Our End-of-the-Summer Celebration! *TR LINK ADDED!!*

Enjoying your PTR! Your NYC TR is great! I love NYC!

I visited Ground Zero a few years ago. Its so eery to see how quiet it is in that area with all the hustle and bustle of the city around.

Did you buy any fake purses?! :rotfl2:

Yes! I was amazed at how quiet it was! Cars, buses and people are all around and yet there is an eerie silence surrounding the site.

( I did buy a fake purse on one of my trips!! :lmao:)

Love the VB bag! I'm soooo tempted to go online and buy another one but I keep doing my best to restrain myself until my next trip gets closer LOL

Cute pins too! And the luggage tag came out so good! Crafty girl you are :thumbsup2

Thanks! You have a lot more self-control than I do. I am obsessed with VB. Thanks for the compliment on the luggage tag too.

Love the new Vera, I love the purple punch pattern. It is so pretty.

Loving your pins like always. I went pin crazy on my last trip and I even bought a set off ebay this weekend. :rolleyes1

I know, I was so excited when they came out with a purple pattern!

haha, it is hard to not go pin crazy. And ebay is dangerous too. Just another place to buy them from when I'm not even IN Disney World!

Enjoying your PTR! Your NYC TR is great! I love NYC!

Glad you enjoyed the NYC report! We are hoping to go back sometime, especially around Christmas.

Magical Memory #5

OK, so as promised here is my next Magical Memory to honor the 60-day mark. In my last memory I mentioned how our trip in Oct. 2006 was a trip of many firsts. One of our firsts was Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Getting to attend one of the hard-ticket events is pretty exciting but on our 2 trips last year we were able to go to the Pirate and Princess Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. All three of the parties were such a blast. It was so neat seeing all the exclusive entertainment and pretty much having the parks to ourselves! I know a few people on the boards have said that the parties were so crowded when they went but we never had that problem. We were able to get so much done in those few hours. It was also really fun to see how people got so into the parties. Particularly MNSSHP and the PPP, people would dress up in various costumes. I think my favorite costume was this little boy dressed up as the Grim Reaper. He had on this mask and black cape. Maybe you had to be there but it was too funny! Even at MVMCP people were wearing Santa hats and other holiday attire. Unfortunately they cancelled the P&PP for this year (hopefully they'll bring it back soon) but if you have never been to either the Halloween or Christmas one, I HIGHLY recommend them. Definitely worth the extra money!

And of course a few pictures/videos from each of the special events:

Kind of blurry but I didn't take too many pictures at the Halloween party. :sad2: Boo To You Parade! We all had the song stuck in our head afterwards!

I think we're going to do a group PTR for August !!:thumbsup2 Tammy, Disney Quilter and I! I'll let you know ! :goodvibes I love your Pics of NYC! We were there about a year ago for the St Pattys Day Parade! :thumbsup2 It's an awesome place! But I'm a Big City Girl myself! I grew up in Philadelphia! But New York Amazes even me! :goodvibes The Vera Bradley bag is great! I may get one for my trip! Did you order it from her website or somewhere else?
It sounds like you had a blast in New York! It's only about a 3 - 4 hour drive for me! I think I dont really remember it wasn't bad though!

I love the parties too! It's so hard to pick a favorite but I think I will have to say it's MVMCP for me. I know what you mean about the boo to you song in your head. It got stuck in mine too! :rotfl:

Love your new Vera bag and your luggage tag is super cute! Great job!!!!!

I subscribed to your group PTR so I can keep up with you guys. Bummer we leave before you get there. :guilty:

You grew up in Philly? We were actually just there too! Dad just had his Princeton reunion and we stayed in Philadelphia. We visited some of the historical sites and went to a Phillies game. I'm thinking about doing a quick mini-TR for that as well.

As for the Vera...there's a Vera Bradley store at the mall so I got it from there! :thumbsup2

MVMCP is my favorite too...I just love Christmas. At the Halloween party we went to it was really funny because the people standing next to us at the parade must've been locals or something...they were singing AND dancing along. :rotfl:

I love MNSSHP, want to attend MVMCP and really really hope that they bring back the Pirate & Princess Party! :upsidedow

MVMCP is the best, you need to go to one! I hope they bring back the Pirate and Princess Party too. :thumbsup2

I think you leave on my 2nd day there! I arrive on the 24th! EARLY! our flight is 7am I think you leave the 25th? right?
Yes! I definitely did grow up in South Philly! and funny thing is my Uncle went to Princeton! How old is your dad I think my uncle is like 59-60 not sure but around there! Probably a lil older then your dad.Definitely do a quick mini TR on that it will be fun! My SIL lives blocks literally blocks from the Lincoln Financial Field, First Union Center, Spectrum etc.......I'm glad you came over to our PTR it should be fun! What are your exact dates? Mine are August 24th - September 3rd!!

Your new bag is adorable, and SCORE on the discount! :thumbsup2

I'm not a pin collector or anything, but those are some really neat pins-very unique. I didn't even realize they had Cast Member pins aside from the 'normal' pins.

Your luggage tag is great too!! Very cute!

We've never done any of the hard ticketed events yet - possibly when Henry is older we will go to them though, they look like such a blast! This year when we are there in December (Dec 26-Jan 1), from what I read, we will pretty much get all the perks of MVMCP, but it will just be all day long. I hope that is true information-I would love to see it SNOW on Main Street! :goodvibes

I LOOOOOOVE that Poly "room key" pin! I don't do the pin collecting thing, but I want to get that one! Your other pins are awesome, too! I'm jealous of your VB bag. My VB duffle ripped (I've had it for 5 years, so thats pretty good!) and I want to replace it but can't pick out a pattern! You could totally make those luggage tags and sell them, I know I would buy one!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S 60 DAYS!

I wonder if they will do another PPP? I went to the very first one. (And the second...) And eventually a couple of more but those first couple were da bomb! We had so much fun! I hope they bring them back. :goodvibes

I wish you didn't post that Purple Punch Vera bag. I might just need one! :lmao:

One day I'd like to go to MNSSHP. Looks like lots of fun! :goodvibes

ETA: I love the new pins!

Hey, that is funny about your uncle! Do you know if he went to the reunion too? I will have to post some pictures/do a little TR on it. It was a lot of fun. I thought it was so crazy how Philly has all their stadiums in that one area but I think a lot of cities are like that. Definitely not here though!

Our dates are Aug. 20-25. :thumbsup2 I wish we were going for a few more days (but then again maybe I don't, who knows how the heat will be :rotfl:).

Thanks! I love the new bag and I'm glad I decided to go with the purple instead of another pattern.

I learned about the CM pins on here (of course!). Apparently there are certain pins that you can only get by trading with them.

Yeah, we've been there a couple times right after Christmas and last year we were there right before. I know they had Holiday Wishes and I think the day we left they started doing a couple showings of Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas. When we've been there after they've always had the parade so you should get to see a lot of the holiday stuff!

That stinks about your duffel but it did last a pretty long time! I definitely understand about deciding on a pattern. It is hard and they always have new ones coming out... Such complicated decisions.

58 days now, WOOT!!

I wonder if they will do another PPP? I went to the very first one. (And the second...) And eventually a couple of more but those first couple were da bomb! We had so much fun! I hope they bring them back. :goodvibes

I'm not big on Halloween but the party was a blast.

Definitely do one on the reunion! I'll have to ask my cousin if he went to the reunion!

Ohh those are cute pins! Thankfully I did not go pin crazy this trip, because that would have been too expensive.
In fact Aaron was the one one who actually bought a pin (and he used his birthday fun card for that!) but Josh traded for several.
I do not think I could ever get into serious pin trading because I would want to keep all the ones I like which is most of the ones we have.
Oh well.
Anyway cute pins and I hope you get the ones you want. You should try to get all the ones for hotels that you have stayed in.

Yup, I'll definitely do one on the reunion, that was one of the best parts of the trip!

Hey, welcome back! How was your trip?! I am about to head over to your PTR.

That is how I feel about pin trading too. I traded one in Dec. but that was only because I got a double of one I already had! Even the ones I don't like as much I don't think I could ever part with.

Hey everyone! So I don't have much Disney news to share right now on our trip. I am trying to get my other sister Claire to start a PTR because she's going on a trip (without me!). I'm not going to spoil any of the details...hopefully she'll start one soon and you guys can join in on that one too.

Anyways...since there's not a lot of Disney news for now I thought I'd do
another mini-TR from our trip to Philadelphia and Princeton. We went there at the end of May for a long weekend for my dad's reunion. Since we flew into Philly we spent a day doing some touristy stuff there and then drove to
Princeton for all the reunion activities.

When we arrived in Philadelphia it was early afternoon so we pretty much just drove around the city to see what it was like. We passed the zoo which I really wanted to go to (I love zoos!), but unfortunately it closed in a couple of hours so it wouldn't make sense to go. Oh well. We stopped by the art museum to see a famous statue...Rocky!

4243_593691799914_20305212_35060304_1677208_n.jpg

There were tons of people who would pose in front of the statue, including Dad. haha! It was also pretty funny to see all the people trying to reenact the scene from the movie where he's running up the stairs. We decided to just walk. ;)

At the top there was a really neat view of the city.
4243_593691809894_20305212_35060306_2710096_n.jpg

We also found the Villanova campus as we were driving around. Villanova is another Big East school like Marquette so we decided to check it out. It was a really pretty campus!

After that we just headed back to the hotel, which was right near the airport, to rest for the next day.

May 29
I'll try to keep this brief and just share some of the highlights:

Independence Hall
It was so crazy knowing we were standing in some of the same places as George Washington and Benjamin Franklin.

This is the room where the Declaration of Independence was signed. See the chair at the front of the room? It was the only original item in the room and George Washington actually sat there. Crazy!

This was another building we went into (I can't remember which one though). John Adams was inaugurated the 2nd president in this very room.

The Betsy Ross House...we weren't able to go in the house at all...I think every school in Philadelphia was on a field trip there!

The Constitution Center. This was a really interesting museum with a lot of interactive exhibits about the constitution. We also saw 2 shows there. One was called We The People which gave a history of the Constitution and then another one that dealt with the Constitution and contemporary issues like same-sex marriage, gun control rights, etc. Both were pretty interesting!
4243_593691964584_20305212_35060337_6444130_n.jpg

There was also a big gallery of statues of all the people who signed the Constitution.

Phillies-Nationals game. Being Brewers fans it was kind of strange going to another team's game but it was cool seeing the stadium. We did get teased by this photographer when he saw me and Dad wearing Brewers shirts. haha It rained for a little bit so we kept joking how we've been so spoiled here in Milwaukee with our stadium having a roof. Luckily there was an overhang so we didn't get wet at all.

COOL!!! I'M SO JEALOUS YOU WENT TO A PHILLIES GAME! It's supposed to be the most vegetarian friendly ballpark, lol! I never knew what Villanova looked like or where exactly it was, but it looks neat! My friend just DROPPED OUT of Princeton with a year left!!! Crazy, but he did have a good reason. Thanks for sharing these pics!

oooh I'm such a history nerd and I really wanna teach American History so that trip sounds really cool to me!

I saw a commercial on TV this morning and immediately thought of you...that Titanic exhibit is coming to NY! I'm so excited, I need to find out more info on it because I'm definitely dragging my BF there

Those pictures are too cool! They bring back many fond memories for me as that is the City where I grew up! And believe it or not my High School Graduation ceremoney was held at Villanova!
It was the biggest airconditioned place they could find! Can't wait to see more! :thumbsup2
