Good thing the DIS doesn't date stamp quoted posts - let's just pretend these are from say, yesterday

I'm eagerly awaiting for DH to call back with word on whether we can leave next Tue. rather than Wed. We'd get to WL the same day, but if he can take Tue. off, then we can take two days down and stop in GA, then only have 4 hours on Wed., which would bring us into WL about 8 hours earlier

. I'm always scheming and already got him to agree to go down in one day, so I'm really pushing my luck here.
Kook: Congrats on the new Tetris piece!

Have you experienced any accidental braking-thinking-it's-the-clutch? (I regret never having a manual, though the daily commute for many years via the parking lot that is the Beltway factored into that decision.) LOL,
"unbridled enthusiasm"... got that right!
LOL about the accidental braking. I used to always do that with the dealership's loaner cars. I think I'm the only one who ever asks for a manual loaner.

A new car and WL in one month!! Yeah baby!
Well, luckily it isn't a month, but it sure feels like it
KooK Congrats on the new wheels! My first car was a standard (when I was 16)....I crashed that car...been driving an automatic ever since. You're almost to the OFC!!! I would be lying if I said I wasn't pricing that out today...
That's great that at least you learned on a stick. Most kids these days never learn how to drive a manual.
Kook .... glad to hear you got yourself a new toy
Be reminded that the speed limit doesn't exceed 70 on the way down to Orlando
Oh, it doesn't? Hmmm... Thought I saw a GPS once that just might have indicated a speed slightly above 70 once on I95

congrats on both your upcoming trip and the new car! What did you get? I can hear the boat horns already!
Love Dole Whips, have yet to try a Lapu!!maybe this trip?
It's a '13 Toyota Avalon Limited. This is a big change for us as we've only owned German cars with three initials since 2000. We still have 3 Bimmers so at least we didn't have to part with any when we moved into the 21st century with this here newfangled automatic.
WDWKOOK: Your new ride

is programmed with GPS presets.
Preset #1 is the route to Del Boca Vista.
WDWKOOK: Yup, still at OKW, arrive 31st.

Not being a big drinker, my downfall is those Captain's Mai Tai's. Ohhhhhh my... must stay faaaaar away from those.

Janet will need to partake is Dole Whips very soon. Speaking of DWs, I hope they add the Cap'n Morgan Dole Whip to the regular rotation soon, like in the next week!
Of course it is
And, the new car, umm locomotive... is a behemoth! I could sleep in the backseat if I had to
Linda - I guess since you are picking everyone up and then flying south, I will have to make the drive north to meet you

Maybe
KOOK will fly down and see her in laws then drive up with me
KOOK - congrats on the new wheels

I always had a manual up north for more control in the snow, but once I moved to FL, it has been automatics all the way. DH still loves his manuals though, and always special orders his car that way, MEN
I'll just skip the in-law part and drive up with you, thank you! You're in no shape to drive though, so I'll drive and you can switch seats with me when the FHP come out from behind the palm trees on the Turnpike.
For 26 years, we've ordered all our cars with manuals, too so I can relate to your DH. It's getting harder and harder to find them though. In doing my research, I think I memorized every car that still has one. I'm a bit of a CARKOOK, too.
Overall calories not as bad (don't look at the fat or sodium content though)
SEC McGriddle 550 Calories
BEC McGriddle 460 Calories
Oh, stop that! We leave next week and I'm looking forward to our ritual Sonic stop and I thought there were no calories on vacation???
Kookster-How's the new roadster?
It's so...civilized and full of so many fun bells and whistles. It's very un-German, but in a nice Japanese way
So, this is my 2nd visit to this thread

This is a couples only FD getaway. Originally booked at POP, then considered CSR, but then booked king room at POR Riverside, then found out our room could be in AB, which is not our cup of tea, so then booked a Royal Room at Riverside.
However, now I am thinking I will be feeling guilty not having my girls on this trip, ages 12 & 5, so I am thinking of going back to POP.
So thoughts
Also, if we do change back to POP, and I am NOT within my 45 days of arrival, is there a charge to do so?
Thanks

back!
If you booked room-only then you can cancel without penalty 5 days or more prior to arrival. If you booked a packaged, there is no penalty 45 days or more prior to arrival. Can the girls stay in the RR since it has two queens?
