Just back from a 10-day trip and wanted to share this.

This was our first "real" trip to Disney (others were just a day at one park...never staying overnight...never experiencing the magic) and I now know what these "magic moments" are that all of you have been talking about. We had several magic moments on our trip, but this one takes the cake...

Adorned in her brand new Cinderella dress that my DD4 had just received for her birthday (a $17 Walmart dress), we finished our breakfast with Cinderella and headed over to my DD's favorite ride, Peter Pan's Flight. While exiting the moving walkway, my daughter stooped down to retrieve the Pal Mickey my DH had dropped, when the back of her dress got caught and began to pull her down. My DH immediately ripped her dress from the ramp and the CM's instantly stopped the ride. (If any of you were stuck on this ride for about 10 minutes on the morning of May 29, 2005, around 9:15am, I am truly sorry!) :guilty: Anyway, feeling horrible that we had "broken" the ride, we were expecting evil glances and perhaps a speech on not wearing princess dresses on the rides! Our DD was sobbing and heartbroken over the shred of a dress she was now wearing. (She looked like the real Cinderella after the step-sisters demolish the gown the mice sew for her!) Imagine our surprise and delight when a CM brings her a new ($65!) Cinderella gown straight from "Tinkerbell's Treasures" in just her size! (That dress was so much nicer than the Walmart one!) We could NOT believe that Disney would do this! We felt like WE should be apologizing to THEM!! Disney made my DD a true princess that day and my DH and me believers in real fairies. :lovestruc

Thank you so much for posting your lovely moment in the park. I have all but given up on these boards as they have become a dumping ground for everyones unhappiness. This was so nice. :flower:

I love hearing stories like that! Thank you so much for sharing your princesses magical moment.

Disney...what more can ya say

Thanks for sharing that wonderful story!

Awww! What a great story, and what a great memory for your family to have!

ok - that one got me sniffeling. that was great. only at WDW. not to say that i wouldn't happen anyplace else, but i highly doubt it.

it is for reasons like this that i continue to work my tail off to keep returning to this place.

That's really wonderful of the CM. I think if I had been the CM I would have wanted to do that too, especially as your DD was so upset! I am glad that no one was hurt, and credit to the CM for reacting in such a positive way. Like you, I would be worried that I was going to get a lecture on wearing the right clothing!

What a wonderful story...thanks for sharing your magical moment! What a great memory from your trip!

This story brought tears to my eyes as well... I think the above posts have said it all - Only at WDW would this happen... I truly can not think of any other place that would have done something as magical as this!!! :goodvibes

Now that is a truly "magical moment" for your princess princess: to remember! Way to go for those CM's!

Brought a tear to my eye also. This is why love Disney. So glad your trip was magical! Watch out you might be hooked..... princess:

I agree! It's really nice to read about the magic that still happens & I'm so glad your family experienced it. :goodvibes

I do understand that some people come back from trips who had unhappy moments & feel the need to share those. Still, it's good to read that CM's are making magic happen & there are probably more of those instances than negative ones. Perhaps, they just don't get mentioned as often, although I wish they did. I said it on another post but it bears repeating....Thanks to all the CM's who do special, thoughtful things for guests. You are appreciated!

Wow!! That was WONDERFUL! Your post literally teared me up as I think of what that act of kindness meant to your precious daughter. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for all the nice responses...and you're right Magicmommy...I AM HOOKED!!! :cool1:

I was so shocked and overwhelmed with disbelief when all of this happened to even LOOK at the CM's name, but I did send a letter to guest relations praising them and telling them exactly the date and time this occured...possible they have a list of CM's names working at that given time so they will know who to give kudos to. :goodvibes

I love posts like this :goodvibes :goodvibes
It makes you feel so good to know that complete strangers will do things like this to brighten someone's day! Your DD will treasure that dress for a very long time I am sure!
