Attraction of the Day...

The Magic Carpets

Okay so this is a general memory of every time we ride this..Sis ALWAYS makes sure she's in the row where you steer whether you go up or down...and she lines us up just perfect with the spitting camel. So everytime we go around and get closer to the camel...we all hold our breath and hope it doesn't spit! But of course, at least one of the times it does and we get wet! :upsidedow

I :lovestruc the Magic Carpets. This past time at WDW was my first time to ride them! My parents never let me ride Dumbo, because they say that it is for kids (I seriously haven't been on Dumbo since I was like 9 or 10), so I finally got them on the Magic Carpets this time. Although...does anyone else wish they would do an Aladdin ride similar to Peter Pan, Snow White and Winnie the Pooh? I really wish they would do one where you ride a magic carpet through the story of Aladdin. It's my favorite story.... :)

my favorite memory of the carpets is last year at the P&PP when we rode with anna, chris and luke. they had never ridden before and when we went by the camel it spit RIGHT IN anna's mouth! luke thought that was the funniest thing EVER in couldn't stop giggling the entire ride. :goodvibes i love the pics from that ride! here's the link if you wanna see. ;)

I haven't done the jungle trek.

But I do have a memory of the magic carpets. By 2 brothers and I went on in 2005 and they were sitting together and I was by myself in in the same carpet. Well we get going and I get hit with some water. It kind of shocked me so I jumped. I thought nothing of it though. Well we go around again and I get hit again. I ask my brothers if they felt any water and they laughed and said no. Well we go around again and I get hit again and my brothers laughed. I told them to show me where the button is that they are using to have the camel spit at me. They denied that they were doing it and I looked aaround and it seemed liek no one else was getting hit. I look down at the CM's in the control hut and they were laughing. I don;t know if they were controling it but I guess they were getting a good laugh out of me jumping everytime I got hit with the water.

Aw...poor girl!

I would LOVE an Aladdin ride. I could just picture going through the marketplace, the cave of wonders, then a big bust outta there, flying on the magic carpet, being a part of the big hooha parade to meet Jasmin, battling Jaffar...Oh! it would be awesome!:thumbsup2

The only ride like this I have ridden in this millenium is the Dino one at AK. Haven't done Magic Carpets or Dumbo. I didn't know the camel squirted water at you. That's hilarious!:rotfl: Geez...I didn't even know there was a CAMEL!

The Magic Carpets

I like the spitting camel.. its cute! :cutie: Also, this was the first ride DH and I ever rode together at MK.. on our first trip. We couldn't decide to ride the Carpets or Dumbo.. soo we decided on carpets because of shorter line.. funny thing is I didn't expect this to be very fun.. but I actually really enjoyed it.. :thumbsup2

Maharajah Jungle Trek

I think I did this.. but honestly don't remember. This time when we go I want to make sure that I take more pics of the individual rides.. so I can remember more.

Tower Of Terror

Well.. I've never rode this.. neither of DH and I.. I mean I would love to walk through the hotel and check it out and everything but I don't like the free falling- stomach in your mouth feeling.. it scares me.. plus, just watching the video online.. as its heading to the drop off point freaks me out. But I'm starting to feel like a baby.. especially if your grandparents rode it. How rough it is honestly?

Me, too. :thumbsup2 That would make a great ride. Let's get somebody started on that one!

Yes! We should start this, Volunteer Imagineer Brigade for Disney to get an Aladdin ride started.

Ok the Magic Carpets, I have quite a few memories of this. The most memorable being when we went on last year at the P&PP. We didn't queue for anything all night and then when we came to the Carpets it broke down and we ended up waiting for over 20 minutes. We only decided to go as there was no queue and we were trying to kill 15 minutes before the fireworks, it was just typical. We then had to race to catch the fireworks and ended up watching them from Frontierland.

Aw the Magic Carpets was your first ride with DH...

ToT is really not that bad. It always makes me laugh...the feeling of being lifted into the air as you drop..it's fun.

Me, too. :thumbsup2 That would make a great ride. Let's get somebody started on that one!

Hmm...let's see...my memory is from MNSSHP. So obviously at this party a lot of people dress up. When we were in line for the Magic Carpets, there was this man and his son in front of us. His son had the funniest costume...he was like the Grim Reaper or something. I don't know why but we just got a kick out of it! I don't know, maybe you had to be there but it was pretty funny.

As for Tower of Terror...it was one of the first times I ever rode it and even though I had been on it before it still kind of freaked me out. So when we were coming back to unload I was gripping the side of my seat and said "Oh my god!" really loud. A bunch of people laughed at me. Now it is one of my favorite rides and we can't miss it!

Oh jeez I need to catch up!! Let's see...

Magic Carpets-Ok this is a weird memory, but it definitely stands out the most! DF and I were seated in the handicap accessible carpet but for some reason there was no covering on the metal bar that makes the carpet go up and down, and the metal was all jagged...I didn't see that and I caught my leg on it and it cut my leg open! Right through my leggings and everything! It got swollen and was bleeding pretty bad, I should have gone to first aide but I was having so much fun because it was EMH and MK was empty that I didn't want to waste time getting it cleaned up :rotfl: I have a scar on my leg from it as a memory! lol

Maharajah Jungle Trek- During our August 06 trip one of the tigers decided to hide behind a tree and jump out at another one! It was so cute, it was like watching giant kittens play because they chased eachother around and were wrestling. So adorable!

Tower of Terror-My best memory of this ride was this past January when my mom braved it for the first time after years and years of sitting out by herself. She didn't like it much, she hates dropping, but at least she was brave and tried and it was hilarious to see her reaction :lmao:

Ok I think I'm all caught up now but let me know if I missed any!! :)

Haha...I bet the folks over at the HM liked his costume!

Haha. I love seeing people's first time reactions!

We've never done the Magic Carpets either!

Mel! Get on them!

I've never dont the Jungle Trek or the Magic Carpets...I stink at Disney!

LoL...you don't stink at Disney girl..you just haven't been there in awhile...but in April you will! AND next year you will!

SCOTT!!

LOL! I have a scar on my leg from TT! I was getting out and scraped it along the concrete there as you unload. It hurt!!

Aw I can't wait to see the tigers now!

Well I'm proud of your mom for trying it!

Updates!
Guess what?! June hours are posted! So I went through them last night and figured out all the possible ADR schedules for us for when dad calls! AND our WDW planning DVD came! Even though I already knew everything on it...I still wanted to get it...and now...

Attraction of the Day...

Toy Story Mania

I can't say enough how much I love this ride! It just opened like two weeks before we got there for our '08 trip so we were excited to ride it! Here's a memory from my TR:

We decided to skip Fantasmic this year......yes, shocking, I know. It just was a really weird trip for us this year with everything that was going on at home and it was weird not having B/F with us since he's been quite a few times with us now. The second Fantasmic was going on and EMH's were starting so I got the idea that we should head back to Toy Story Mania and see how bad the line is because we loved this ride. The wait time said 40 minutes and we said "heck yeah we doing it!" The CM standing by the enterance kept yelling at people "The wait time is wrong! It's longer than 40 minutes! I wouldn't try it if I were you!" And we just looked at each other....:confused3 We walked in the building and around the corner to start the queue line and........seriously.......no one.....in.....line..we looked at each other as we were weaving around and walking straight through the first room and we all had the ":confused3 " confused look. We walked all the way up to a little line right before we boarded the ride. We were on the ride in less than 15 minutes! Let's just keep this a secret betwen us on here so no one else gets the idea!

Oh dear! I'm so behind after my long work week!!

Attraction of the Day...

Tower Of Terror

I'm actually horribly afraid of heights, so the first time I rode this was only 3 years ago. My DF and I waited in line for 30 minutes, and I almost bolted about 60 times. I held on to the hand bars so tight that my hands were still white from no circulation for a good 20 minutes after we got off. Everyone in the elevator got a great laugh out of watching how terrified I was, though. Haha. I love this one now!

We did this when AK first opened and weren't impressed. But, I'm going to give it another try not that it looks more developed!

Attraction of the Day...

The Magic Carpets

I didn't tell DH that the camels spit water; so, I put him on the outside and did the shifting so he got hit every time we went around. And, everytime he kept going "SOMETHING keeps squirting me!! What the heck is that??" I still don't think he realizes the camel spits. We'll see if I can get away with it again this time.

Ohh; yay for June hours!!

As for TSM - DH loves video games and I very rarely play with him, so he was dead set on the fact that he was going to win this one. Well, I beat him somehow by over 100,000 points. He's so ready for a re-match and won't stop talking about how I somehow cheated!
