I thought I'd post a trip report now since there are probably other couples wondering about how Disney treats their honeymooners. Our honeymoon was from 8/27-9/3. I am 26 and my husband is 27.

We decided to book the Disney Resort package and stayed at the Port Orleans French Quarter. We loved the length of stay pass we got with the package and it allowed us to do so much more than we would normally do on a typical trip. We originally booked our airfare with the package but then I found the airfare online $300 cheaper for the same flights.

Okay, we left Kansas City at 7am and landed in Orlando nearly 30 minutes earlier than planned. We rented a car at National and made our way to check into the hotel.

We arrived around noon but they immediately gave us our room and we got settled in and walked around the hotel grounds for 10-15 minutes. We returned to the room to find a box of chocolates and a picture of Minnie and Mickey in their wedding outfits with a signed note. It was so sweet!! AT POFQ we were given a king room overlooking the water. We had no guests on either side of us until the end of our trip. It was very romantic having our own little corner of the hotel.

Our first night we planned on going on an Illuminations Cruise with Supamaki and his wife. We met at the Yacht Club and headed down for our cruise. It was a gorgeous night and they were such a terrific couple!!! The cruise gave us the best view of the fireworks and it was definitely the perfect way to start our honeymoon.

After the cruise we went with Supamaki and his wife to Jellyrolls and had a few drinks. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and had a great time. By now it was probably midnight and we decided to head back to our hotel. We were exhausted from being up so early!!

We exchanged numbers with Supamaki and his wife but unfortunately lost it! Brian and I were both upset because they were so much fun and they were also on their honeymoon! Just great people.

DAY # 2.....

We got up and ate in the food court, the food there was actually very good and reasonably priced. We got the refillable mugs after we checked in and so we made many visits to the food court during our trip.

We decided to spend the day at Epcot. We really took our time and looked around at everything we missed on our previous trip. It was very enjoyable. We left Epcot in the afternoon and then came back to the room to clean up for dinner.

We had ps for Artist Point so we made our way over to the Wilderness Lodge. I really liked the hotel but we disliked Artist Point. My husband ordered the salmon and I had the shrimp. Neither one of us ate much of our dinners and we actually ordered a pizza when we got back to POFQ because we were so hungry for good food. Anyway, it was an expensive experience.

After we had our pizza I believe we did the E-night at MK. We rode a lot of rides and it was so nice to be in the parks with hardly any crowds at all. No waits on any rides.

More to come.....

First of all, congratulations!! :) Secondly, thanks for posting. An Illuminations cruise sounds like the perfect way to start a honeymoon. I just loved the view from under the bridge. I'm surprised to hear you didn't enjoy your dinner at Artist Point. Most people rave about it, especially about the salmon. What wasn't good about it? We have PS there in January and I don't want to pay lots of $ for a bad meal....Looking forward to hearing more about your trip...

for their honeymoon.........they all enjoyed it too and have become Disney freaks like us........thank you so much for posting about your first days.......

Beth, I ordered the shrimp and it was served with this super rich tomato sauce. It just didn't go with my shrimp at all. The shrimp itself was good but the sauce that came with it was just horrible.

Ummm...my husband had the salmon and I am not exactly sure why he disliked it. I tried some and it was ok to me, but nothing I could eat as an entire meal. I was pretty surprised when I tasted it that my eyes didn't pop out of my head because it is their "specialty".

Not that we wanted freebies at all the restaurants, but this was our most expensive meal and we didn't get free dessert. All the other restaurants treated us like royalty except here. It's just what we experienced on our visit. I read such wonderful reviews about Artist Point and that's why we originally made PS arrangements there. I hope you have a better experience on your trip. :)
