Our Fourth Visit: Starting Cheap and Ending with a Bang

This is my first trip report, as DH LostTree is the real travel planner of the family, so bear with me

This was booked as a get-the-most-out-of-our-annual-pass and get-us-out-of-the-midwest-during-the-winter-trip... so we booked a week at the Pop and intended to go cheap. UNTIL besties of ours announced they would also be in Orlando that week and we talked them into spending their last 48 hours with us on the grounds. These friends are not WDW junkies and we are anxious to win them over to the bright side, so...

We are now hopping from Pop to BWI for our last two nights (at which time, friends will leave their universal resort to join us at BWI) and dedicating our last full day to helping them fall in love with Epcot.

Us: DH, Me, DD (4), and DS (2)
Them: DH, DW, DD (10), and DD (5)

Suggestions for helping our friends get the most out of two days at Epcot/Boardwalk? We're pretty sure DME alone will turn them to devoted on the grounds WDW goers

I suggested to my wife that she write a PTR because our travel companions are excited to hang out with us at WDW but don't want to talk about it constantly. The DIS seemed like a good solution to our compulsion to talk about our vacation. We wanted to tackle this PTR/TR as a team since that's how we do most things in life.

It's my job to provide our plans, so here they are. We will arrive at Pop Century via DME early afternoon on February 5. We've been at Pop twice before and totally love the place. I can't wait for the lo mein noodles and DW and I are both eager for Greek salads. On to the details!


Our park schedule looks like this:

Sat Feb 5 (PM) - EP for some Tangerine Cafe which is nearly a first night tradition for us.

Sun Feb 6 - EP RD and then back for Garden Grill after a break. After dinner, I will be turning in my man card as we plan to take the kids to F! for their first time ever DURING THE SUPER BOWL (actually none of us have seen it during the SUPER BOWL but DW and I have seen it)

Mon Feb 7 - MK RD and then back to the POP early

Tues Feb 8 - Tusker House at 8:05 am and the AK

Wed Feb 9 - CP at 8:05 am, MK for a bit, BBB for DD4 while DS2 and I nap and then Akershus for dinner

Thurs Feb 10 - HS RD lunch at Hollywood and Vine with Manny and Oso or rest day

Friday Feb 11 - HS RD and lunch at H&V if we don't go Thursday, then check into BWI and chill at the scary pool (even if its cold, I'm trying the slide)

Saturday Feb 12 - Epcot with our good friends all day, dinner at Biergarten (it has Bier in the name!!!) nap at BWI somewhere in there, kids first ever Illuminations

Sunday Feb 13 - Up early, DME and home

That's the basics of our plans, DW will add more about the fun prep stuff in the next few weeks, I'm sure.
