Our Magical Cruise Roy Suite 11/5/05 Magic

I'm just saying that if this one was the most "Magical" I would hate to hear the reports from the first ones and I certainly am shocked that you keep returning. :earboy2:

Geez, meow :dog2: It's her parade, don't bring the rain now! :cheer2:

SweetSpot:
I completely agree with you! I certainly am shocked I keep returning! :earsboy: :teeth: :rotfl:

The only way I convinced my DH to go on our 3rd DCL cruise this past June (Mexican West Coast) was by showing him how many opportunities he had to eat OFF the ship!

And then you throw in a Palo's night, a late Palo's brunch and TA DA! DH can stomach 2 nights of dining on the ship!

Awww, the ambiance of the DCL dining room reminds me of a cafeteria....a very well dressed cafeteria. But I keep going back! Because the food is not the reason we cruise DCL. OBVIOUSLY..... :rotfl2: Aren't you completely shocked! :earsgirl:

:disrocks: Great report! We've stayed in the Cat 3 next to the Roy Suite and THAT was huge! I really enjoyed hearing about all the changes that were made since the ship was in drydock. I saw pictures of the big jumbo tron type screen someone else posted and I'm curious what else that they show on it. Do the show movies, like the other cruise lines, "movies at dark?" type thingy.... ohhh my, that would bring on a whole other drama type topics like "chair hogs for "movies at dark". pirate:

The late night movies were great! We never fit one in but stopped and watched a couple times. The sound is great and the picture beautiful. They show old Disney movies. The only time I saw close to a crowd what when the showed Nemo (I didn't see how many were there for Pirates of the Caribbean) and still there were plenty of chairs. The set up rows of chairs in front of the screen and then you can see from the outer tables on deck 9 & 10. They also showed a movie around 2:00 for watching while in the pool. When a movie wasn't showing they were playing cartoons or showing pretty scenes. It is a great addition as are all the other additions after dry dock.

Yes the room was huge. We are a family of 5 and we were in a midship cat 3 last year and are in one again next year. The cat 3 is really plenty big for our family. Having a special son and younger kids we can't do rooms across the hall and really don't want them in a connecting room so a cat 3 works really well for us.

Thank you for understanding what I said about the food. Apparently on this board if you have an opinion or experience different than someone else you are WRONG. I only remember 5 people at our table but apparently others were eating with us and had a different experience based on what was posted here and on other threads referencing this thread. I tried to be honest. The dining experience was very different than the first 3 cruises. It's sad that you can gush on and on about how great all the other aspects of your cruise are and the negative is the only thing read and remembered. The food was such as small part of our trip. It's not so bad living on chicken strips, paninis and the drink of the day. I never even took food into consideration when I booked my first cruise and it won't affect my choice on my 5th or 6th with DCL.

Loved your report Sweetspot! I totally agree about the food. We loved meeting you and your wonderful family. Looking forward to seeing all of you again. Don't eat too much fruitcake untill then. ;)

Thank you for sharing your report...all of it. :) It is great that you didn't let something that went wrong ruin your entire cruise. We have witnessed people onboard who didn't follow that road & probably wasted the rest of the cruise stewing over things.

I also agree about the food in the dinning rooms. But, like you, we do not cruise for the food (except Palo and maybe those chicken fingers and hot dogs at Pluto's!).

We enjoy the ship, the service, the entertainment and the other lovers of all things Disney. Oh, and Palo and Pluto's!

Food experiences We had great, not so great, wonderful, very hot, luke warm, ech what ever. A nice thing to hear about something not so good is that you also told us how to get around the dinning hall experience. Our last cruise, we didn't really like the lunch food in the dinning halls so much. We went out and got Hot Dogs and Burgers, they were great and something about eating outside always makes it taste better especially when sailing on the beautiful blue/green ocean. Anyways, I am glad to hear about all the other wonderful changes they have made since our last cruise in feb 2005, we are going again jan 7 2006. We can't wait. It was our first cruise and didn't know what to expect. We did the room service one of the night and man did we get great food and a lot of it, way to much It's good to know about all the alternatives. Thank you for your review, I really like the honest ones the best.
