Our little thread of BIG Resort Changes~2013 Spring RC installment

Hey ladies! (and gents...do you have any gents over here?!?!?!) Been around this thread sometimes in the past, thought I'd pop in & say how saddened I was to learn of Jungle Cruise's passing. I chatted with her a few times regarding BC. What a brave gal! I'm sure its not the same around here without her.

I know Dani, Canadace & Kook on here. I recognize almost all the other names too! And although for my August trip I know exactly which resort I want (BWI or BWV)..I CANNOT stop changing my mind on the room type. Does that make me a "changer?"

As of today I have a Deluxe CL room booked...but DH may not be able to go, and the $$ for that room for just myself, DS12 (it will be a total surprise 13th b-day trip for him) and DS16 is just making me cringe. But I really really want a BW view at BWV...but none are available. As of today anyway. I hound my DVC friends to check constantly for me. They're about to change their numbers!

Ok I actually have a BWV studio standard view booked too for the trip. It's only another 1-night deposit, right???

Anyway, thanks for letting me get my room anxieties out over here. I think you guys will understand!

Sheila: We're staying on the Zebra Trail, Uzima Savanna. I've been quite impressed with the variety of animals we've been able to see from the room. We lucked out methinks.

Sorry I haven't been able to do a real reply lately. So busy with STUFF! Had another "off" day at MK (rain and god-awful crowds then a nasty bus driver on the way back)... We never seem to get it right at MK unless it's at a party. What a gorgeous "home" to come back to though.

Sorry I haven't been able to do a real reply lately. So busy with STUFF! Had another "off" day at MK (rain and god-awful crowds then a nasty bus driver on the way back)... We never seem to get it right at MK unless it's at a party. What a gorgeous "home" to come back to though.

I just booked my flight to Orlando for the Dec Granny trip .... no flight home booked yet. Still hoping for a sale but good thing with SW I can always change! And we do love changes don't we!?!?

First time poster on this thread and so glad to have found it. No one in my family stresses over room choices as much as me and no one cares to hear about it. I do all the planning and everyone else just goes along with my recommendations. Maybe they have created a monster because I can think of little else, except where I want to stay.

My sister, her 4 children, my mom and myself may do a 2 night trip in mid September to go to Halloween party. I will be okay with value but really want to do WL. I am not booking for 2 weeks so we will take what we can get but I really want WL. With my sister having 4 kids, her two year old becoming a 3yo next year and her oldest becoming a dis adult the next year, I feel like this is our last opportunity for deluxe. I liked AoA in March and I guess I don't want to get my heart set on WL and have it be unavailable. However, as of today there is still availability at AKL or BWI. I just want to make the perfect choice!

I love BWV! I think the minute I book it makes me more anxious - should make me settled but it doesn't!

Love that SW changes! My SW doesn't fly to MCO, so I almost never get to use it. I always have to commit to flights.

Sad but true. Flight for Jan are booked - EWR to MCO, MCO to LAX, LAX to EWR - but yet I don't have a hotel for WDW in Jan!

I am currently searching and debating for my quick August trip...or my possible quick trip! I really want Dolphin (bc I can't afford the deluxes for this, but Dolphin is on sale!) but I am looking at anything that will get me there!

The ship itself was fine, it was issues with the medical staff and the fact it was multiple crew members ill....

I did it... This time I did not tell hubby..and it will be a surprise when we pull up to AK on the Magic Express bus... I really wanna say I'm done...we shall see.... (but this trip is perfect!) You people are awesome, just sayin' And so NON judgy....

Hi! Just found you all and I have to admit, I'm kind of in love.

You all plan trips non stop and then move things around and talk about it all the time? Did I get that right? As I am sure you can imagine, NO ONE in my life wants to play this game with me! Not my truly sweet husand, not my best DIS friends (and they are my besties for 5 plus years) not my best friends at home...oh no. I swear they roll their eyes every time I text one of them about a possible trip and a permeation therefore.Have I found nirvana? Can it be true?

DD was home for the weekend .... always so good to have her here. DS got moved into his new house so now maybe wedding info will start happening! It's like you two have been together for 6 or 7 years now ... set the date already! Mama needs to plan her Disney trip!!! DD gets her Masters in Aug, is planning to leave So Cal ... looking for jobs in Northern Cal, Portland Or or Seattle WA ... since she is my Disney traveling partner I need her life situated! See even when your kids are all grown up they still rule your life!!!

It sounds like you'll fit in real well with this group. Dare I say, but I do believe that this is the best group of peeps on the Dis...

We love Por! Beautiful grounds, great food court. Yeehaw Bob, boat to DTD! Great resort. And the rooms have recently been refurbed.
I love the mansion section but the AB area is beautiful and very lush landscaping. Sometimes we get off at an AB stop just to walk thru.

I'm sorry you losing the BC, but at least it's not the entire trip.
In that situation, I think I would go with two rooms at the Pop. That way you have two bathrooms, instead of five people sharing one.

Thanks Wookie....that is another vote for POP right?? I think it is a tight race here!!

Jen, if POR is where your heart is, keep calling back... something is bound to open up... ya know people DO change occasionally... Perhaps hold the 2 POP rooms and keep trying to move it to POR. You can also check GP and passholder rates when they are released. Sending lots of your way!

I am on the phone now....not sure what the heck I am going to do though!!

Thanks for the welcome Jen! I have to admit that sometimes I text different scenarios to my sister, just to mess with her (even stuff I would never consider for this trip, like offsite)! We did offsite once and it wasn't horrible but the traffic was so I don't want to do that again. I'd rather do value onsite than offsite deluxe. I would also like to one day be able to say I've stayed at all of the Disney resorts.

TaraPA - Welcome!!! Yep, I know I have seen you on other boards as well Yes, we accept changes of all sorts.....resort, dates, ADR's, room types, etc Life is NEVER boring here! Oh and I have so done the same thing with multiple rooms booked at the same time! I know it is a lot of money for the deluxe room but if you are doing it for DS' bday it may still be worth the splurge.

SeptemberGirl - I don't think I said WELCOME yet! I also elected to do my Masters full time while working, with one child, and eventually pregnant with my second. I actually went into labor early the week of my finals my last semester, thank goodness for awesome understanding professors Your trips (or tentative plans) sound awesome! Remember with the Dolphin that there is a resort fee tacked on and if you have a car also a parking fee. For us, the savings doesn't end up adding up.

KOOK - glad you are staying put! I have to admit I am having BLT anxiety...the tower is calling my name If DS wasnt gluten free I think I would be aiming for CL again. Oh and the comment to Linda was hysterical

Heather - ENJOY and I hope you took KOOK's advice and put down the books and enjoyed a margarita, or two, or three

Look at the leaf trellis thing that wraps around the stairs for hidden Mickey about halfway up

We love AKL. Had 12 wonderful nights there last August. Be sure you go to one Cultural Safari in the evening. They are so interesting!

So now that I've made peace with all my changing resorts....(I think.....) I want to thank you all for helping me along the way with my Disney addiction. And I guess now I am addicted to this forum....I missed chatting while I was at work today...I just got home and now I have to go to bed and get up all over again in the morning...who invented this "working" thing anyways... Love this!!! My feeling is that at BC you really don't need CL .... there are so many good options to eat that are really convenient. Of course this is coming from the lady who has never done CL anywhere! So take my advise with a grain of salt!
