Our little thread of BIG Resort changes*OLD THREAD link on last pg. to new thread!

oh - and Miss E - you are going to love love love love the F&W fest. The first time we were there, it was on accident :lmao: We had no idea such a thing existed. That was 5 years ago (and I haven't missed one since...)

That sounds dangerous -- for our wallets anyway! :rotfl:

Yay, buying tickets -- a nice little birthday bonus! :goodvibes Thanks for all the tips on F&W, Ginny. We've never done the Agent P missions so I think F&W might be a good time to start. :thumbsup2 Also, might go for the passport to give her something extra to look forward to. She'd happily spend the whole vacation at DHS. :upsidedow
Great idea about the passport-all sorts of fun adventures exploring the countries. About Agent P-we did the France one with our grandson. We sort of played it as a family, lots of fun. :cool1:

I know. I just don't understand why the dealership that we bought it from, didn't put the right size tires on it before we bought it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :cake:

Wookie-Who knows why dealerships do what they do???:rotfl:
Thank you very much for the birthday wishes! :goodvibes

Ginny - It must be because it's your birthday....but the end of the furloughs was announced today!!! This is the last week!!!

MM-Woo-hoo!!:woohoo:So glad this goofy stuff is over for us!:dance3:

Candace! That is great news! So happy for any RCers that were affected by it!:dance3::yay::woohoo:

Jen-So happy, time to get back to a normal work (and pay) schedule. :goodvibes

That is amazing news!! :banana::dance3::banana:

It sure is!

Hi Friends! I have been such a slacker! Time has flown by this summer....

Happy birthday Ginny! I love all of your F&W plans. I can't wait for our trip. We are taking two other couples with us and neither have been to F&W before!!!

Congrats to the end of the furlough Ginny and Candace!!! :cool1:

Pas, Koh, Janet, I heart - loved all the trip updates!

I need to book a one night stay for just dh and I. I am torn between going cheap (POP or All Stars) or booking something special. I was leaning towards WL because I know we won't stay there with the kids (most of the rooms only sleep 4). But, it would save nearly $200 to stay at POP. Oh what to do what to do!!!:confused3

Lacey-I can't wait till they finally publish the list of F&W seminars and tastings, I bet you feel the same way.
Your trip sounds like such fun! :dance3:
I am so glad this furlough is over, thanks for your sweet words. :goodvibes

Wow! Good news! :cheer2:

Miss-I couldn't ask for a better birthday. :dance3:

You guys are the best! Thanks MM, Jen, Sheila, Miss and Trish!

It's a very happy day here, I just ordered our UT hopper tickets! :woohoo:

gywnne I am thinking I will order from there this time, considering getting PH's.

Ginny - It must be because it's your birthday....but the end of the furloughs was announced today!!! This is the last week!!!:yay:

MM Great News!

MDE so far so good, did the whole " linking of friends" between Bob and I yesterday since our old Ressie was in my name and the new one is in his so I have a couple of ADRs that I wanted to link, BOG and Via Napoli from my account to his plus I did make a couple of new ones for the ones I dropped after changeing resorts and low an behold today when I opened MDE the ADRs were linked and All showing up on both our accounts!

Keeping fingers crossed when I do get our park tix from UT I can link them as easily for the MagicBands.

I had tried to link our accounts with my old ressie but it would not let me kept saying my res# was wrong, must have been because that one was booked thru the TA? :confused3

Just so happy all is good !!!

As long as it isn't a budget buster, I would book the WL. True, it may be cheaper to stay at the Pop, but a Disney trip shouldn't always just be about what is the cheaper way to go (as long as it's with in what you can afford). The WL is a beautiful resort. Since it's just you and the DH why not book some where you know you can't book when taking the whole family. (and this opinion is no way swayed by the fact the WL is my favorite WDW resort we have stayed at so far and I would totally move in if they would let me ;p)

Good day all. :wave2: It seems like we've been gone for weeks. We are back from OKW. I must say it was a lovely, relaxing resort. Very tropical, beachy, and obviously Key West-y. ;)

We had a great room placement next to the main building/pool/Olivia's etc which really made it a pleasure. Our view was very pretty with the Mickey cut-out railing :thumbsup2 framing the pretty lake with fountain behind us.

The 1 BR villa room is huge as most of you know. I really "dug" that. :cheer2: The bathroom area is awesome. The teal/tan/off-white color scheme is very pretty. Actually I wouldn't mind having it at home. That said, it felt more like a vacation home than a WDW resort. And that's my DH's #1 WDW resort bugaboo if you can believe it... when there's not enough WDW theme-ing and no Hidden Mickeys!! I must say I totally agree. ::yes:: A simple fix would be to replace the cheesy wall-art and replace them with tasteful Disney prints. Example, we visited a BLT 2-br lockout this trip where our friends stayed and all the wall-art there is contemporary Disney art prints. Disney art should be mandatory at Villa Resorts. ::yes::

Speaking of BLT. We were able to go up in the BLT Vacation Club lounge on floor 16 to watch Wishes. That was a fun experience.

Major applause the culinary crew at WDW. They really seem to have stepped up the food quality across the board. :cool1: Chef Mickey's was such a pleasant surprise food wise, not to mention the Characters were non-stop everywhere. We also did 'Ohana, The Plaza, Sci-Fi, Captain's Grill, Boma breakfast, Olivia's breakfast, and counter service at POR (the create your own pasta station there is awesome). Not a bad meal was had by any of us this trip. :)

So, would I stay at OKW again? Yep, if it was in the same room location, and if it was summer because I really liked the pool, and I liked the main store/restaurant/check-in area so much. But not for a while because I need my Hidden Mickeys. ;)

Early line on our August 2014 trip: Poly Poly Poly! :wizard:

I wanted to do a big catch up before we head out tomorrow, but last minute stuff (I forgot about back to school shopping until 3 days ago :confused3 :scared1:) kept me away.

Mousemommy - Great news to you and all of the other military families :banana::banana:

Miss, Gywnne and basketlacey - Y'all are killing me with all the F&W info. I was contemplating canceling our October trip, but I think I'll shelf that idea for the time being. I need to go to that! :cloud9:

Gwynne - Happy Birthday! :bday:

Miss - IIRC, you are headed for a trippie soon? Tomorrow? If so, safe travels!!!

To everyone else, :wave2: If I don't get back on before I leave, I'll try to check in live if I can. :cool1:

ETA: Magic - OKW sounds fab! Glad you had a great trip!

For now...:rotfl2:

I am very happy with our CR choice, however, if Poly construction isn't as bad as I think it will be, a switch could always be in the cards....

Magic: Welcome home. Thanks for the review on OKW. As much as you just wrote is as much as I now know about it.

Yes, we're definitely trying to tempt you to keep that Oct. reservation. :thumbsup2 (Good memory, you. Both of us on our way tomorrow; your destination is much more interesting than mine though! :lmao: )

I really liked OKW it s so peaceful and relaxing :goodvibes

The Only drawback for us is that it s all bus transportation with the exception of the boat to DTD

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Go! You will love it!
Hmmmm....a potential RC meet? Well be there August 2014....:dance3:

:-) I forgot to mention earlier that we will be in Orlando next July! Just found out that the dds are participating in a national dance competition. I think it is at the Gaylord. So you know what that means - WDW for momma! Alas, not August though!

Good morning everyone! I called CRO last night but was on hold for an hour and then gave up. I don't think I am meant to change anything. :headache:

I will pop in later to give a proper multiquote!! Have a great day!

Jen

Good morning ladies :coffee::wave2:
First off Happy Birthday Gwayne!! :bday:

Magic, OKW sounds great. Thanks for sharing.

My update, waking up in our Seattle hotel, not sure what's on agenda today past finding breakfast, have to get to airport by 7:30 PM for out flight to Ft Lauderdale. :yay: it's go time!!:cool1:

So, my Food & Wine trip is evolving....:rolleyes1

We are now 9/27 - 10/2 and moved from POP to POFQ!!!!!! :dance3::cool1:

I have wanted to stay at POFQ for a couple of years but haven't gotten around to it, but now I will!!!

And, we ended up moving our flights to MUCH earlier on our arrival date to arrive 7 hours earlier!!!!! Plus we got rid of a layover, and it was cheaper!!!! :dance3:

I'm so excited!!!

Love your change. That is one I have been pricing too. I think I am going to book WL though. Unless I can talk Dh into going back with the kids later in the month! (Which makes me naughty too!

I was sooooo excited because POFQ tends to be hard to get with a discount, and when I had checked previously, it was not available. But, it popped up today. :dance3: 35% off!!!

I think you should go with WL, but you know, its my favorite.... :goodvibes

Count me in as a naughty RCer too!:rolleyes1 We just switched from POR to BWI!!:dance3::yay::cheer2:

Yes, it is more money but it is getting a better discount for sure, I cannot stomach the 5% we were getting at POR. And here's hoping an even better AP discount materializes so I can apply that too! And then let go of the bad memory of letting go of our Bounceback. Worst.decision.ever.:sad2:

Anyway, it's all good! I have a good feeling about this finally!!:cool1:

Hi Lacey: Wow a dance trip to WDW sounds fab!! A great excuse to come again!

Candace: I love that you upgraded to POFQ!! Sounds great for a girls only trip! I remember Miss talking about a lovely cocktail at POFQ...:scratchin

SueMpopcorn:: I hope you have a smooth and comfy flight!! Safe travels! Keep us updated!

Iheart: Safe travels to you also!! Updates pleeeeeze!!!:yay:

Magic: Love your mini TR! OKW sounds great, but I would be like you and wanting more Disney. I wasn't thrilled when we rented a vacation home and would not want my Disney resort to feel like that!

Jen

Magic: Welcome home. Thanks for the review on OKW. As much as you just wrote is as much as I now know about it.
Yep, that OKW sure does fly under the radar. :duck: It is nice, though, especially if your are from the North and craving some real Florida vibes. :beach:

MAGIC :welcome: home  I really liked OKW it s so peaceful and relaxing :goodvibes The Only drawback for us is that it s all bus transportation with the exception of the boat to DTD
Yep, agreed. We have a car which makes it much easier. But. like you, I still definitely prefer to travel at WDW by boats. :fish: And PS... I'm so jealous of your BWI. It's the best-est. But what else would a Jersey girl think after all. pixiedust: We'll need to get back there one of these days SOON. :p

Great, that's all good! POFQ is the perfect resort for a girls trip. Small, quiet, 2 bars within walking distance...

Count me in as a naughty RCer too!:rolleyes1 We just switched from POR to BWI!!:dance3::yay::cheer2:
That is faaaaantastic!!! BWI and POR are two of my top 3 faves. :cheer2:
