~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

Haha that shirt is hilarious!

And BIL's pic is hilarious. Looks like he's in pain for something.

My favorite memory would really be just going on it for the first time in the summer of 2007. I remember it was the middle of the day in the middle of the summer and the line was nonexistant. My dad, Mike and I all walked right on and LOVED it! I took video of the whole thing and you can see my dad smiling and laughing the whole time. I love it!

That's so cool that you walked on in the summer!

On our December trip, I took the single rider line on EE. I ended up sitting beside a little girl who was probably... 9 or so? And she'd never ridden it before. She was super cute and so friendly- when I told her I was from Canada, the whole time she kept asking me questions about it. Even on the giant hill at the end... wanting to know if Canada looked like EE.:rotfl: At the exit, I was waiting to meet up with the rest of my family (they were all behind me in the single rider line) and we were chatting about her favourite princesses and rides and how it was her first time at Disney. Her father and sister finally called her to leave the gift shop and she gave me a hug as she left! It was such a cute, WDW moment.:wizard:

Aw that is so cute! I love making friends in line/on rides.

My first experience of EE was on our first trip and it was being built, but it was just at the stage where construction was complete and they put the US flag at the top (it has some kind of techincal term but I don't know what). But of the actual ride itself my biggest memory was from mine and Nick's trip last May. Despite having been on the ride a few times before, and knowing exactly when and where the yeti was, everytime we went on it, and everytime it popped out I screamed so loud. I literally couldn't help it, I tried to stop but it just made me scream louder. Nick was looking at me shaking his head like I had completely lost it, but I literally had no control :lmao:

Haha, how hilarious.

lurker alert. I usually find trip reports when they are finished, but you are not. Just saying HI and subbing.
The last year has been rough - I have had the same kind of things in the last couple years.

Can I put a challenge to you. Reflect on your year in review, and for every catastrophe write a special wonderful memory that you should hold on to. It might be good therapy for Tink.

Happy thoughts!

okay. i have a not-so-funny story about the first time i rode EE. as we came down the big drop i put my hands up and then when it curves at the bottom of the drop my neck snapped to the right and WOULDN'T GO BACK UPRIGHT for the rest of the ride. :scared1: finally when we slowed down it popped back into place. i was just picturing myself with a neck brace on for the rest of our trip! thankfully it was just a freak thing. it shows i'm getting old. :rotfl2:

here we are right before my neck decided to go crazy.

Well I'm glad you decided to de-lurk yourself! Please keep reading and try participating in my attraction of the day! I love stories! :)

I'm sorry that you've gone through some things as well. It's amazing how much the past year has been an eye-opener for me. I knew that I loved my B/F..but I never knew how much I could love another human being until the little guy was born. I was going to therapy all last year and on anti-depressants but now my therapist has me working myself off of them to see how I do. I've gone from taking them every day to every other day then every two days..etc...until my bottle is empty. It's been a roller-coaster. Sorry for rambling...

OMG that's so freaky! I would've been panicking about the rest of the trip too!

And Dawn.........you're NOT OLD!

Attraction of the Day...

Expedition Everest

Now for my story- This was from our '08 trip: It was our 2nd to last day, so it was our last time being at AK. Sis and I got fast passes and then mom and dad got fast passes and let us use them! So got on once and as we walking to get back on it, mom said "Look for us when you go up the hill and down the big drop!" So we did, and we found them both times and we waved. Well, as we pulled back into the station for the second time, there were CM's all lined up along the exit doors. As soon as we stood up, they announced that we were receiving a dream! Of course, it was a pass for us to use to stay at the park 1 hour later AFTER EMH's that night. So we couldn't use it-so as we walked, we looked for a nice looking couple and gave the passes to them. Hope they used them! :)

What a bummer that you couldn't use your only dream! But at least you got to spread some of your own pixie dust! That always feels nice. :wizard:

Here's my EE story: This past summer, my aunt and I got my uncle and my two brothers to go with us on EE. Only my aunt and I had ridden before, and we were psyched to be going again because it's one of our favs. Well, my uncle and brothers (who were 18 and 15 at the time) love to act all dramatic and scared when they go on new rides, even if it's something like Nemo. So as we were climbing the big hill, they all start whimpering like a bunch of babies.

DB18: Wow, this is going really high... I don't want to go high... (in screechy voice) is that track up ahead BROKEN? :scared1: *insert girlish scream here*

DU: What have you done? I'm an old man! Don't you know my heart can't take this? Oh no...oh man...you girls do this for FUN???

DB15: (quoting Dash from the Incredibles) We're dead! We're dead! We're alive...but we're DEAD!

The people around us were CRACKING. UP. :rotfl2: It was obvious all three of them were putting on, but it was still really funny. :lmao: Then, as we're pulling into the station they all let out these little whoops of victory for conquering Everest and DB18 says to the people in front of him, "I don't what the girls were so afraid of!" and gestures to me and my aunt. Like WE had been the ones freaking out on the hill. :rotfl2: It was great. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. :goodvibes

Attraction of the Day...

The Carousel of Progress

So everyone who's been on Carousel of Progress knows that it rotates as you switch scenes...well as we are starting to move to the next scene-it comes to a screeching halt-LITERALLY it was screeching and then came to a stop. So we were all looking at each other like what do we do now? And then....then scene that we had just watched started again! :headache: So everyone was like "GGGGGreat!" People started getting up and as they were walking someone came over the loud speaker "Please remain seated!!" So then after the scene was over for the 2nd time, we waited to start rotating and we weren't moving! :scared: So we had to watch the scene a 3rd time!!! By this time, everyone was saying the lines along with them and singing "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow shining at the end of every day...there's a great big beautiful tomorrow...just a dream away!" finally after the 3rd time, we started moving again!! Everyone clapped and cheered. But we held our breath after each scene and hoped we would start moving.

The Carousel of Progress just reminds me so much of my little sister, Sophie. She loves the ride so much (strange for a then 8 year old), and gets so over enthusiatic belting out the song as we go along. Its so cute.

Expedition Everest:
- On our Girls Only trip back last Christmas season, my best friend couldn't wait to ride EE. So, we decided to hit up Animal Kingdom the day we got there. I had joined a Pop fridge swap and the person who left the fridge for me also left some DVC fastpass cards that they weren't able to use. As soon as we arrived at AK, we went straight to EE and used the cards. I inserted the 1st DVC card and out popped 2 automatic fastpasses good for RIGHT THEN. I inserted the 2nd card and same thing! 2 more! WOO HOO! :woohoo: I then used our park tickets and we got 2 more fastpasses for later on that evening. We jumped in the fastpass lane to use our 1st set. As soon as we get to the broken track part and are about to go backwards, the ride stops. I told her that this happens and we should get going pretty soon. Nope. We waited about 20 minutes before we started going backwards. We get into the dark and it's a blast... until we see the Yeti. Our train stops again. For another 10 minutes. Finally we get moving and enjoy the rest of the ride. I told her that we should give it another go in about 10 minutes, in hopes the ride wouldn't break down again. So, after about 10 minutes we jump back in the line to use the 2nd set of FP's. SAME THING HAPPENS AGAIN! I figured that later on that night when the 3rd set would be ready, it wouldn't happen. It just couldn't... right??!? WRONG! WE GOT STUCK A 3rd time! It was hilarious.

Carousel of Progress:
- I remember taking Jake on this ride for the first time. (He was 13 months old) He was really enjoying it... loved the singing, etc! When we got the very last scene, he was ready to leave. He kept trying to squirm off of my lap until he finally did. The kid took off walking so fast that I had to actually get up and go chase him. I was so embarrassed!

Haha, that song does get in your head!

Aw, I bet he was so cute watching it for first time! It is a pretty long attraction for someone that young to be entertained....so I think he did good for lasting until the last scene! :)

HAHA OMG COP! that is so funny. I can't imagine listening to the same scene 3 times. OMG lol.

We went on COP for the first time in May and there was like 5 people on total lol. I was bored out of my mind lol. I'm glad I did it once and that is it. One good thing did come out of it. One of the CMs working the attraction was nice. He gave us some FPs for any ride in the MK.

After we got off Tim kept singing the song and then we heard the music playing in the park lol! I had heard the music before but didn't know what it was. Now I do lol.

It was traumatizing.

There is hardly ever anybody there!! Weird, but the day we got stuck it was almost full!

I don't blame Tim for singing that song...it gets in your head!!!

I've never done COP. I might have to ride it just so I know what song y'all are talking about!:lmao:

Same exact thing happened to us in December! It never got fixed though. We'd move then break again. I figured WTH....I started taking pictures of the thing. It was always one of my favorites and I didn't have a single pic. I took a dozen or so. The kids were so mad that we wasted so much "ride" time. Me and Sidney loved this though and thought this was one of those "fun" memorable experiences. :lmao:
