I think I already mentioned how DS was so thrilled to find the naked mole rats? So this was the first thing we did in AK. We got FP for Safari and walked the trail. It was wonderful, hardly anyone was there...

The bird area was really cool, but none of my pics of the birds came out very well...

You'll see prairie dogs, so cute, totally remind me of Colorado...

I think there are Hippos, but we couldn't see into the tank very well. They have skulls on display...

And, of course, the gorillas...

Oh wow! Thanks both of you for those pictures!! I'm getting excited!

jmsadams: Does your DS like Kim Possible since he likes naked mole rats. :)

Your TSM story is so funny! Why the heck would the CM say that?!

My favorite TSM memory is from the first time I rode it in January...I've only been on it twice but the minute I saw the scrabble board I knew we would be HUGE fans because we love scrabble. The ride is so cute and fun! I am determined to beat DF at it in June!!

And Pangani Forest trail...Ok on our 2008 trip we were watching the gorillas for a really long time, and some rude person threw a napkin into their enclosure while we were watching! It made me really mad, it just seemed very cruel to do that on purpose and one of the gorillas tried to eat it. The person who threw it thought this was hilarious and her whole group was cracking up, laughing at the poor animal. Well, the gorilla figured out quick they weren't throwing him food, and it's almost like he knew he was being laughed at, because he turned around and stuck his butt up in the air at them, and peed! It was like he was telling them off in his own gorilla way :rotfl: We were the ones laughing at that, and the mean napkin thrower ran off embarrassed.

Whew, I'm soooooo behind! Catching up!

Attraction of the Day...

The Magic Carpets

Okay so this is a general memory of every time we ride this..Sis ALWAYS makes sure she's in the row where you steer whether you go up or down...and she lines us up just perfect with the spitting camel. So everytime we go around and get closer to the camel...we all hold our breath and hope it doesn't spit! But of course, at least one of the times it does and we get wet! :upsidedow

No memories here, but I love the carpets! There's nothing like getting spit on by the camel! :lmao:

Aladdin is one of my fav Disney movies. :goodvibes I agree, there should be dark ride devoted to the movie. That would be awesome!

Updates!
Guess what?! June hours are posted! So I went through them last night and figured out all the possible ADR schedules for us for when dad calls! AND our WDW planning DVD came! Even though I already knew everything on it...I still wanted to get it...and now...

Attraction of the Day...

Toy Story Mania

I can't say enough how much I love this ride! It just opened like two weeks before we got there for our '08 trip so we were excited to ride it! Here's a memory from my TR:

We decided to skip Fantasmic this year......yes, shocking, I know. It just was a really weird trip for us this year with everything that was going on at home and it was weird not having B/F with us since he's been quite a few times with us now. The second Fantasmic was going on and EMH's were starting so I got the idea that we should head back to Toy Story Mania and see how bad the line is because we loved this ride. The wait time said 40 minutes and we said "heck yeah we doing it!" The CM standing by the enterance kept yelling at people "The wait time is wrong! It's longer than 40 minutes! I wouldn't try it if I were you!" And we just looked at each other....:confused3 We walked in the building and around the corner to start the queue line and........seriously.......no one.....in.....line..we looked at each other as we were weaving around and walking straight through the first room and we all had the ":confused3 " confused look. We walked all the way up to a little line right before we boarded the ride. We were on the ride in less than 15 minutes! Let's just keep this a secret betwen us on here so no one else gets the idea!

:woohoo: for June hours! I can't wait to hear all about your park plans and ADRs! :cool1:

We've only been on TSM twice now. The first time we rode it, we waited in the standby line for about 40-50 minutes. My dad and uncle were being goofy and every time we turned a corner and saw how much further the line went, they'd go  and whine "How much longer?" like impatient 5 year olds. It was pretty funny! :rotfl2:

We were at Disney last year for my mom's birthday, and on our first night the CM at Primetime Cafe brought my mom a birthday button. As a joke, she wrote "Happy 21st!" below my mom's name.:rotfl: My mom was so embarrassed as she is... well... not 21 anymore LOL. When we got on TSM, the CMs working the ride got so into it, yelling "you don't look a day over 20!" and "Happy Birthday! You're finally legal!"... it was absolutely hilarious.:rotfl2:

That's such a cute story, Meg! CMs are so awesome. :goodvibes

Attraction of the Day...

Pangani Exploration Trail

This is another new one on my list to try this trip. I'd love to see any pictures, hear any stories...anything about this!

I don't have a particular memory of Pangani, but I  the gorillas. They are just so amazing to watch. It's crazy how human they appear in their faces sometimes.

And Pangani Forest trail...Ok on our 2008 trip we were watching the gorillas for a really long time, and some rude person threw a napkin into their enclosure while we were watching! Hooray for the gorilla getting even! Poor thing being fed napkins. :sad2: I'm glad he showed them who's boss! :thumbsup2

Oh yes. We are big KP fans.

Aw...Well I get her theme song in my head! :headache: Call me..beep me..if you wanna reach me..

The line for TSM is just incredible!

Someone threw a napkin in there?! Haha...the gorilla was telling them to kiss his behind!

:woohoo: for June hours! I can't wait to hear all about your park plans and ADRs! :cool1:

I will definately be posting my ADR's once we get them made...and then I can make more park plans! :woohoo:

Hey that's pretty good for stand-by! When we were there, it was always at least 80 or 90 minutes!

Attraction of the Day...

Winnie the Pooh

Okay..I know that's not the exact name of the ride..but I like saying what we call it. Okay so I love this ride. Especially the part where it's like you're bouncing with Tigger and then floating in the water from the rain! And...anybody who's ever been on it..knows that at the end it goes "And at last, the rain went away and everyone gathered together to say HOORAY!" Well...we always say this part out loud and then at the HOORAY part...we shout it.

I don't think I have any special memories from Pooh either. We've only been on it once in 2005. I was never a big fan of Winnie the Pooh growing up so it doesn't hold much meaning to me :confused3

Aw you weren't a big fan?! :sad2: Haha..that's okay, I still like ya! ;)

 Wait, we did love something! My mom never really liked Pooh so we never had the Pooh stuffed animals or watched the classic shows when we were babies which is what I was thinking of, but do you remember "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" on the Disney Channel in the mid-90s?!!! Mike and I would watch this every day before school... hearing the theme song is gonna make me cry, it brings back so many memories!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Do you remember this?!!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

For someone who "didn't really like Winnie the Pooh" I absolutely loved this show. And I actually completely forgot about it until right now haha!

OMG!!! Now I'm on a huge Youtube kick. I think I may have mentioned this before but do you remember this show!?!!!! Mike and I would watch Winnie the Pooh and then this every morning while we had breakfast before school! Aw!!!!!!!!!!!! That's why I love Disney so much, for all the memories :goodvibes:

So my family must rank up there in weird ones because the ONLY rides in Fantasyland that we have done as a family is IASW and Snow White.:confused3 I'm thinking we'll do some more this trip...:rotfl:

I love Winnie the Pooh. I don't know if I was a Winnie the Pooh fan when I was a kid, but when I was in middle school, Pooh Bear became very popular among all the little 12, 13 year olds. We had Pooh stuffed animals, Pooh coloring books, all sorts of things. So, he has a special place in my heart. Plus, I think it's cute to ride in the honey pot. Although, I will admit to missing Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Although, this ride terrified me when I was a kid. I wasn't scared of the Snow White ride, but for some reason, Mr. Toad scared the bejeezes out of me. I think on some level I didn't trust the tracks that the rides stayed on, and I thought my father was going to crash it. Heh. I was a strange little kid. I was also terrified of elevators, and whenever we were at a place (mall, or something) with an elevator, I would make my mother (loaded down with shopping bags and a stroller with my brother in it) take the escalator, because elevators terrified me. I've seen first hand how difficult it can be to maneuver a stroller on an escalator. I probably owe her some sort of apology for that.

Okay Mr. Toad's Wild Ride scared me too!!

Attraction of the Day...

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

I will never forget my first time at this show back when I was 4. The theater was packed and they just let people keep coming in, so we had to stand toward the back along one of the aisles. Since I was only 4, dad picked me up so I could see. I'll never forget the water coming down from the ceiling and those green laser lights to make it look like the ocean/waves. And when Ariel came out?! I was in awe! :goodvibes It's now a must for us every trip.

I was 4 the first time I saw The Voyage of the Little Mermaid too. It is definitely a must for every trip, no matter how many times I've seen it! After I saw it for the first time, I was determined that I was going to be Ariel in the Little Mermaid show at WDW when I grew up. I think my father is getting tired of me dragging him on it, but he'll live. Actually, we had a great time waiting for the show when we were there in September. I don't know if I had just never bothered to look, or what, but the queue room that you wait in before you go into the theatre is very cute, with all the nautical theming. :)

We yell "HOORAY!" too! I love that part as well as bouncing with Tigger. This one time during an evening EMH, the ride stopped right after we climbed into our hunny pot, and we were waiting to leave the platform. So we joke to the CM who's running the controls that he broke it and he'd better go fix it quick before the crowds get too vicious. (It was about 1 AM and the wait time was MAYBE 10 minutes.) :lmao: He was laughing and joking with us, and then some other CM comes out front from somewhere on the track, and we tell him that the platform CM broke it. By the time we got rolling again, we knew both their names and they knew ours. We let out a big cheer and a round of applause for our two new friends as we disappeared into the tunnel. Haha, it was fun, we enjoy interacting with the CMs a lot. :thumbsup2

OMG, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! I loved this show as a kid and totally forgot about it until now! I'm sitting here watching a bunch of the clips that are posted!

Does anyone remember the Disney Channel movie "My Date With the President's Daughter" with Eric from Boy Meets World? I just realized that the girl who plays Alice in "Adventures in Wonderland" also plays the President's daughter in that movie!

I  this show. I remember the first time we did it, it was SWELTERING hot outside, and everyone was just happy to be inside an air-conditioned building. When the mist came down on the audience, it was like this huge bonus! :rotfl2: A bunch of people clapped and cheered, and this one guy yelled out, "AL-RIGHT!" It was funny, and boy did that water feel good. :cloud9:
