Our Magical Mulligan Trip!!

I hope you had a good evening...

Not much longer now and you'll actually be embarking on this magical mulligan...

I'm happy for you that you and your guys get this doover...

Wdw is uber magical at christmastime. I'm sending you some prayers and pixiedust for great weather and smooth sailing...

Ahhh...thank you my friend! And back atcha for your Christmas journey! I just can't wait to go!!! And this weather that is coming our way the next few days only makes me want to go more!!

HEY, I posted yesterday, and now it's gone :confused3 So far, my week has been riddled with computer issues. :badpc:

Anyway.... I'm so jealous of your pre-trip packing! My usual routine is to pack 3 weeks in advance, then whittle down to what we really need by the time we leave. I haven't been able to do that this time because I can't get a good read on the weather. AND, I only have 5 pair of jeans. Which I need to wear this long weekend. But I could get started on food items, couldn't I? Thanks for the influence! ;)

So, anything new to report? How'd you make out with an ADR for the last night? popcorn::

Nope :sad2: nothing new to report...I tried calling for HoopDeeDo and they're booked for the 5pm seating, but have a 7:15 and I thought that'd be cutting it too close since we have to be at the WL between 9 and 9:15...

I'm not done though...still dialing for dining...

I've been checking the weather too...looks a little chilly first few days, but not bad though. Capri's I think...we'll see...I have a little bit of everything strewn all over my spare bedroom! This weekend my goal is to have all the bags packed and lined up against the wall and waiting for Wednesday night to load the car and go on Thursday. Unfortunately I have to work and it's looking like ALL day too. Don't they understand my need for speed? To be South Bound and Down?? :confused3 I just don't get it.

They're going to make me EARN this vacation too - looks like I may have to work this Friday to catch up/get ahead (all at the same time!)

I can't pack my jeans either so don't feel so bad...I wear them for work every day so guess who's FREAKING out right about now wondering if I'll be naked coming to work next week?? I really need to whittle down my packing job as well!!

OR....I could go to Penney's and just BUY a couple of extra pairs of jeans...:scratchin Hmmmmm....

Well, back to dialing for dining!! I'll be back later!

Hi there!

I'm thinking about you as I watch the Philly parade today...kelly ripa was talking about her doing the wdw Christmas parade :)

And I thought wow! Only a couple days and you get to leave!

So I thought if pop in and check your progress...

I feel your pain with the clothes issue...just before every vacation I find myself wearing my really old never worn any other time outfits to work and around the house...

Happy turkey day all!

Much thanks! I hope your Thanksgiving was a good one!

Sadly, I don't get the Philly parades down here...I can't even get my NY channels...VERY disappointing...I think when you pay big bucks for Dish Network, you should be allowed to pick what areas of the country you can "tune in" to.
I was born and raised in NY and grew up with Sue Simmons, Jack Cafferty, etc... and was able to get my NY stations on my dish in NH for 10 years...one thing I will miss....the Mummers Parade! Back in the late 80's I moved to PA and lived out there for a few years and then a few years in Trenton, NJ. My first Mummers Parade hooked me (I don't really know why...maybe because it's so different?) and I watched it each year while I able to...here...NOTHING.

Ah well....ANYWHOOOO... I'm getting ready to do what will be probably my last BIG post for pre-trip report...

Here goes....

Ok gang...my ticker says there's only 5 days left!!

Wooooo Hoooooo!!!!! :woohoo: I'm so excited I can barely contain myself! I always get like this before I go back to my happy place, but this trip is different...I have never been to WDW for the holidays so I'm even more excited! I'm thinking it's a good thing that I booked this trip for the holidays since this will be our first Christmas here in North Carolina and we will be alone. Really alone. No family. No friends in the area stopping by. We used to have an annual Christmas party at our house with the same group of friends...all of our kids would play together and open their gifts while the grown ups would enjoy good food and good drinks and a lot of laughs. I will miss that. It's too expensive to fly home to NY to visit with my family and I can't...just can't...drive 16 or 17 hours up there to visit for a couple of days and turn around and do it again...ARGH...

Ahem...so where was I? Ah yes...holidays with the Mouse!! So far, I'm off to a good running start this weekend. With the exception of a load of white clothes that I have to do later on today (I should really be doing that RIGHT NOW), DS and I are all packed...I packed us both up on Thanksgiving day while their turkey was cooking. I have a smaller suitcase for an overnight stop somewhere on our way down Thursday if we can't drive straight through and clothes for Friday day and Friday night. And then have suitcases for the rest of our stay. I thought just a small one to carry in to the AKL rather than all 16 suitcases for one night. Naw...I don't really have 16, but it will feel that way to DH as he carries them all down the stairs and out to the car!

I almost got busted by the way...my Animal Kingdom Lodge stay was almost discovered by DH!! GASP!!

I've got my days planned out...my Disney calendar has been tweaked and laminated to prevent me from making any more changes!!! It's shrunken down to a handy size - maybe 3x4, along with each days itineraries....I was cutting them out and getting ready to put in my Passport binder when DH looked at the calendar...he demanded to know WHY I have us leaving Thursday night when it clearly says on my calendar that we're not checking in to the Poly until Saturday? Hmmm....good question. I tried to explain that I had to put that info in Saturday's block as I couldn't fit all my reservation information on Friday...? I'm not sure he bought it, but I seriously don't think he suspects the AKL...I'm not sure how I'll pull it off, but I'll drive this baby until it craps out on me!

So my calendar and daily itineraries are now laminated and I can see why V is going to thread hers on a ring...they're slippery little suckers! My DH thinks I am completely insane after having seen all that...I have a bunch of LGMH's...some are laminated luggage tags, already hanging from my baggalini and stroller, etc....others may be for hotel windows/doors...

All of my Mousekeeping envelopes have been printed and stuffed and sealed and are tucked safely away. I've even put aside a tip for the sleigh ride driver already so I don't have to worry about that either.

I have spoken to the good folks at Disney Dining. It's gotten to the point where I simply call to say hello now...don't want them to wonder if I'm ok just because I haven't called! pirate:

Here's my final plan...well, of course, it's always subject to change!! :rotfl:

Friday - 1st - Check in to AKL, dinner @ Boma

Sat. - 2nd - Epcot day (at some point check into Poly - perhaps after CP show). Coral Reef for a late lunch followed by CP at 5.

Sunday - 3rd - Animal Kingdom day! Sneak preview showing of the new Nemo Musical, and dinner at Rainforest Cafe @ 4:30...Tambu Lounge at the Poly that evening! :drinking1 Yummmm....Mai Tai's...

Monday - 4th - MGM day! Date night! DS is going to the Neverland Club and DH and I have dinner at Flying Fish (formerly Brown Derby, formerly Shula's, formerly Mama Melrose, etc., etc.) and possibly Jellyrolls afterward. I'm kind of digging the idea of going to Jellyrolls...we've never been...something new and different!

Tuesday - 5th - This is our MVMCP night so we'll be taking it easy during the day...DS has the Jester Cruise at 9 at POR so DH and I will grab b'fast there. We have a late lunch/early dinner at CP at 2:30 - the only ADR I could get for any of the MK restaurants so I jumped on it.

Wednesday - 6th - 10am b'fast at O'Hana's....free day again...no plans...maybe take in Xmas decorations at other resorts? 3:30 dinner at House of Blues followed by the early LaNouba show.

Thursday - 7th - All MK, all the time...no ADR's for this day...I may, just may call and see if we can squeeze WCC into our day here...no dinner plans either...Hmmm....do you guys know how much having this big empty space on my calendar is just eating away at my brain??? Maybe an in-room pizza party? Let's see how we can do one day by the seat of our pants...will our Heroine be able to survive?? Will our gang of travelers STARVE TO DEATH? Tune in to the actual trip report to find out! :lmao:

Friday - 8th - Don't really have any day time plans...maybe Typhoon Lagoon (we'll see if the weather is warm enough) or a catch up day at some park...DS goes to Neverland Club again and DH and I have a 6pm ADR at Artist Point...hopefully PI that night....I really want to go back to the Adventurer's Club again! :thumbsup2

Saturday - 9th - Yet another "free" or catch up day...seems like I'm making a habit of this...We check out of the Poly and in to the All Star Sports...We have a 6pm ADR at Narcoosee's, followed by the WL sleigh ride at 9:30...hoping to view Wishes from the GF while we're there....we'll see...

My theme park plans are all written down and laminated and all go "to the left". The only must-do's are the things we missed last time...which could practically fill our days up anyway, and a few special ones...DS insists that he ride BTMR if he does nothing else. That's my boy!!! :thumbsup2

Our new planning DVD arrived the other day...needed several tissues to watch the thing! I think it's much better than last years. We (DS and I) watch these planning DVD's like they're any other movie :happytv: ...drinks :drinking1, popcorn popcorn:: and a lot of dreaming and wishing..."Oh I want to go on that" "me too!!", etc. etc...so we're ready to go...mentally and (almost) physically.

I've wrapped small stocking stuffers that will appear in DS's stocking each night, that is, IF the stocking ever shows up...I'm FREAKING out...it's not here yet...I didn't buy a little tree...don't know if I will or not...I'm thinking that I probably won't if I haven't already...KWIM?

So that's the plan fellow Mouseketeers....full enough to make me feel like I've got plans, but loose enough to satisfy DH, I think...We'll see about that!!

Ok gang...I'm off to go and do that last load of laundry and finalize my and DS's packing!!! Later Gators!!!

Sounds like a great plan. Plenty of down time for you DH. If the weather is ok, the water at TL is heated to 83 degrees. . . so it should be warm!

They are selling little trees in the Dollar Spot at Target - the trees are $2.50, a pack of ornaments is $2.50 and then you get a string of lights with batteries for $2.50. . . cheap! And they come in different colors, standard green and some metallic colors.

Thanks for the tip on the trees...I may swing by there one day during the week...I wasn't about to even attempt to go near Target this weekend, that's for sure!

We put our Christmas lights up outside today....how strange hanging lights on your house in a tank top...it was hot out! Hard to get used to...but am ENJOYING it!! :thumbsup2 Tomorrow I'll do the tree and finish the inside of the house and then I won't have to worry about it after we get back.

All that's left to do now is watch the clock slowly tick by the next few days!! :hyper:

Wow...after your reading your TR here, I am afraid I have not done enough planning of my own!! Hahaha. I think I better sit down and review my itinerary and ADRs. What to do, what to do!!! I am so flipping excited, is it time to go yet?? LOL.

Looking forward to reading your TR soon!!! Hope you add lots of pictures!! I am a photo freek..hahaha! Have a great time on your vacation!

Just wait till you see what my ring looks like! I never made it to the laminator machine so I had to improvise. It's um... interesting. (More details on this to be revealed in my TR... soon-ish!)

I have some bad news and some good news. The bad news is the Law of V strikes again: forecast is for temps in the high 70's until I arrive, then highs in the 60's 12/1-12/6. The good news is I'll be taking that cold front with me, so you should be in good shape for swimming this day! :sunny:

I'm loving your plan! And I absolutely can't wait to hear all about your Mulligan adventures, sans Cruella and Horace this time  I just know it's going to be great :goodvibes

Yes - should be interesting...haven't quite figured out what I'm going to do...maybe just pull up to the guard and say we've got ressies for Boma and then maybe excuse myself somehow, check in and take the boys on a walking tour and somehow end up at our room? I dunno...:confused3

Ooooh...this should be GOOD...can't wait! Does it involve you, a cocktail and an entire roll of scotch tape?

And don't you think for one second that I haven't been blaming YOU for that 15 day forecast I've been checking every hour and a half!!

Awwwww...you're sweet! DS is so excited...it's all he's talking about. Yesterday while I was at work, he had DH help him "pack"...he has an entire bag - kind of backpack sized - that he loaded up with a mess of toys to bring and then he left the bag in our spare room right next to the rest of the suitcases. How cute is that? My boy's an early packer just like me!!! Kinda brings a tear to my eye!

DH hasn't started packing yet...on purpose I think...he knows it makes me crazy! I think I will pack a change of clothes for him in the "secret overnight bag" though...hope he likes what I pick!!

Later Gator!

Hello again!

Your plan looks great! Perfect for keeping everybody happy...

If I may, I have a couple more suggestions for you...

When you get to akl send the boys out back to the safari area, its just beyond the registration desks but downstairs so they'll never see you check in.

And for your Thursday mk day, maybe get breakfast at the main street bakery. We've had breakfast there and they have a great selection. I presume you'll be calling wcc for ressies for later that day right?

Is there gonna be a minimeet out of this new friendship you now have with v? Enquiring minds wanna know...

My husband and I have spoken about possibly moving to nc one day...I feel your pain regarding the parades, I would totally miss Philly if we were to move anywhere out of this area...we've never lived anywhere else. Burlington county born and raised baby!

I cant believe you are leaving in 3 days- yes i wish it was me. I was there this time last year. Love all the decorations!! We will be there 1st week in January though.

You have made me think that I have to go and make more reservations, but I do have a lets just go with the flow family. Guess that is why I have never been able to get resevations at Le Celler

Have a great time. Cant wait to read your new TR :thumbsup2

You're on the right track! I meant to take a pic, but never got to it. A full description is available in written format, however.

AAAHHH, but have you seen it lately?? Now it's looking like highs in the 80's most days :sunny: This may be the year the Law of V is borken after all!

This is too cute to picture! :goodvibes My DS found me packing his clothes last night. I asked if he'd like to help... "No thanks - you can do it." was his response.
