Okay so BC is looking like its on its way out. reality is that we are doing cruise first, we want to also do a Christmas party, and now need some real life things. Sad.

We will get back there one day though. Maybe you ladies can help me decide on POR or 2 rooms at POP? Those are the only two in the running now.

We love Por! Beautiful grounds, great food court. Yeehaw Bob, boat to DTD! Great resort. And the rooms have recently been refurbed.
I love the mansion section but the AB area is beautiful and very lush landscaping. Sometimes we get off at an AB stop just to walk thru.

I'm sorry you losing the BC, but at least it's not the entire trip.
In that situation, I think I would go with two rooms at the Pop. That way you have two bathrooms, instead of five people sharing one.

Speaking of changes... . Talked to DH last night and got all my changes "approved."

7/30-8/1 offsite (Sea World)
8/1-8/9 CBR pirate room

Now to make sure all my ADRs are set! Just will need to make a couple minor changes and move a few things around.

Just wanted to drop in and say hello! This has been a much needed vacation for all the family. Got up a bit early....real shock, right to enjoy the ocean....(sorry for the large pics...)

What resort is that? I am looking for ideas for our 20th wedding anniversary. That looks amazing.

Back to studying for me....had to come in for an hour or so and get some homework finished Yes....this crazy Statistics class has followed me to another country!!!

AKL is AMAZING!! We did 3 nights there as a resort only trip, the pool is wonderful and there is so much to see and do. There's animal guides everywhere..you'd have a balcony! DO IT!!! Pool view is close to food court, it really would be a wonderful split...IMHO

Yes you have, and we are your angels. Sometimes we use that power for good and sometimes for enabling.

DD was home for the weekend .... always so good to have her here. DS got moved into his new house so now maybe wedding info will start happening! It's like you two have been together for 6 or 7 years now ... set the date already! Mama needs to plan her Disney trip!!! DD gets her Masters in Aug, is planning to leave So Cal ... looking for jobs in Northern Cal, Portland Or or Seattle WA ... since she is my Disney traveling partner I need her life situated! See even when your kids are all grown up they still rule your life!!!

Hopefully, you will get word on the wedding soon, and your DD will get her life situated.

Yeah....I've tried that with my boys. I even told them that if they didn't stop growing so fast, I would ground them. When I tell the youngest that, he just tells me, "hey, I have no control over how fast I grow. That is up to God. If you want to ground someone for me growing up to fast ground God. Good luck with that."

My DD will love the pirate ship play area too! no saving money actually since we added another night instead of just moving it back a day.

This will be our longest Disney trip yet!! Woohoo!! And I just added raglan road for a dinner on our AK day since we won't be at AKL anymore!! Yeah!

Oh that's right!! Well adding another Disney day without affecting the budget is a GREAT thing!!

And this picture just says it all!!!! Totally explains why AKL is my favorite resort! Now if someone posts a WL I just might have to admit that is also my favorite!

Heather, Love the pix!! Wow, even on vaca, you are still fulfulling your picture duites...

Thanks everyone for your help! Although I do like the thought of 2 rooms and more space at POP, the grounds and look of POR appeal to me more. And the pool looks a little better for the kiddos with the slide.

Janet: The only problem was that POR alligator Bayou was not included or sold out with the BB, so if I book there it will be at full price and then wait for another discount to come out. I can get POP with the BB though. ACK!!!

Jen, if POR is where your heart is, keep calling back... something is bound to open up... ya know people DO change occasionally... Perhaps hold the 2 POP rooms and keep trying to move it to POR. You can also check GP and passholder rates when they are released. Sending lots of your way!

I'm in grad school full-time, work part time, and am in the midst of a career change. Luckily, I have the summer off from school so I feel like I have a life right now! "Just" working is delightful!

I was a book editor, and a freelancer. I take a LOT of notes. I am note obsessed. I love to look things up and plan - I swear this helps me think better.

I will not list all my WDW trips because it looks crazy even to me. Suffice to say, we are not people of means but yet I have managed to take my daughter 5 times and have gone yearly since 2010 with my DIS besties to run races. (In the name of "fun")

I am in grad school for social work. In a year I will have my MSW from Monmouth University. If I survive! I elected to do the program full-time in two years rather than 4 years part-time. Same amount of money, and I figured getting it over with faster would let me be employed full-time faster! As it turns out, it's an amazing program and I really love it. That helps balance the disruption to our entire life.


Ah, my next trip! Well, going from most confirmed trips to least confirmed trips....

In Jan I will be there with my DIS girls for a race - then off to DL for another race. That's a big trip but we are sort of go with the flow planners - we pretty much do the race and hang out - go with how we feel. We rarely do any sit down meals, because we DVC it and cook and spend our time mostly laughing over silly things and making split second decisions to hop a bus and head to a park. I LOVE that. It's so relaxing and stress free. We used to plan a ton, but we never know how we will feel after 13.1 miles and sometimes we just want to rest and soak up the Disney magic.

We will have to plan DL, though!

The trip after that is May 2014. I want to go after my graduation to celebrate, for a week, with my family. Maybe even invite in inlaws with me. I want to rent DVC for that one and stay at BWV. My husband has said yes in that "This is a year away" voice. But I really do want to plan some of that!

And finally, I got it in my head that I should take my daughter this summer. My husband is traveling a lot, to far off places, for business, and I thought that during one of his absences we two should head down and play. She hasn't been since Feb 2012 and I was there this Feb. and I will be there in Jan 2014 (twice without her!), and she will have to wait a whole extra year to see the new stuff...and in my crazy, probably diagnosable mom head I think this is TOTALLY reasonable.

So I decided to plan something for this August. I'm thinking late August and I am debating on property or off - I really could go any time this summer, but price and crowds do affect me. I would love to stay at the Dolphin for 4 nights but it might end up a value for 3! Anyway, that is my current idea. I welcome any suggestions! I just really want to take her. Doesn't help that my at home BFF just came back from 4 nights with her DD - my BFF has only been twice! both times with me, and I was texting her like mad, living vicariously these last few days.

My DD will be getting her MSW from USC this August .... she will be so glad to be done. She's working full time, going to school and of course doing her 20 hours a week internship. I don't know how she does it!

Ah, I do not own DVC - I am REALLY lucky bc one of my friends does and is incredibly generous. She books her DVC for our yearly race. I will rent for the May 2014 trip - I hope to find a DISer to rent from.

For DL, my friend booked her DVC!!!! Grand Californian. So while we have no booking for WDW in Jan, we know we have GC for DL, which is just amazing. She is a saint to do this for us. We try to pay her back in food and drink.

A mother daughter trip sounds perfect!! and I've always wanted to do one of the races...guess I should start running huh...lol.

For DL, my friend booked her DVC!!!! Grand Californian. So while we have no booking for WDW in Jan, we know we have GC for DL, which is just amazing. She is a saint to do this for us. We try to pay her back in food and drink.



Oh, me, too! I am so not a runner - I've just done 4 half marathons. I did run for a brief, shining period in my life....I swear I will start running again. Soon.

DD started the program as part time but has been taking extra classes so she'll finish in August instead of December. For her foundation year internship after about 3 weeks there they offered her a job ... which is where she is still working but for her concentration year her internship is somewhere else ... international non-profit which is what she is really interested in.

I love the GC villas! For our Dis DL Diva trip this year that's where we are staying .... hotel not the villas. I've used my points there a couple of times ... had an amazing view of WOC one time. Isn't that race in Feb? What dates? I've done a few 1/2 marathons .... walked not run but now would rather do a 10k.

Oh that's great for her - the job! But I have no idea how she can do it all! I have to quit this job this summer before my concentration year internship. I will work part-time at another place, but I could't do this job, the internship, and take 5 classes a semester. And see my family during waking hours. I'm kind of looking forward to the change.

Ive heard great things about the GC!!! The race we used to do in WDW was in Feb. Last weekend, usually. Now we are doing the WDW one in early Jan and the one in DL a week later. Two in one week! Seemed like a good idea at the time.

I walk all the races. I am hoping to run/walk the ones in Jan. Be a little bit faster. Half of us are runners, half are walkers - we managed to wait for each other and finish the last race together. It was amazing!

10k - for some reason this seems more intimidating to me than the halts. I don't know why. Maybe because I expect the halfs to be long and that seems like i should be able to run it all.

Wow you guys got really chatty today. I wasn't gone all that long just a Dr visit to my Pulmonary/Sleep Specialist and out to Chinese with Bob for lunch. Only made one trip to the buffet since I was down 2 more pounds when I weighed in at Dr's today He was happy with my 16 lb loss since last time I saw him
