~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

Rather than going backwards through the line, he decided he'd just jump over the wall. He put one hand on it and hopped over, only he didn't realize how far down it was from where we were. We, along with the hundred other people standing in our square foot, heard the loud thud. He landed on his feet okay, but when he looked up from where he started, it was about a twelve (or more) foot leap! Luckily, he didn't break any body parts, since I believe that was the first day of our trip!

OMG!!! When I read the sentence "he decided he'd just jump over the wall" my mouth dropped because that is a HUGE drop!

Man I am behind..

Let me start with BTMR ~ best memory...this December when the baby "drove" it for the first time. He loves trains and getting in the front made his night. It was his first ride on the runaway train! :goodvibes

Soarin' ~ Again...this past December...getting my daddy on it! (Remember the whole trip he wanted to go find an orange grove?) When we soared past one I was like ~ DADDY!!! ORANGE TREES!!!! :rotfl2: My parents both loved this and that made my day! :)

AW that's so cute he got to "drive" the train! And I'm so glad you finally found orange groves for your daddy!

Attraction of the Day...

Dinosaur

This is one of my favorites at AK! When we're on it, I can never stop laughing because I'm little and I get jerked around so much! But...here's my story: We're on the ride...and we're almost to the end and the asteroid's about to hit and we're trying to make it out of there and you stop before that drop at the end, the big dinosaur head pops out at you, and the guy on the thing is going "They're not going to make it! They're not going to make it!" Well...right after he says that, I knew we were going to drop and the dinosaur head was going to pop out, so I was bracing myself...and the ride stopped. No sounds, no lights...pitch black. A guy in the row behind us goes "Well, I guess we didn't make it." :rotfl:

i didn't comment yesterday because i was in court all day and then went to see a movie last night and didn't get home until later. plus i don't really have a story about backlot tour anyway.

that's hilarious about the guy on dinosaur!!!

the only story i can think of with that ride is that the first time we ever rode it my expression was so funny that i decided to buy the picture. so i go up to buy it and the woman tells me it's $17. FOR A PICTURE?????? i think actually laughed. i felt bad because it's not her fault - she doesn't set the prices. needless to say, i didn't buy it. now i just take the redneck picture! :rotfl:

 Too funny! I dunno if I have any memories that stand out from Dinosaur... I guess just seeing my mom's face in the on-ride photo after our first ride was HYSTERICAL!

HAHA! Thats so funny!! :rotfl2: I love this ride as well! Everytime we ride this- I start out strong and then I'm hooked to my DHs arm.. as if its life or death. Whenever we get off.. I was like "that wasn't so bad" hehe my DH says he surprised I don't close my eyes like I do in scary movies.. hehe

Ugghhhh I'm behind! I hate schooooool! Anyway I kind of have a memory of Soarin', I only rode it once though. I remember waiting on line for years and years and thinking it was like a thrill ride where we would be in like a superman position and fly through California like that :rotfl2: Then I rode it and realized I was so wrong. lol

The Backlot Tour I know I've been on before but I have zero memory of it :sad2: We are DEFINITELY going in 2010 no matter what because I need to up my visitation of WDW since I'm obsessed with it lol

Have fun at your sister's game tonight :goodvibes

I also hate school! hehe It always takes up all your time and it feels like I have have time to myself! hehe

I always hang on to B/F's arm too!

Some teachers think we have no lives outside of school!

AND that you are only taking their class.:rotfl2:

I don't have any particularly funny memories of Dinosaur but oh, I love that ride! No matter how many times I've been on it, it always completely startles me and I scream my head off. I'm not a huge ride screamer but Dinosaur does it for me, not sure why? LOL. I get so into that ride.:lmao:

Too bad I'm not your teacher, because I totally believe in life outside school! Granted, mine are only third-graders, but I give about twenty minutes worth of homework (if they stay on task) a night - Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, they know their weekend assignment well, as I tell them on the first day of school every year - my famous 3 F's -family, friends, and fun!

What's interesting is that younger students don't think teachers have lives outside school.
They get a kick out of the fact that I go grocery shopping, watch TV, do things at church, and scrub bathrooms. :)

AND that you are only taking their class.:rotfl2:

I remember those days well. Just tough it out, and there will be an end to it as far as college goes. As a teacher, though, it continues on. I spent about two hours grading and recording Metro Math Assessments yesterday and another almost hour working on a presentation I have to give for a Social Studies deal at school. We've also got Read Me Week activities to prepare for, and on the heels of that we have to work a Math Night. A teacher's day, at least in our district, certainly does not end at 3:15!

At least once you get out in the work world, you are getting paid something for some of your efforts. Not the overtime you should be getting, but at least you are getting a salary.

Hang in there, girls! Trent moaned through his last year and a half of college, but he finally got his degree in December.

My Dinosaur memory is of the ride shutting down in one of the places where the jeep was bouncing up and down. We were sitting there jostling up and down and back and forth for several minutes. It seems like they could have shut that part off so we at least could have sat still while we waited, but they never did. We just bounced away, and we were very glad when it finally started back up.

Your experience of Dinosaur sounds so funny, I would have loved to have been there :lmao:

My biggest memory of the ride is when I went on it with my real Dad on my very first visit. It was raining so hard outside, thunder and lightening and everything and we looking forward to finally doing a ride (this was quite soon after the park opened so not many rides there, and I think Dinosaur was called Extinct or something too). So we were drenched and the queue was huge, and an hour later, as we finally got to the front, they stopped the ride, we couldn't blinkin believe it :scared:

Aw MeMom-I wish you were!

Haha, that had to be so annoying!

Attraction of the Day...

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

I don't really have a memory on Buz...but I do have a memory ABOUT Buzz. Everyone who knows me knows I love the people mover (TTA). Well, considering I've been on there 1,000's of times...I know the whole speil forwards and backwards. Well, we always say it with them...and one of the ones that always sticks out in my mind when we're home is Buzz's speil! "Citizens of Tomorrowland! Join Buzz Lightyear as he saves the universe from the evil Emperor Zurg...." :rotfl:

I have a few memories of Buzz, but not from WDW but DLP. Firstly Nick and I went to DLP's version of EMH's except when we got there only Fantasyland and Buzz were open for 2 hours, so we rode Buzz again and again and again. It was great fun but we got a little dizzy :lmao:. Then when we went to DLP at Halloween we got stuck on the ride for about 30 minutes. Nick and I refused to give up so kept shooting away, my hands were killing by the end but I knew he would keep going so I had too so my score wasn't too bad.

My hands always kill me!

Attention:::

To anyone that misses a day, please still go back and play catch up. I love to hear everyone's stories and I don't want anyone to feel left out!

Hmmm... Buzz? Honestly I'm not a fan of Buzz. We've skipped it every trip since they built TSM since I think TSM beats Buzz by far.

Although I have to say, if you asked my DM she would probably say her favourite thing about Buzz is that she beats me every time!!:rotfl:

I don't have any memorie of Buzz b/c I've never ridden it..BUT I remember riding If you Had Wings..the Eastern sponsored ride that was housed in the same building....I didn't know what to expect, but remember the end where you're plane is on the runway and you take off!!! REALLY cool.

Loving your attraction of the day! What a cool idea!

That's so funny about Dinosaur...just perfect! I've ridden that ride about 100 times and it still scares me. But it's tradition I just have to go on every time.

Going back to Dinosaur...

This ride made me feel like a BAD MOMMA! I knew it was a little scary, but I didn't know HOW scary. DS, then 6, was quite a trooper and managed fine and seemed okay through the whole thing. Even afterwards...but then I saw his FACE in the photo...:sad2: Isn't that horrible? I really want to ride this again, with or without DS so that I can enjoy the ride, because I was paying more attention to DS than the ride when we rode it.

As for Buzz...

I just KNEW that DS would LOVE this ride. And he did!:rotfl: It was the first ride we rode during am EMH. All three of us fit in the car, so we got off and ran right back around so that we could all take turns shooting and driving. We did it 3X in a row that morning. Such excitement! Later in the trip, DS got a really high score (I had researched where the high score targets were, and when I was driving I tried to help them hit them) and we bought DS one of the lanyard type laminated cards with his rank for a souvenir.
