Jenny - I know!! When we were there in 2010, and the sushi bar had just recently opened, they were using snack credits on the DxDP for a roll! Needless to say, we were stuffed before we got to dinner that night...

Kook - the coffee bar serves sushi for lunch (new) and dinner. You can order from the sushi bar menu when dining at Kona.

Yes!! But DH nixed Kona for lunch/dinner since he didn't think the sushi was worth an app or entree I guess? Who knows...

MM, 6 days for the girls trip? Are you still at AoA? have to update the RC list!

Koh/Jen, Sam loves sushi (not me), so will have to check out Kona / Captain's Cook for her.

Well, if the military discount is renewed and the the rack rates doesn't increase by more than 20% (was being VERY cautious with estimates).....we will stay GF RPC!!!!!!!

MM ahh my dream resort, I have wanted to stay at GF forever and in the Main Building, I watch the Full House Disney Episodes over and over but I have resolved it will never happen unless I splurge and do just one night at least I will make it over to GF this trip my first time ever stepping onto GF property when we go to GF Cafe in rememberance of "Our Beloved Sarah"

You can also get the Kona island sushi at Captain Cook's! I discovered that on our trip. We tried to get a walk up at Kona, it was too packed so we went downstairs to Captain Cooks. I was so happy to see some in their fridges!

jenny what would you suggest to someone (me) trying sushi for the first time?

Poly dining is always a madhouse, especially 'Ohana


Resort? What's going on here? Where might we change to? BTW, are the kids on vacation then?

I did book 'Ohana at 5pm to avoid a long wait but I hope the bust lobby does not totally turn him off.

Almost done packing! But still have to finish and straightening up the house. I will say, this trip is much easier to pack for compared to packing for WDW trips

He feel in love with the BWI, last two trips we stayed there. Next favorite would be WL but we've stayed there 2x too. He just does not care for the whole "tropical theme" oh well

Have you requested a room location, yet? Maybe you can get something that isn't by all the congested areas. What about the CR?? That's definitely not tropical at all.

Requested Fiji Luau Cove side which will have to change in the event they start DVC construction while we are there. We also requested a patio room for first time ever, He did like the idea of walking out and access to the beach area.

CR would be his preferred of all the monorail resorts.

Please don't over think the Poly ...one never knows fully what it will be like until experiencing it first hand. Bob agreed to the poly and he knows how much you have wanted to stay there. It's a good.

we should have a great time ... BBQ ... Nice day... Music... Being together ... It's perfect!

Ha ha!!! I do have friends whose kids play on local teams, and of course we have the NHL Florida Panthers in Sunrise, but growing up outside of Boston with a mother who was a hockey fiend makes me a HUGE Boston Bruins fan!!!! My mom took me to the '92 playoffs for my 18th bday!!!

There is always room here! Amidst all the friendly chatter there is a lot of valuable information that all the ladies here can provide! A POR /Poly CL split sounds great! We may be trying POR this November too. Not sure yet....
