Our Family's 2nd Trip to Disney World-Pre-Trippie

Ok, so another lazy day at my house again so far. I did manage to straighten up yesterday before Bill got home from work :laundy:. I am taking my grandma out later today grocery shopping- so I will have to get in gear at some point :rotfl2:.

So now that I figured out how to post pictures (I still don't think I am doing it the right way because it has

So here we all are!!!!!! At our favorite place, the Magic Kingdom :wizard::cloud9::lovestruc

Our beautiful night picture during Tropical Storm Fay- back in August 2008.
I think it just may have stopped raining for this picture- gotta love that Disney Magic :wizard:

So since I figured out how to do this- there will be more to come from our last trip!!!

We stayed at Disney's All Star Movies Resort in the Dalmation section. Our room was actually right by the big Pongo. Austin was really into 101 Dalmations at the time so this was a must.

Inside our room- I had boughten this Mickey and Goofy at the Disney Store prior to our trip, had it hidden in our suitcase and had Bill place them on Austin's bed before we got in the room- and we said "Look what Mickey left you Austin!).

I am really missing this place as I post all of these pics!!!!

Upcoming in the next post- Crystal Palace character dinner!!!

I just started reading your PTR...have a lot to catch up on. Love what I've read so far. We are trying to make it back to the World in April 2010.

Okay the set up in this place was beautiful. The characters, the view of the castle from our seat, etc. The food wasn't that great, but we got some great pictures here:

This is when you first walk in- I LOVED this little set up :lovestruc!!!!

Here is Austin with Piglet!!! This is one of my favorites. They look like they are old friends!!!

Very pretty place on the inside. The characters really try their best to get around to every table and see every kid. They even paraded around the restaurant. CM's are wonderful in here. So if you are coming for the experience, I would say do it. If you are going for the food, thats another story :rotfl2:

Here is a picture of Austin on Cinderella's Golden Carousel. I love this picture- another favorite of mine :cloud9:.

I think that is all I will do for now. I am soooo happy I could get these pictures up for you guys to see. I have been posting all of these months without them, and I still managed to keep everyone on board so I must've been doing something right :lmao:.

Welcome !!!!

The more the merrier here. I am glad you are enjoying it, I will have to take a stroll over to yours :rolleyes1!!!!!!!

Okay, so it's 12:30 am and I am still messing around on here. Mainly because of the fact that I was just on AllEars.net looking at all of the dining menus in WDW:surfweb: It was totally making me hungry!!!

So, I know it is a little early (hey it's never too early to dream about Disney right :cloud9:?) but I was sitting here thinking about the places we are going to eat. We are DEFINITELY going with the QSDP- no if's and's or but's about it!!!!!:rotfl2: So, for those of you who are interested- here are my choices:

Magic Kindgom-
El Pirata y El Perico (have eaten here-love it!)

Pecos Bill's (never tried, but walked in back in June by myself during EMH night when the rest of my gf's bailed out and went back to the hotel- I will tell you guys about this trip sometime)

Cosmic Rays- (never tried, but looks like a yummy menu!)

Aloha Isle- (would like to stop by for one of those Citrus Swirls or Dole Whips- they sound sooooo good has anyone tried either :confused3)

Animal Kingdom-Flame Tree Barbeque- (Everyone seems to rave about this place, and the menu sounds delicious- I love BBQ'ed stuff!!)

Pizzafari- (went here on my June trip with the girls- It was absolutely adorable and the pizza was good)

Hollywood Studios-
Toy Story Pizza Planet (Love it Love it Love it- and we LOVE Toy Story! We went here last August- so adorably themed, and great pizza/salad!)

Epcot-

Liberty Inn- (Bill likes Roast Beef N' Cheddar Sandwiches, so I think we'll give this one a try- anyone ever been here?)

Cantina de San Angel- (never been here either- any suggestions?)

We will probably be doing our breakfasts at the hotel (we plan to go to Pop Century or ASMu). The rest of our meals that we don't eat in the parks, we are going to eat at the hotel- they have a great selection and big portions.

Lets just all keep our fingers crossed on the free dining plan nextaugust/september!!!:thumbsup2

Okay, I don't think my eyes can take much more, I am going to bed!!!

Cosmic Rays is great. You get huge portions of roasted chicken and it is very tender.

Aloha Isle - Dole whip float is refreshing on a hot summer day.

Flame Tree is very good.

Yay for the pictures!!!! Your little Austin is absolutely adorable. The picture on the horse is gorgeous! He looks super happy in all of the rest too!! I look back at my pics all the time as well and cannot wait to be back there. We were just....... happy for 8 days straight, no worries, just good times. No wonder Disney is so addicting!

Thanks for all of the advice- I plan on trying all 3 next visit!!

Thanks Pam!!!! I know it finally feels like an official trip report since I put the pictures on there :lovestruc. He was almost 3 the last time he went, and still remembers it!!!!! He was just saying today that he wanted to go back and ride the ToT!!!!!!!!!!

So I was sitting here reading more on the Give a Day, Get a Free Disney Day offer. We will be getting multi-day passes, so I wanted to know if there is anything in exchange for the free day pass and there is. You have your choice between the following:

1) A collective Mickey ear hat figurine with pins

2) A special fast pass for certain rides that can be used for up to 5 family members

3) You can donate it to Boys and Girls Clubs or some Canadian flight program.

I was looking at the different options in our area and seriously considering signing Bill and I up. Depending on what the figurine looked like, I think I would DEFINITELY choose the special fastpass!!!!! I'm not sure how many rides or anything that it is for, but it is a special fastpass- so any of you who do not like to wait in those crowded WDW lines, this is for you!!! Just something to think about if you already haven't looked into it!!!!

Love the previous trip's pictures! I have thought about the Give a Day Get a Day campaign as well. :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone!!!

Okay so I have some REALLY big news for you !!!!!!

I just booked our trip tonight :banana::banana::banana:!!!!!!!!!

I was getting nervous about rooms being gone (even though I know they won't be, but I'm just crazy like that :lmao:) I just figured the earlier I book, the earlier I have to start paying on it. Bill and I actually received a $200.00 American Express Visa Gift Card for Christmas with our local Mall's name on it. I always thought that we were confined to using it at the Mall- but no, you can use it anywhere that takes AMEX!!!! And sure enough it worked!!!!!
So, there is $200.00 off of my trip right there :woohoo:!!!

So here is my ressie:

Pop Century Resort 6 days/5 nights Standard Room
QSDP ( I booked this just in case I may need it for them to adjust it if they offer Free dining)
Monday September 20th, 2010 - Saturday September 25, 2010
5 day MYW base ticket (may add PH option later though, not sure :confused3)

We plan on taking a 6pm flight out on 9/20 because Bill will have to work that day (He gets off at 2pm). We will probably arrive at MCO around 8:15pm, hop the ME and arrive around 9pm (if not earlier :-) ). We do not have park tickets for this day because the parks will probably be closed or closing by the time we get there (unless when the park hours come out if MK is open till like 1am, then I will be adding the extra day for the extra 12 bucks!!!). So, we will probably end up just settling in our rooms, eat dinner at the food court, take a swim, or maybe go to DTD. We can start fresh the next day at MK!!!!!!!!!!!

So I thought really carefully about this plan incase free dining is not offered this year. If it is not offered, I will be knocking off 9/20 and 9/25 and just going for 4 days/3 nights non preferred. 4 day MYW ticket with park hopper, QSDP. That way I do not totally have to rebook my vacation, they can adjust it. And as long as I do it 45 days prior to our stay, they can do it without any fees. Hopefully I will not have to do this, but the good part is, I will know wayyyyy before our trip if free dining is being offered (most people are saying end of March/ beginning of April) :wizard:. I will not be booking airfare until I know for sure (Spirit Airlines charges out the you know what for flight changes :headache::mad:).

So there you have it, I hope you all are as excited as me (and Austin too- Bill just rolled his eyes and told me to book it and get it over with :rolleyes1). He was like "Great we just booked 6 days/ 5 nights 'Where Misery is Made'" :scared1:- if you read the beginning of my PTR you'll understand  He likes it, I know he does- he just didn't like paying all of that money last time to get rained on the whole time we were there. So we are hoping for some great weather and a ton of very magical memories :wizard:.

So, after booking- I went and logged onto my reservation, and where you can create your itinerary- it asked me if we are celebrating anything and I put Austin's 5th Birthday because he turns 5 about 2 weeks after we get back. So hopefully they make a big deal about it when we check in, and they have one of those little "Happy Birthday" pins for him to wear :cloud9:.

Please let me know what you all think of my plans and have a magical evening :wizard:!!!

That's great. I always like to book early and slowly pay it off.:yay:

Yeah it really is. It is awesome that the Disney company lets us do this- it is so much easier to pay on it slowly than come up with that big chunk of money at one shot! So many more people can take a vacation there because of this :wizard:. Are you and your family still going back in April?

Wow, that is super exciting news!! I can't wait to get mine booked too, it will feel much more official! Your plans look great!!! And what a great score to be able to use the AMEX gift card.

So, should I add QSDP to my ressie when I book too? If I don't will they have to rebook the whole if/when free dining comes out?
