too, he still needs some convincing though!! :wizard:

I always knew it was a magical fountain, that is why I always threw pennies into it!! :rotfl2:

I hope you are still sticking with me and I have to apologize for being so pokey with getting these installments out. Next one will be up ASAP, and I am still trying to convince DF to write his version of the proposal, but we have been so busy lately!!

Who knew choosing ceremony/reception venues could cause such a headache!!! :headache: We think we found the perfect place to host our day, the thing is it is pretty pricey. We've been shopping around and found some other "reasonable" priced venues, but we aren't in love with them like we are the other place. So our planning has pretty much hit a standstill because we cannot decide what to do. I have spent the entire morning looking for other options besides the places we have visited and nothing compares. We are trying to stay level headed because we know that we still need to buy a house and plan that amazing Disneymoon, BUT it is our only wedding day and we just love the location. I feel like I am going out of my mind, and I haven't started the real planning yet or student teaching. I just keep telling myself it will all work out in the end because that seems to calm me down.

I am sorry everyone for venting, but isnt that what the DIS is for sometimes? :rotfl2:

I promise to get the next installment up soon! Thanks everyone for commenting and continuing to read. :thumbsup2

Thats all right Vent Away come on we can take it:lmao:

I am not sure if you have consider this but if you have it on a week day like a friday it is much much cheaper than on a sat. or sunday. If that sounds like a meet in the middle kind of thing for both of you.

We are still with you.:goodvibes
Sounds like you have a full plate with wedding and student teaching.
My books for the fall semester just came in the mail, and I'm already stressing and school doesn't start for 4 weeks. :wizard:

Since I'm pretty sure we won't be invited to the wedding... ...are there any websites that you can share of where you are looking into holding your ceremony and/or reception?

I'm in (subscribing)!! I love this report - and it's nice to 'meet' you :flower3:

My BF and I are taking our trip in September - his parents will be with us for the first half, so it's nice to read a similar story. Except that I've never met his parents before...:rolleyes1

Congratulations on your engagement! What a great story to tell your grandkids :goodvibes

DM, as you requested here are some links to the places we have seen and plan on seeing.

DF and I like to be different. Every wedding I have ever been to in my life was at a church and then a banquet hall...I swear I have been to so many weddings and they are all the same. Now we have looked at Banquet Halls but we always go back and say "Do we really want to be like everyone else.." So we started looking at Mansions. :rolleyes1 And it is the Mansion we fell in love with!

But it is way too expensive and we do not want to be in the poor house right off the bat! :rotfl2:

We have been to three banquets too...

www.thestonegate.com (We are not doing it there, they were very rude and unapproachable!)

http://www.venutisbanquets.com (This place would make my parents happiest because it is so "Italian" and they do everything to their Italian ways. )

http://www.theseville.com/ (They were really a great deal and threw in so many extras (ie: sweet table, ice sculptures, etc) for free...but it was just your regular run of the mill banquet hall and I have been to so many events there.)

We haven't visited this place, but we will soon. It is another Mansion with it seems more reasonable prices. I dont want to get my hopes up though!

I really just want to get this all figured out before student teaching and since we want a June wedding, and everyone else in Illinois apparently wants a June wedding, they are alreadying starting to fill the June 2009 dates. :upsidedow I think I tell DF everyday that I want to elope to Disney! :rotfl:

Go figure, a wedding at a church :). I think that no matter where you have the wedding it will be special because it's your day. Of all of the places you've shown, I love the Italian place. It looks very elegant. You've picked beautiful choices. Oh to have those choices when we got married. Our reception was at the Elk's Lodge, and we weren't allowed to decorote those Elk heads :).

By the way, loving your trip report!

Thanks for all the links! I hope you find a mansion that fits in your price range!
Have you checked out any bed and breakfasts? Some will do wedding on their grounds, and it's great for your out of town guests since everything is in the same place. My Cousin did that and it worked out very nicely.
Good luck! Keep us posted!

Thanks for the links. I will be sure to check them out when I get caught up on these subbed threads!!! :thumbsup2

So maybe ya should....Elope to Disney!!!:bride:
Mansions are beautiful. Whatever you decide on

Ohhhhh I love me some wedding!!! I used to be a wedding consultant and also a bridal consultant......this brings back so many memories!!! :goodvibes

Whatever you do....I am sure it will be so special! You two are such a cute couple! Don't forget to save some dough $$ for the house!!! ;) The wedding only lasts a day but the marriage and house are everyday!!!
