Our Kath really needs our hugs

Our 'adopted' Brit, Kath is in real need of our hugs and thoughts at the moment

I have cut and pasted her post here so we can do our own 'British' thread for her:-

<b>I just returned home from making arrangements for my mother to enter hospice.

She has been hospitalized for a methane resistant staph infection and overnight she developed pneumonia.

She has basically starved to death. She is cancer free but she is so malnourished that she has no reserves to fight the pneumonia.

Her physicians told me to call my siblings to come if they want to see her alive. If she lives through the night she will be transported by ambulance tomorrow morning to hospice. They do not expect her to survive the pneumonia.

I am the eldest of 5 children and all of the responsibility seems to be mine. It is a terrible burden to bear with a broken heart. If you pray ask that I find the strength and courage to do what I must do, because I am feeling lost and alone right now. My husband is in Detroit and I can't seem to find him by phone. He will be home in an hour or two, I'm sure. But right now, I'm alone.

I'm going back to the hospital soon. My mother goes in and out of consciousness, I hope to catch her during a lucid moment.

Kath, my heart goes out to you and I know that the love you feel for your mother will give you the courage to face this.

I hope your family are with you just as soon as they can be so that you do not have to go through this alone.

You have done so so much before and since your mother's surgery - you couldn't have done any more and I'm sure everyone, not least your mother, appreciates the love and care you have given her.
