Chelsea is 10, Kyle is 9 and Lauren is 6

We are staying at the Sequoia Lodge, we have booked 2 adjoining Montana rooms

We do not a have a must see/do list as such. We just want to try to see a bit of everything and get the most from the experience. This is our first family holiday EVER!!!!!

For me, just to see the kids with the characters will be awesome, as Chelsea and Kyle both have Cerebral Palsy, they are such great kids who have had so much hassle in their short lives, but continually draw people to them with their wonderful attitudes, that they truly deserve this.

Lauren is a lovely little girl who is a joy to be around, so again she deserves the disney experience.

Mandy has had a very hard 11 years with me being away working virtually non-stop since we got married (Soldier until 2000 then IT Consultant), so this was my chance to show her how much she means to me.

My only fear is, reading Rascals write up of last weekend, that the park is going to be exceptionally busy, and I am very protective of my children, so any pushing, shoving, rudeness is not tolerable - will need to be taking lots of deep breaths!!!!!

Seriously though, I am just plain excited now.

I really hope you all have a wonderful time, Ade! If in doubt, use the wheelchair as a battering ram!!! I would really hope that people will treat you and your children with respect!

Ade I'm sure you will all have a great time and I agree the Character inter-action will be the stuff of memories to feed you for some time
Make sure you have plenty of film/memory cards, video tape and spare/charged batteries

Disney make every effort to include people with any disabilities, conditions etc so I suggest you go to City Hall for a Guest Assistance Pass - you will be able to join a separate queue for rides, so hopefully the crowds won't be a problem for you.

Also I'm sure you'll love the Sequoia Lodge, especially at Christmas!

You are clearly a man of good taste choosing DLRP for your first family holiday!
Reading your post made me a little tearful - in a good way of course! Your family sound wonderful, and the CM's will make this Holiday as special as you all deserve if you get the Guest Assistance cards from City Hall as suggested.

How have you amanged to keep it a secret?! Please take lots of pictures, I can't wait to see all your faces!

I'm sure your lovely family will have a WONDERFUL trip !!!
I've always seen cast members to be very helpful with people in weelchairs ( I had my dad helped by Mickey himself to board " It's a small world" !!! that made our trip !)
and with the PASS you'll be able to do many rides - without any queue.
Yes, in busy times ... some people tend to be "rude" ...but I have also noticed much loveliness and respect in Disneyland !

Your kids will have a wonderful time !!!! and lots of hugs from the characters !!

Rhiannon, thanks for the advice , will make a bee-line for City hall as soon as we get into the Park. I seem to remember booking the Sequoia Lodge on the strength of reviews on this site, so I will be surprised if it isn`t wonderful

Keeping the secret is easy, once I had told Mandy, I didn`t feel like I was hiding anything, just treating it as an Xmas present.

I am sure we will have loads of Pictures ( If we are lucky most won`t be blurred)
