Our Honeymoon Redo! PTR: 11/15/15 - 11/20/15 - Trip Report Link!

11/16/15: 1st Full Day – Magic Kingdom

I want to start off saying I hope our SC friends are all safe and dry. The pictures on the news of Columbia and Charleston SC are awful!! If you are in that area, I’m sending prayers out for you and your family!

Now that my 5 days of ADR scheduling are over for our Spring Break Trip, I can switch my focus back to our upcoming November Trip. As of today we are 41 days away, well actually 40 ½ since we have decided to leave the evening before. However, we won’t actually be on Disney property until 41 days from now.

I’m also officially glad to announce I believe the Disney Doldrums have passed…the excitement and anticipation is back!! I started putting clothes off to the side that I know Keith and I will need for the trip and would rather us not wear between now and then.

Also I bought a nifty toiletry bag for our trip…not as cute as the pink one Billie got…I stuck to black since I will be sharing with Keith. J I also ordered 2 shirts from the Disney Store website for Keith for his bday that is coming up. I got him a Star Wars one and Mickey Mouse one. Of course while I was out there I bought one for myself (we shall see if it fits right). I will let you know once they arrive.

Ok, back to the planning. We are at our first full day at the Parks, and of course that day has to be spent at Magic Kingdom! MK has EMH this morning, so we will be taking advantage of those (I know some say that is a no-no but we are doing it anyway…lol). We will start making our way over to MK between 6:30-7am. I think we may opt to drive over there because of our night time plans (not to mention I have to ride the monorail or ferry at least once during the trip).

I’m having a bit of a struggle deciding what to do first. We were unable to get 7DMT FP’s for this day (I keep looking but no luck yet). According to TP we should head to Fantasyland first and hit up Peter Pan, I’m not against this idea actually because I would love to check out the new queue. It looks super cute, and this ride is always a must do for me at least once.

Here is the order recommended by TP:

· 8:11am: Peter Pan

· Ariel

· Dumbo

· Splash Mountain

· Thunder Mountain

· Pirates (FP 10:15-11:15)

· Jungle Cruise

· Haunted Mansion

· 11am: Lunch: Columbia Harbour House

· It’s a Small World

· 7DMT (standby at around 12:15, TP estimates the wait to be around 45 minutes long)

· Space Mountain (FP 1:25-2:25pm)

· PeopleMover

· Carousel of Progress

· Buzz Lightyear (FP 2:25-3:25)

· Liberty Belle Riverboat

· 4pm: Head to ‘Ohana!!!!!!!!!

The alternative would be to head to 7DMT first (with the crowds) and then go in the same order as above…heading to Peter Pan and so on. I ran this through TP as an option and it has the standby wait as 40 minutes first thing in the morning. I have a feeling Keith is going to want us to head straight there and do that one first. Our last 2 trips we watched this being built and we are both looking forward to riding it (I still refuse to watch any videos of the ride).

Anyone have any suggestions on our plan of attack? Overall, I’m not seeing any huge concerns, and who knows this all may go out the window when we get there and we decide to just wing it :)

I love the plans.. And i wouldn't change a thing!!! I love to plan and plan and plan.. once we get there? we just do what we see.. Unless we have FP or ADR!!! LOL!

Thanks, Mo! We will take the same approach...the plans are more of a suggestion list. I want to avoid getting there and getting into the whole "Well, what do you want to do?", "I don't know, what do you want to do?"....that is just wasting precious Disney Time!

I just reread this!! I am so happy for you and you LOOK WONDERFUL! whatever you are doing keep it up!

I'm not calling it a diet, more of a lifestyle change. Better choices and TONS of water (and less Coke Zero...though I love my Coke Zero, just limited myself to 1 day..if that).

Whatever works for you!!!
I just started having a Coke Zero. at wendy's they have different flavors of it.. and I LOVE THEM. I am not a pop drinker but once in a while it's YUM!
Keep up the great work!!!

Love it!! We are getting close!!

Shirts Arrived! :)

The shirts I ordered for myself and Keith from the Disney Store arrived. I ordered him 2 and 1 for me. I ordered a size up since I know they tend to run a bit small. My shirt fits fine...just wish they made them a tad bit longer, but overall happy with it. I think Keith's will be just fine for him, but he won't get to see them until his birthday (10/15...I'm so mean). However, I won't make you all wait so here are the new shirt purchases.

Mine!! The one on the left is from the Disney Store and the others are from a store called Torrid (they cater to us Pooh Sized Girls):

Here are Keith's new shirts, both from the Disney Store (yes, I know I have 4 new shirts and he only has 2 and I may or may not have 2 more on there way :rolleyes1). Hey! don't judge...I can wear them on our Spring Break Trip too (right?)!

Not a very exciting update, I know but it made my day having them delivered!

Did that just happen??????

I was just able to snag a Dinner ADR for BOG on our MVMCP night (11/19/15)!!!! It is scheduled for 7:50pm! Now I'm debating if I should keep it or not because I know that is right during our party. However, I have been dying to eat here (as you all know), and we do plan on being over to MK around 3pm so we will have a lot of time to spend there through the party (and remember our main focus will be the rides anyway). Ok, now to talk it over with Keith and then the sad part to decide which other ADRs I will need to cancel because we are trying to keep our TS meals to 5 and I'm currently at 7! I have a feeling Portobello and Tusker House will be our victims.

Here is my reasoning for it being those 2:
Portobello: that is arrival day and there are so many yummy QS in DTD to choose from, and then will have a bit more freedom to head over to DHS without having to schedule around our ADR.

Tusker House: We already have a character breakfast the next day at Garden Grill, and if I have to choose I would want to keep Garden Grill.

UGH...decisions!! ;)

Decision Made!

I told Keith about being able to grab a Dinner ADR at BOG on our party night. He was a bit concerned that it was going to eat into our party time, but we talked about how we are planning on getting to MK early that afternoon any way so we will have essentially 8-9 hours to enjoy MK that day (that is if we make it to Midnight). He told me to keep it because he knows how I have been trying to get in here for dinner. I'm beyond excited about this! I can't wait to see inside!!!

So, you all know what that means we had to cut 2 of our ADRs to get us back on track. We ended up cutting Portobello and Tusker House (don't hate me @Chicago Mo). Mainly for the reasons listed in my previous post.

I do like freeing up some time for us at DTD (errrr...I mean Disney Springs), and having a more relaxed approach. Not to mention that they have so many yummy QS options (or we can always grab a QS meal at CSR before we head to Disney Spings and grab some yummy snacks there).

I really hated giving up Tusker House, but it came down to choosing between that and Garden Grill. I've been wanting to eat at Garden Grill for so long, so I went with GG and cancelled Tusker House. I just now have to figure out a breakfast for us on that morning (11/18) because we have such an early dinner on that day at Sci-Fi...I know we won't to do a lunch so breakfast makes more sense. I might keep an eye out for an ADR on the morning of 11/18 at Garden Grill and then cancel the one we have on 11/49 and switch our AK/Epcot mornings. UGH...see what happens you make one new ADR and you end up changing everything. OR I could just leave it how it is! :)

Yet it is such fun to tweak plans, how can you not? And with just the two of you, and likely it will be less busy at BOG that evening, I think you will still have plenty of party time to enjoy.

I know I drive Keith crazy with all the tweaking of plans...he has just started telling me not to tell him anything because he knows it will probably change. :)

We took the kids to our local amusement park yesterday (definitely not Disney but a good substitute). We had a great time with the kids, but during the 3rd meltdown in line by our 3yr old we just looked at each other and knew were both thinking about how much were are looking forward to our trip where it will just be the 2 of us. I'm looking forward to that time with him, and just being able to go at our own speed and only having to consult each other about what to do next.

Please don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to the trip with the family in the Spring, but each trip is so different and Keith and I can really use this time for just the 2 of us. As parents do, we get so involved in the kids' lives and activities (which I wouldn't change for the world) but time for each other gets put on the back burner.

I looked at the calendar this morning and we have plans every weekend between now and our trip (except I think for one but I'm sure something will come up between now and then). It's hard to believe our trip is less than 5 weeks away!

Hi Gang! I thought it was time for another update, especially since we are 33 days away!!!! So, excited!

However, thought I would provide a quick RL update first. This past Sunday we decided to take the kids to Carowinds which is an Amusement Park about 30 minutes from our house. The weather was beautiful so we wanted to get out and get some fresh air, and we wanted to secure our Season Passes for next year anyway because they are the cheapest right now (they close at the end of October and open back up in March).

Now, Carowinds is no Disney but it is a good substitute and good practice for the kids to wait in line. Emma is great, she understands you have to wait, but Joey is 3 and very impatient so he had a couple of melt downs in line so I'm going to have to think of some things to keep him occupied in line at Disney for our Spring Trip. Luckily Disney Lines have a lot to look at which will help, but I might need to keep some distractions handy for him.

Overall we had a great day, and decided after dropping $50 on lunch for 3 of us (I bring Joey's food since he is on a Gluten Free diet) that we will be adding the dining plan to our Season Passes for next year. The Dining Plan there is a bit different then Disney's but still works out to be a good deal. Basically for an extra $85 a pass you can eat 2 meals in the park each visit for the entire season (they are open from March-October every year).

We visited Planet Snoopy first because they have some great rides for the kids, though Emma is just about to be too tall to ride them...LOL. In the meantime she is a good partner for Joey to ride with and she kept reassuring me that she would hold onto him tight (such a good big sister). After visiting Snoopy for a bit we went over and rode some of the bigger rides...well Keith and Emma did....Carowinds is not as Pooh Size friendly as Disney so I skipped those, not to mention someone had to stay with Joey. :)

Here are some pictures of the kids...it was a great family day and I'm glad we will have Season Passes for next year, especially since they are refurbishing their Water Park area in time for the season next year. That is where Joey and I hang out while Emma and Keith hit some of the bigger rides. :)

Disney Update: 11/17/15 Morning - Animal Kingdom

Honestly, not much has changed too much with this day. We still have the same approach with AK, we will be there at opening and I did not line up an FP’s for AK (using them at Epcot that afternoon/evening).

So, here is the suggested plan from TP:

· Safari

o I love riding this in the morning, the animals seem to be more active at this time

· Everest

o I’m still debating whether I will attempt to ride this or not. Last time wasn’t such a great experience…got really oozy on the backwards part. If I don’t ride it, Keith will just ride via the Single Rider line.

· Primeval Whirl

o Keith, DD and I rode this the last time and we had a blast. I have no idea why this didn’t bother me, but going backwards on Everest does. L I love this little area of AK, I think it is such a fun theme.

· Dinosaur

o So, this ride scares me to death. Last time I rode it I sat next to my Mom and I held onto her like I was 5 years old again. I’m sure I will be riding along with my eyes closed like I always do…LOL

· Lunch: Flame Tree BBQ

o This is one Keith is looking forward to because he loves BBQ. I’m hoping the weather will be nice enough to sit outside.

· Maharajah Jungle Trek

o I think this will be a good opportunity to walk off some of our lunch

· Pangani Forest Exploration Trail

o Still walking off food…LOL

· Festival of the Lion King

o TP has us getting in line for this at 12:45 for the 1pm show. This will be a first for both of us. Keith is not a huge “show” fan but I’ve been wanting to see this for quite some time.

· Kali River Rapids

o The weather will be a big determining factor if we do this…if it’s chilly we will skip it. As I have mentioned before, I’m not a huge fan of getting wet on rides and this one you can get SOAKED!! And I’m telling you with my luck…I will be the one that gets SOAKED!

That takes us to the end of our 1st AK day, and the plan is to then head to Epcot. I would like to work in a break back at CSR if possible (especially if we rode Kali River Rapids).

I will share our afternoon/evening plans in the next update...if I time these updates right it will last until we leave in 33 days!!!!!!

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love all of your plans!!!!

It's getting sooooo close!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!! :hyper:

Great plans! The day at the amusement park looks fun! Wow they have a really great deal on a meal plan for the season! I'd just go there to eat...LOL.

I am scared of Dinosaur too. It's not the ride itself but the content. There really isn't anything "fun" about it so I tend to just skip it. Haha.
I think your DH will enjoy FOTLK! It isn't just like a regular stage show, there are acrobatics, fire dances, trapeze, etc. It's fun and the music can't be beat!
If you can't ride Kali River Rapids, then try going to Rafiki's Planet Watch. You take a little train to get there, and it's a cute little area and pretty fun.

Thanks Billie! I'm really happy with how things are lining up for this trip. 32 days! Tomorrow I will be able to say we go in 1 month!!

Thanks! We really enjoyed our day at Carowinds and I'm glad we went ahead and got our Season Passes for next year!

DH loves Dinosaur so I will go on it, but I have given him fair warning there will be nail marks in his arm by the time the ride is over!

If we don't make it to FOTLK on this trip I will make sure I see it in the Spring...I know my Mom will go see it with me and my sister and DH and always take the kids to do something else while Mom and I watch it. :)

We checked out Rafiki's Planet Watch during our last trip...so cute. The kids really got a kick out of seeing all the animals up close!
