Our Last Minute, Surprise, Magical, Never-to-be-Forgotten 4th of July Trip

The picture of the 2 of you on the carousel is perfect. You should have that framed on the wall.

Now was the big news of this day that you really enjoyed Country Bear Jamboree????

We enter Toontown and Domenic wants to see Minnie's house. He has been so funny about all of the lady characters this trip. Yesterday he really wanted to see Daisy at AK, but we were told she was out shopping ;)

We walk through Minnie and Mickey's pads and then head over to the Judge's Tent to see how the lines are. I notice right off that Daisy is with Pluto and Goofy and tell Craig we have to take him. I didn't think we'd ever get a chance to see Daisy, so this is some great luck! So we get in line. It's pretty long, but it moves quickly. We're glad we're not headed to see the princesses, that's for sure! Once in he takes his Daisy pic. He's so excited to see her :)

We leave there and decide to head over to see what the status of Buzz Lightyear is. Thankfully he's up and running again, and we get to ride. Apparently, though, it wasn't quite ready to be running, as it stops half a dozen times while we are on it. Domenic doesn't care, though. We have fun shooting Zurg.

We leave here and head over to City Hall. A fellow DISer has asked me to look for villain guest of honor pins and I've yet to find any and am told to check here. So we head over there and Domenic enjoys the coolness of the inside while I wait for them to check for me. Sadly I am not going to be finding any in the park, but it was a nice break from the heat. We go outside and Domenic's getting increasingly cranky. We do get the chance to take this cute pic of him, though

He thought Goofy could use some cooling off ;)

We stop by Cinderellabration. We're heading towards Adventureland before supper at Liberty Tree Tavern but we've got a little bit of time left and stop for a bit to watch. Domenic is in a MOOD though and after just a few minutes is ready to keep walking. Craig's not a huge fan of this show, so he's not heartbroken, lol.

We head back through Adventureland and we see Genie is outside again. So we get in line since it's fairly short. We are literally THE next people in line and they say that Genie has to take a quick break and he'll be back in 2 minutes so to stay in line. We do. And 2 minutes later out comes Aladdin.....sans Genie :confused3 So Domenic is next and they bring him forward. He's very confused. He wants to know where Genie is. We ask and are told he'll be back in about 20 minutes. We're not sure what happened there, but there will obviously be no Genie meet this time around :(

After this we come along to the spitting Tikis. Domenic is in heaven again. He just LOVES water. So Craig went....somewhere :confused3 and Domenic and I stand at the Tikis while Domenic gets his groove on in the water. He's got me cracking up

By now it's time to think about heading over to Liberty Tree Tavern for supper. We've got ADR's and I'm excited since it's our last big meal of the trip. Domenic needs some new clothes first, though, and I take him to change. That done, we head to LTT and wait to be seated. It's a short wait and in we go.

I've never been here, so it's a fun new first for me. I liked it a lot. I don't know if it was the time we were there, but we saw the characters several times. And they were very interactive. Domenic is so NOT about eating and Minnie was making every attempt she could to get him to do so. She sat in his seat, she tried to get him to eat, it was great. He thought it was hysterical, but never did get around to eating

Chip took a real liking to Domenic, and must've come over at least 3 times. Domenic is so huggy with the characters and just loves this.

Dinner was excellent, and despite Mommy trying very hard to maintain patience during the majority of it while Domenic fidgeted all over the place, we had a nice time.

After dinner we decide to head over and see if The Tikki Room is still open. Domenic loves this attraction and we never made it to it earlier in the day. It's open and we head in. It's a nice relaxing way to start out the final portion of our day. We leave there and about 3 minutes after we start walking, we notice that Domenic has fallen asleep. So, we decide to head towards Main Street and do some browsing and shopping. Our plan tonight is to watch the early running of Spectro and then Wishes and head home to get some sleep since our flight tomorrow morning is early.

After some shopping, we start walking back towards Fantasyland since we've got a bit of time before the parade. We wake Domenic up and ask him if he'd like to ride IASW again. He groggily says yes and we get in line. Once on the boat, he's very quiet. I attribute it to him just waking up, but then he crawls over me and crawls in between Craig and I and is snuggling up to him. It's not unusual, but I wonder what's up...and then Craig realizes. Domenic's having an accident :( It was my fault for not asking him if he'd had to go in awhile, and we still haven't mastered this part of it yet.I ask Domenic if that's what's going on and he says yes. I don't want him to be afraid or feel badly. Even if he'd told me, I couldn't have done anything as we were already on the boat and moving. So I spend the ride feeling sorry for him, but he enjoys the scenery.

We disembark and I take him to the bathroom for a change. We now have to either go find a spot for Spectro or decide to skip it. We decide since it's our last night here to give Domenic the power to decide. He says rides, of course. So we head over to Pooh and ride on that again. Once out of there, we head towards Toon Town. In March, Domenic was to short for Goofy's Barnstormer, but this time we're thinking he might be ok. We'd not gotten on it earlier today, but this time there's no line at all. They measure him and we're good to go :cool1:

I still have to hold my arm around him because he's so darn tiny, he'd have been all over that car.

He enjoys it, and says he liked it when we got off. After that it's time to head over to the bridge to watch Wishes. Craig wants to watch it from the bridge this time, rather than Main Street, as we'd done on Sunday night. I really like Main Street, but I go with the flow and we settle on a spot to the right of the castle, just before Tomorrowland.

Craig says he has to use the bathroom and heads off. Domenic and I save our spot for the fireworks and sit down and relax. Craig comes back and we're standing up waiting for Tinkerbell to fly down. All of a sudden, he turns to me and pulls something from his pocket. He hands it to Domenic, and says "Here, Domenic. Can you give Mommy this special souvenir?" At which point, he hands a ring box to Domenic (who I am holding....in the dark....on a bridge) and says "Will you ask her if we can be a family?" and gets down on one knee and asks us to marry him    I say "YES!" and then we both scrambled to keep Domenic, who was about to take the ring out of the box, from dropping it off the bridge and losing it forever  :rotfl: :rotfl:

It was the most wonderful (and classic) moment ever!! :lovestruc I honestly have no idea if anyone around us even noticed, because it was dark and he was so quiet about it (and was only on his knee a split second). And sadly, we never asked anyone to take any pictures of us right after, but I did get some shots of our post-engagement fireworks

After the fireworks, which I honestly barely remember now, lol, we had intended to head back to the room. But we were too excited at this point. So we ask Domenic if he wants to watch Spectro or go on rides. He wants to go back to Goofy's Barnstormer. Our engagement was celebrated by 4 consecutive rounds of my son's new favorite ride :rotfl2: :rotfl2: But we had a BLAST. Craig and I are jibber-jabbering about the engagement (apparently that morning, he'd been asked to see what was in the ring box at security :rotfl: Thankfully Domenic and I had entered first and weren't right there watching!!) and Domenic's taking advantage and getting "just one more" ride out of us about 3 times over :rotfl: Finally we say enough and head out of Toon Town.

I'm sad because I didn't want to leave anyway, and now I just want to move in to WDW :rotfl: We head to the jeweler on Main Street on our way out because the ring is about 4 sizes too big ;) I am desperate for a ring guard to be able to wear it. They don't have one, but now I'm a little less sad about heading home tomorrow, because I know that we can stop at a jeweler there and get one! We try calling Craig's folks and they are not answering, so we can't tell them. My mom had called during the fireworks but I hadn't heard. I see the message, and call her back, but refrain from telling her. I'm going to see her tomorrow afternoon and I want to tell her in person.

We head back to the room and Craig and I are of course, still yammering about the whole deal. We were already concocting a guest list, I think :lmao: He tells me that the ring was in the safe.....until Tuesday morning, when I'd gone into it PRE-shower  He said it was right there (remember, it was 6am, dark, and my contacts weren't in yet...oh...and the ring box was dark blue) in the corner of the safe. He'd scrambled to grab it out of the safe when I'd gone into the bathroom and hid it under Domenic's bed, where it stayed until we left for MK Wednesday morning :rotfl2:

Oh yeah...and the reason it was 4 sizes too big, was because he'd gone with some suggestion about how to size a ring by using a twist tie and wrapping it around the finger and then measuring against some size guide. He'd done it while I was sleeping one night. I think that technique needs some work :lmao: :lmao:

We finish packing and finally get to sleep for a few hours to grab our flight home the next morning, dreaming of our next trip back here as a family :cloud9:
