I love that magical memory flashback! I looked into that same tour for this trip but I decided I had already spent enough money this trip so we passed on it.
So congrats on a spring trip! What are your tentative dates? We are throwing around the idea of a spring trip as well (I am planning on upgrading to aps in a few weeks so we are planning to make several small trips this upcoming year).
If we have overlapping dates we should totally plan a meet.
Anyway, less than a week until we leave for the beach and then just over a week until I am in Disney! Woohoo!

DVC is awesome! It's definitely worth buying into...if only we had done it sooner though!

The tour was a lot of fun. I think my sisters and I were the oldest kids there but we still enjoyed it.

We have a room booked for April 2-10 (yes, right after Easter!), though I don't think we'll use all those dates. But it's nice to have it blocked out. You should look into a spring trip! I'm so jealous you're so close to your trip. Have a great time!

Hey everyone! As we get closer to August we're starting to make a few more plans. We are not the type to plan out every single day and which parks we'll do. Usually we tend to see what we get done and then go from there! But we do have a few things in mind:

1. We did make an ADR for the Prime Time Cafe on Sunday. Dad said that they didn't have anything for dinner (neither did the Sci-Fi) which was sort of weird. We're thinking though it has something to do with Fantasmic that night so maybe a lot of people are going to have dinner at the park. Anyways, we got an ADR for mid-afternoon and we can decide if we really want to keep it.

2. My cousin leaves soon to start her internship. We are going to keep in touch with her and try to meet up for dinner at some place like the T-Rex Cafe or the ESPN Club.

3. We're still talking about going to Blizzard Beach too. Knowing what the weather can be like in August, none of our plans are really set in stone...we'll just have to be flexible and see what we get done.

OK I just want you to know that I have not abandoned you! I plan on spending some serious time to get caught up! I see that DCook is coming in July!!! I wonder if he's coming anywhere by me? I decided to go to the Idol concert in Pittsburgh which is only around 2 hours away from home and the tickets were cheaper/better! OK I'll be back when I catch up!

Thanks. I guess after going to WDW so many times we don't worry about every single thing we do. We literally don't decide what park we're going to until the night before.

I know, August does seem to be coming fast. Yeah, especially in August when there's probably going to be rain every afternoon we're not going to have any definite plans. Just have to see how it all goes!

Happy Summer to me!!

Today was the last day of school for the year. We had an awards assembly and that's about it, other than cleaning out desks, etc. I went into one of the first grade classes that I had been helping in a lot just to see what they were doing. Right before the bell rang the teacher started getting teary eyed. Then a bunch of the kids started crying because they were going to miss her. Aww it was so cute. One of the little boys gave me a hug and told me to have a safe summer. haha! I'm happy summer's finally here but at the same time I'm kind of going to miss
school. Ohhh well.

So along with school ending we're also down to 70 days until Disney World! It's hard to believe how fast it's coming up. I know I've said this before but I am really looking forward to the Wilderness Lodge. I keep seeing all these pictures on here, facebook, etc. and I can't wait to finally be there!


Like I mentioned a few days ago, we've got a reservation made for Easter week next year at Saratoga Springs. I thought it would be fitting for the next Magical Memory to be about our first visit "home."

Magical Memory #4

I guess I should start out with a little bit of history (I'll try to keep this brief). In 2002, we went to Disney over spring break. Since I was a junior in high school and college was right around the corner, Dad said that that was probably going to be our last family trip for a while. As you can see in my signature, that didn't exactly happen. We ended up going in Dec. 2003 after my first semester of college, again for spring break in 2005 AND winter break. After that trip in January we got home and Dad mentioned something about joining DVC since we still liked going to Disney so much. I didn't think he was actually serious but we ordered the DVD and started looking into it. Within a few weeks we were officially part of the Disney Vacation Club.

Then it was time to start planning our first visit home. Dad looked at the calendar and suggested we go in October of 2006. That was when Claire and I had a couple days off for Marquette's fall break and the following week was Teachers' Convention so Emma and mom could go down a few days later. Because we wanted to get an extra full day in Florida we skipped one day of classes (which I have to admit was kind of a thrill, even in college!) and flew out in the afternoon. When we arrived at the resort it was dark so we couldn't really tell what it looked like other than it was HUGE!!! At check-in we even got some of those 1st visit buttons for our first stay there. I remember that first night we took a boat over to Downtown Disney for a little bit since the parks were all closed (one of the cool things about Saratoga Springs...DTD is just a short walk/boat ride away!) It was a really humid night, which was a sign for things to come for the rest of the trip...Florida had record high temperatures that year on all the days we were there.

I could ramble on some more because it was a really fun trip filled with lots of firsts. In addition to our first trip home we attended our first MNSSHP and rode Expedition Everest for the first time. We were also there during the Food & Wine Festival.

Ever since that trip I've loved Saratoga Springs and can't wait to go back!

Congrats on being done with school! These next 70 days are going to pass by so slow! I am ready to get back NOW! We have to make a plan to meet up before too long. DisneyQuilter and Goofy22 will be there along with me. It's gonna be a pretty good sized Dismeet!
