Sorry I don't have a memory of Soarin' as I've never ridden it. Once we get back, then I will have a memory

I know you already know that he was able to take us into Soarin' through the exit area, with several other families that were getting the same little dream btw. And we were able to ride Soarin' about 5 minutes later!
Once we got on the ride, we were sitting in the front row and as soon as the ride started, he began to laugh. He laughed and laughed the whole time and when we got off, my mom had tears in her eyes. Previously my dad was kind of a Disney skeptic, and I know that right there in that moment, he felt the magic completely.

Ooo Soarin thats a hard one. I have only ridden it twice and nothing specific has happened. My greatest memory is probably just flying over Disneyland towards the end and feeling so excited about being at Disney and having my holiday in front of me.
The girl told him she didn't like that gum, and he said, "What are you talking about? You're the one who introduced me to it!" And he goes on to "remind" her of how she used to chew it all the time when they first started dating, and how he loved the way her breath smelled when they kissed and he just kept going on.
The whole time I was standing there going, "Dude. Shut up. Seriously. Stop. Now. Before it's too late."Because I knew what was about to happen....

After his rambling ended? The girlfriend says, in this totally stony voice: "That? Wasn't me."![]()
Don't worry I'll wait all day for the front row if I have to!! That's what I've been told to...![]()
Attraction of the Day...
Okay, I just got another brillant idea for a conversation starter while I patiently (not) wait for June hours to be posted and our 90 day slot to make ADR's...I'm going to start an "Attraction of the Day" and go through my list of favorite things that I recently posted. Each day will be a different attraction and Iwill post something about it like a favorite memory etc. And then, it's everyone else's turn to do the same about that attraction!

First of all- great idea!!! I have one that I got from facebook that I am going to do-but change the theme around disney!! This will be fun!
Today's attraction is....Big Thunder
Here's one of my favorite memories about Big Thunder: Back in 2001, we went my whole family-both sets of grandparents and all. From my '08 TR, you got to see Granny and Papa-one of the sets. So we get on Big Thunder, Granny and Papa are sitting in the row in front of me and my mom..the ride starts and Papa being the country boy that he is starts waving his arm up in the air yelling "Yee-ha" and stuff just to make us laugh. Well then Granny notices Papa doing this and starts yelling at him "Put our arm down! Put it down! You're going to hit it on something!" He doesn't quit. Haha. So the whole ride he's doing that, Granny's yelling, and mom and I are hanging onto each other because we're laughing so hard we're crying. Now everytime we go on Big Thunder, I have to do a "Yee-ha" at least once.![]()
Attraction of the Day...
My fav. memory about Big Thunder Mountain is when I went to MK with my parents the first time. We were waiting in line- and taking pictures on all the rocks and such. I don't actually have a great memory of while on it but I remember me, my bro, and cousin posing all funny and stuff. I was in 4th grade at the time.![]()
Soarin'
I guess my memory for Soarin' isn't on the actual ride-but in line! It was evening EMH's, and my B/F and I decided we wanted it to be our last ride of the night before we headed back to the resort. We got in line, which wasn't too bad! We finally made our way up to the big screens that used to have the pictures and questions. They now have the interaction game things where it's your shawdow or whatever. It was so funny watching all the people get so into the game. We decided to live a little and get in on the action. We couldn't stop laughing the entire time!![]()
when I went to WDW with my DH.. DB at the time.. for the first time.. and it had just opened the year we went and I never even noticed it, thought about it or heard of it.. that is until right after we got home.. and then I was likr WTHeck!! I didn't even know that was there!! hehe Soo.. ever since.. I've been excited about and DEF. plan to go this trip.. no matter what!! My DH actually doesn't think the ride will be fun.. but he will see!![]()
Since you have to work together to get the games to work, we were all smiling, laughing and talking as we played, and it was amazing getting to meet people from China, South America, Europe, etc. We were all in such a small space for so long that we all felt like lifelong friends by the time we got on the ride!
Attraction of the Day...
The Backlot Tour
So we're standing in line, waiting to go to the pre-show area where they have people volunteer to be "extras" in those scenes on that boat...and a CM comes out and asks the family right in front of us if anyone would like to volunteer! The guys in the family said yes right away! So they go with the CM and a few minutes later, we were allowed to proceed. We were in the front row and remember-we're right next to the family that volunteered. It was so much fun watching them react to everything the guys in their family did during the whole pre-show. They were laughing, taking pictures, telling them things to do, cheering for them...you name it! It brought a smile to my family's faces to see someone having so much fun!
You AND DH will love it!! Make sure to ask for the 1st row...even if that means you have to wait an extra turn! It's worth it.

Well, when we got to the part where the tram stops on the action film set and you get "stuck," I started having a panic attack. I was on the side closest to the set, and the fire effects were a little much for me. By the time the HUMONGOUS WALL OF WATER came rushing toward me, I was in tears.
I'll make sure we catch it in May, because the last time we rode was in 2003... and I don't remember anything particularly... memorable.![]()
My favorite memory of the Back Lot Tour actually comes from my trip with school in 2001. We all went on it together and all the volunteers for the show in the beginning were from my group of friends. It was HYSTERICAL to watch!
I totally forgot about that beginning part until these posts!I remember that there was something in the announcement made as we entered the canyon area that made DS think our ride was special and not everyone who rode it got the canyon experience!
Ugghhhh I'm behind! I hate schooooool! Anyway I kind of have a memory of Soarin', I only rode it once though. I remember waiting on line for years and years and thinking it was like a thrill ride where we would be in like a superman position and fly through California like thatThen I rode it and realized I was so wrong. lol
We are DEFINITELY going in 2010 no matter what because I need to up my visitation of WDW since I'm obsessed with it lol
I love talking to people in line. It's funny how by chance you end up next to someone in line and suddenly you realize how much you have in common. Plus, it makes time pass.
