Arrived on Friday, the 15th. Checked into Polynesian. In hindsight I should have been more assertive about my room assignment. But, hey...I'm in WDW, so what's the big deal.
Went over to MK right away and did quite a bit. Dd loved that Big Thunder was her first ride of the trip. Caught Spectro at it's ending spot. Thanks to DU we went over to Liberty Sq. to watch the fireworks. Got a great view of Tinkerbell flying. And the fireworks were terrric. Having Mickey waving good-by as we left the park was truly magical. It was hot but not as bad as I thought it would be.
On Sat we went over to AK. Really hot/humid. So didn't mind getting really soaked on Kali. But the stand-by wait said 25 minutes. We waited an hour and then the ride broke down!! Another 20 minutes waiting. Saw Festival of the Lion King show and loved it. Also Pocahontas show for the first time. Back to Polynesian for a swim and Chef Mickey's for dinner. Loved CM's. Then over to MK to finish the night.
Sunday was EE for MK so we did most of Fantasy Land before our 9:15 ps for CRT. It started getting pretty humid so we left for the pool. Then over to MGM for dinner at 50's. It was just okay. But we loved One Man's Dream. Brought a tear to my eye!! Fantasmic was immensly crowded. Since our server was somewhat slow at 50's we were late getting to the show. We got there about 45 minutes before showtime and they were starting standing room only!! We lucked out and a cm seated us in handicapped seating!!! Getting out was a nightmare but loved the closeness of the Polynesian bus-stop!!
Monday we went to SeaWorld. Used the Lynx bus system. Left from TTC. Liked the park. It was very nice. Getting back was just as easy as getting there. Decided to go over to MK for the late night. But the rain got really miserable after awhile so we left at 8:30.
Tuesday I did laundry!!! Started running out of clothes due to the wetness of the weather. Then over to MGM. Did Disney Animation. Long wait but it was worth it. Also did ToT for the first time. Wow! That was fun. That afternoon we had a trail ride at Fort Wilderness. We got lost getting there, but they waited for us. We were the last three in the line of about 12. Poor dd, 9, was last. I asked the guide what happens if a thunder-storm happens. So, she called home base and was told it was all clear weather-wise. Well!!!! 5 minutes later the skies opened. It was hard, side-ways rain. THen the thunder started. You should have seen everyone trying to make a u-turn on horseback. Too funny. We were completey soaked. Our feet were squishing in our sneakers and we were still on the horses!!!! But, they gave us towels and refunded our money. Have to say that was really nice since the ride is supposed to be for 45 minutes and we were out for 35! That night we had a terrific meal at Artist Point and dd went to Neverland Club. THis is one of her favorite things to do. THe only way I could get her out of there was to tell her she could catch the last 5 minutes of American Juniors on TV!!!!
Wednesday...Kona Cafe for breakfast. Yum!!!! THen on to Typhoon Lagoon. We did Blizzard Beach last trip. We like Typhoon much better. Once I got pulled over and landed on top of some poor man and shoved my hand up his bathing suit!!! If he is reading this....I'm soooo sorry!!!! Have to say it sure does get crowded by noon. We left and waited an eternity for a bus back to Polynesian. As we waited they took someone away in the ambulance! Over to Epcot. We actually got to ride Mission Space. It was wonderful!! THen dinner at Garden Grill and a rehitching. Poor dh didn't know about it and tried to tell server she had the wrong table!!! Food was pretty good. THen we had an IllumiNations cruise. Hi Gayle!!! Loved meeting you and your family. It was a wonderful experience. Will definatly do that again. Loved ambling back through Epcot and getting the monorail back to Polynesian.
Thursday...THis was our Epcot day. Got there for EE and got in line for Mission Space. Dh didn't want to do it again so he got fast-passes for Test Track. Both were wonderful. Went on to World Showcase after doing Universe of Energy and Wonders of Life. Started in Mexico this time. Fewer people this way. Dd did the Passport for the first time and loved it. Got to France and the bakery and the skies opened. I wanted to get a photo of dh and dd in their ponchos, in the rain, enjoying Epcot. Two men came up and asked if I would like them to take a shot of the three of us. So nice of them. (dh thought they were going to steal the camera! What a cynic) Did Spaceship Earth. A must do for me. And tried IceStation Cool this time. Beverly...yuck!!!!!!!
Then back to Polynesian for the Luau. It was just okay. Wouldn't do it again.
Friday...Ee for AK. We did Kilamanjaro Safari at opening. Much better early in the day!! THen over to DinoLand. Did rides there before have Donald's Breakfastasuarus. Wonderful meal. Will be doing that one again. Then back to Polynesian for a break and then to MK for the night. It was rainy. Dd had her hair cut at the barberhshop. It was a lot of fun. We got ready to board the raft to Tom Sawyers Island when they shut it down due to lightning. So, we went to Hall of Presidents. Sat through the movie part and when it came time to illuminate the presidents...yep, it broke down!!! So over to Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. It was a torrential downpour at this time with thunder/lightning. Dinner was fine. Good characters. We did E-night in the rain. It was a hoot! Wet and happy!!! A great way to spend our last night.
Saturday..over to Chef Mickeys for breakfast. Got seated early. Terrific meal. We realized that dd hadn't gotten to see Ariel yet. So, we decided to walk over to MK. Dh didn't want to go, so he went back to resort. We got to MK at 8:30. THey started the preopening show about 8:40. They sang the 'good morning song' that I sing to my dd in the morning to wake her up. Her face was priceless when they sang 'her' song. Then the Mouse opened the park 15 minutes early!! We were able to get Pinochio's autograph, Timon's, and Robin Hood's. These were all firsts for dd. Did all of Fantasy Land again, with no waits. Then, we noticed someone at the Grotto. They opened it 25 minutes early!!! No wait again. Got to see Ariel in 8 minutes total time. Then over to ToonTown. Waited about 5 minutes when the Hundred Acre Woods characters came out. I had just been thinking that we hadn't seen any of them this whole trip. Well, Tigger grabbed my dd and danced down the street to their photo area!!! THen over to Goofy's Barnstormer. No wait again. Walked over to Frontier Land and did Tom Sawyer's Island, finally. Took the train back to Main St. Talk about a magical morning!!!! Dh was really sorry he hadn't joined us. TT was right on time (boo!!!) picking us up. We were sorry to be leaving but we were really pooped.
