Our End-of-the-Summer Celebration! *TR LINK ADDED!!*

Only 70 days! I hope they fly by for you! Congrats with being done with school to. Are you going to be teaching at all over the summer?

SS looks soooo nice. I just heard that its a really huge resort. Did you find it hard to get around? I can't wait to own DVC one day :cloud9:

That resorts looks so pretty. Maybe we will find some time to visit on our upcoming trip. Congrats on school being over. How sweet for the little kids to get sentimental w/ their teacher.

You should visit it, especially if you are at Downtown Disney. Like I said, it's just a short boat ride away!

The kids were so sweet, I was starting to get teary-eyed myself.

Congrats on being done with school! :woohoo: These next 70 days are going to pass by so slow! I am ready to get back NOW! :lmao:We have to make a plan to meet up before too long. DisneyQuilter and Goofy22 will be there along with me. It's gonna be a pretty good sized Dismeet!

I am ready to go back too, I feel like I haven't been there in so long. :lmao::rolleyes: Have you planned anything with the other DISers yet? As you can probably tell from the itinerary I posted we don't really have any major plans set in stone. But we should plan something!

Yay for the end of the school year! :goodvibes

Another great memory. I want to own DVC someday!

DVC is great...it's so nice that our trips are kind of prepaid for now! :thumbsup2

I am not going to be teaching at all over the summer...I kind of want a break from it, though I am going to be working at the camp I worked at last summer and then I have a part-time job at the mall to keep me busy.

SSR is a really nice resort. It is definitely sprawling and some of the buildings can be far away from the Carriage House (where check-in and the restaurant/shop is). But I love it so much! It's also nice because each of the five areas has their own bus stop so you don't have to go to just one.

Happy Saturday everyone!

You may or may not know that I am into pin collecting. Every once in a while I like to check out the Official Pin Trading website to see what new pins are coming out. I went on there this morning and came across these resort key pins. I think they're kind of cute!

I like how the room number is the year the resort opened. :thumbsup2 Lately I've been collecting pins from resorts we've stayed at, so I may have to pick up a couple of these if they have any left (I just noticed they're limited editions ). I'd probably only get the Saratoga Springs one and maybe the Polynesian. Then of course I'll have to find another Wilderness Lodge pin!

Enjoy your weekend...we're off to the Brewers game this afternoon!

Awww love those pins! I know that if I started getting into pins I'd end up in severe debt because of them. For that reason I never buy any even though some of them are so cute :rotfl:

Ooh, those resort key pins are really cute! I'm definitely going to have to get the WL one.

SS looks like it'd be a really nice place to stay. I definitely want to try it out, at least once. I'm really hooked on renting DVC points now. Hopefully, DH and I will be able to become members once we're both done w/ school. :goodvibes

I like those pins! I'm glad you pointed out the room number was the year they opened because I was wondering why there were random room numbers on pins! :rolleyes1

I love those pins! I usually have good luck finding the limited editions ones on ebay. :thumbsup2

I did get a cute WL pin when I was there last year with Chip & Dale in a canoe, very cute and I saw it in May when I went too. :thumbsup2

Woo hoo for the end of school. :woohoo:

Another great magical memory too. ;)

It's weird being done with school because I was so used to going there every day.

Thanks!

haha, yeah, pin collecting can get quite addicting. And now that I've discovered buying pins on ebay... Though I really am going to try and stick to only buying pins that have some meaning to me now (like resorts we stay at, favorite rides, pins for the year, etc.).

I knew you'd like them. Why are we so crazy for pins?!

Yeah, I had to look at a couple and that's when I figured out it was the resort opening date!

I did check out ebay and they did have some on there. Not a lot since I think they just came out. I'll have to keep looking.

I remember seeing that WL pin when we ate at WCC. Wonder if they have any more...:scratchin

Saratoga springs looks such a pretty resort and i love those resort key pins, shame they are LE

Congrats that school is over!! We've been out a couple of weeks and it's been soooooo great!! Now you can focus on notin' but Disney!! :yay:

It is a beautiful, sprawling resort. I love that it's our "home." :goodvibes:thumbsup2 I was so bummed when I read they were LE pins...if I really want one I'll have to resort to ebay...or else ask my cousin to get one for me (she starts her professional internship today!). :rotfl:

Thanks! It is really nice to be done with school. I'm so excited that our trip is coming up so fast!

Joining in...finally!:woohoo: I'll all caught up (except your NYC trip, which I can't wait to read! :lovestruc)...loving all the magical memories, it's been fun to watch you grow up.

WL is AWESOME. I loved it back in November...so much so we have talked about when we are ready to add on to our DVC, we'll probably do it here! :thumbsup2

Yay, another reader! Glad to have you joining in. :) I'll be doing another magical memory tomorrow since we'll be at 60 days!!!:dance3::woohoo::wizard:

I think the WL is the thing I am most looking forward to on this trip. It's been so cool to stay at the different DVC resorts on our past couple of trips so it's exciting to get to try another new one this time!

OK! So here I am joinging your PTR and after I'm done 20 pages maybe Ill start one not sure yet! :thumbsup2

I read your NYC report this morning and ahhhh, I miss it so much! I used to live there. I worked on the edge of Greenwich and SoHo and spent MANY MANY lunch breaks sitting in the fountain in Washingon Square Park. I loved that you could sit IN the fountain.

You guys sure got a lot covered in your last day! I can see why you were exhausted and just called it a night in the hotel! You were all over the City!

My first real visit to NYC (before I lived there) was 6 months after 9/11 and I have a picture taken from an apartment building of Ground Zero. There was about 6 stories of rubble left. It was a moment I'll never forget seeing, very sobering...and then to see the area evolve over the next couple years before I moved there and what it is today. It's exciting to see something being BUILT there finally. :thumbsup2

I'm like you with the resorts, I always like to try something new! :woohoo:

:welcome: to my PTR! I still think you should do one for your trip too. ;)

Ohh, that is cool you used to live in NY. I don't know if I'd be able to handle living there but it was sure a lot of fun to visit!

Yeah, I'd like to know how much ground we covered because it sure was tiring. Still we had a blast. :thumbsup2

I can imagine seeing the rubble and that entire area was really moving. :sad2: But the new construction was coming along. I keep saying this but I wish I could've seen the twin towers in person.

Good morning DIS friends!

So today we are only 60 days away from Disney World!! :cool1: I looked at my ticker and it says 1 month (ok, plus 4 weeks ), but still. One month?! That is crazy!!!! Stay tuned for the next Magical Memory some time today. I thought I'd do a mini update for now. I bought my new Vera Bradley bag a couple weeks ago. :thumbsup2 I ended up going with the Purple Punch... just can't stray from my favorite color. Here's a couple pictures, and some from the inside so you can see what it looks like.

Cute, huh? And I only ended up paying about $15 since I got a discount and had a gift card as well. Not bad.

I also bought a few more pins on ebay. Like so many others I am slightly addicted. I tend to just go for the cast member pins since I don't really do the whole trading thing. It sort of stunk because I purchased the giraffe parking lot pin and the seller sent me the unicorn one at first. I contacted her and she was pretty cool about sending me the right one...I even got to keep the other one. :thumbsup2

So glad I found the TSM fastpass pin!

And lastly, a little project I made...on our trip in December, the airline lost my Disney luggage tag (I'm still kinda bummed about that). I was bored one day and decided to make my own! I just used some of my scrapbooking paper and went from there. I glued the paper to some cardboard and put packing tape over it to make it a little sturdier. What do you think?

100_4533.jpg

So that's all for now. Happy Father's Day!

Love the VB bag! I'm soooo tempted to go online and buy another one but I keep doing my best to restrain myself until my next trip gets closer LOL

Cute pins too! And the luggage tag came out so good! Crafty girl you are :thumbsup2

Love the new Vera, I love the purple punch pattern. It is so pretty.

Loving your pins like always. I went pin crazy on my last trip and I even bought a set off ebay this weekend. :rolleyes1
