Sorry I haven't posted in a while...Will and I have been battling fevers and sore throats. The Dr thinks it's just a virus and not strep throat. I'm not sure what it is, but we have been pretty miserable. Now both kids have a viral rash all over their legs. Anyway, I'm going to try to get back on track now. Also, thank you to everyone who has been replying! I appreciate all of the compliments and kind words. I can't figure out how to reply to multiple posts in one post...I need some DIS lessons! On with the show!

June 5th, Mama Melrose

We came here for the Fantasmic dinner package and I am so glad we did. This turned out to be a great experience for everyone. To start, all the kids got glowing drinks. Here's Will enjoying his orange juice:

We all got different appetizers, which basically means we got the whole menu. Billy and I both got the calamari. I love calamari, and this was pretty good. We didn't really care for the sauce it came with but we loved the peppers and stuff they put on top. Not the best I've ever had, but by no means bad.

DFIL got the Tomatoes and Mozzarella. He enjoyed this and ate every bite.

DMIL got the Caesar salad. This was a big for a salad and she liked it.

Both Sam and Sophie got the Vegetarian Minestrone for their appetizer and neither one would touch it. So, Will ended up eating two bowls of this. My son ate two bowls full of beans for dinner. This will come into play the next day in the Magic Kingdom during what I will call "the diaper incident". Anyway, this was really tasty if you are into beans, which Will apparently is.

My mom got the bruschetta, which she thought was OK.

They also brought us lots of FREE bread, which was good and hot. Why does everyone always complain about the lack of free bread at MM?? We had tons of it. They must have changed their policy. It comes with olive oil but they did bring us some butter.

My kids are very unhappy right now...I will post more ASAP. Lots more good MM pics coming soon!

Let's see if I can get a few more pictures up! On onto our Mama Melrose entrees.

Billy got the Spicy Italian Sausage. He really liked it and said it was actually spicy. The cheese on top was great, kind of like a goat cheese but it tasted like blue cheese.

My mom, Amanda and I all got the Penne Alla Vodka. This was so good. One thing I noticed about all of our food is that it was all really hot. I hate it when your food comes out cold, or just lukewarm. This was a huge portion and full of pancetta. Everyone loved it.

DFIL got the Charred Butcher Tender Steak, with red pepper polenta and asparagus. It had some blue cheese on top. He loved it, and ate it all except for three pieces of asparagus that I stole. So Good! They cooked it perfectly.

DMIL got the wood grilled chicken. She was a little disappointed, not because it didn't taste good, but because she thought it would be a chicken breast with a side of pasta. The menu does kind of read like that. Will also loved eating this.

Lots of us got the tiramisu. It was good, but I hate to say that Olive Garden is better. I enjoyed it because it was cold, creamy and fattening.

DFIL got the ricotta cheesecake. It was wonderful! I would suggest getting this over the other dessert options. Yum!

This is the Warm Truffle Chocolate Cake. My sister loved this. I tasted it, and it was ok, but realize I'm not much of a chocolate lover.

Billy got the spumoni ice cream. He claims it was gelato. We are arguing this point right now. Dang! I just looked at allearsnet, it's gelato. He says it was "good".

Here's what Gemma thought of our meal:

Mama Melrose's was great. We really had a good meal and I'm glad I didn't switch our reservation. I had read some bad reviews on the DIS and I got worried, but I couldn't decide what to do, so I just stuck with our original plan. It was the right thing to do.

wow, whatta great report and awesome pics... it's a good thing i just ate dinner or i'd be drooling worse than i already am (somehow my shake 'n bake chicken and risotto just doesn't compare! LOL!)... MM was one of our best meals of our trip when we went last aug/sept... i am already looking forward to it...

if i read correctly this was on the Fantasmic Dinner Package... is there not a limited menu for that package? or was there previously but no longer? methinks i'm confused!

He has always liked to eat black beans and refried beans, but I had no idea he would eat kidney beans and chickpeas! The next day at the MK we had a 12-wipe diaper situation. It was unreal.

It was the Fantasmic Dinner Package. What they do now is let you order one appetizer, one entree, one dessert, and one non-alcoholic beverage. You get to use the regular menu, not a special one. When we did this in 2005, they brought out a big bowl of salad and everyone had to split a flatbread, and then order off the special menu. I enjoyed this time more, because we got more choices.

Great update! LOVE the MM pictures - you are so "descriptive" in your reviews and I am so enjoying that! Only thing is now I want to switch our H&V ADR for MM!!! LOL!!! DH is saying "leave our itenerary alone woman!" But, if I switch it and don't tell him until we get there, then there won't be much that can be done about it, right? Not that I would do that . . .

12 wipes!!! Poor little guy, his tummy couldn't have been feeling too good. My grandson ALWAYS comes to me with diapers like that lol.
