Hello everyone!

We are trying to plan our 1st trip to Disney (Myself, Wife, 4 y/o daughter and the in-laws) So 5 of us flying down. Our plan is to stay around 10 days if possible and we want to rent a house/condo (with 3 bedrooms) close by and rent a van/suv. Thinking we will do 5 days at Disney, day or 2 at Universal, maybe get a round of golf in, etc.

We have been looking at rental sites for months and there are SOO many places to look at it's very overwhelming. We found this forum and were hoping we could get some helpful info from anyone else who follows a similar plan when heading down to Disney. (The flights, condo/house and car rentals)

We are looking to go anytime between February 16 - March 2, 2011

Soo....does anyone know a great condo/house to rent in the area? A place you have stayed before or stay every time you go down? We would love to hear any recommendations or reviews of places you have rented and if you're not using them during those dates, why not us right? ;o)

Thanks to any and everyone who has taking the time to read this long boring story and we look forward to your replies.

Cheers!

Hi rocky, great to see you on this board!
You chose the right place to look as the members here have a wealth of information. Unfortunately I don't have this information as we normally hotel it or stay on site. Make sure you 'favourite' this thread to get emails whenever someone posts in it and you'll get the information you need in due time.
Good luck in your search!

Welcome! The only rental property I have stayed at is Windsor Hills but I thought it was great. It's a very short drive to Disney & has everything a good hotel resort would have, minus a restaurant. Try homeaway.com, Kissimmee area, Windsor HIlls resort. I'm sure you'd be happy with that resort.

If you go to the accomodations section of this board, you will find a separate section called reviews. There people post reviews of hotels/rentals they've used for WDW. You will definitely find Windsor HIlls homes reviewed there. It might be a good place to start.

I'll PM you the condo we have used at Windsor Hills, but I ahve had friends go there, on our recommendation, in different condos, and all were happy.

My parents/sisters etc all rented a house for Dec./Jan for our wedding. They are going through a travel agent. He books flights/cars/houses/and is taking care of our catering. Here is his info if you would like to contact him

We are staying at the Dreams Villas and their add is conveniently above this thread. :) They are minutes away from the parks and are owned by John and Kevin.

Feb 16 is the start of their presidents weekend and it seems to go on for the week, so you may want to look at the next week, lower crowd levels in the park.

We have rented villas twice now and found both of them on www.vrbo.com. One was in the Lindfields subdivision and the other in Indian Creek. Both were extremely nice and close to the parks! Good luck!

Hey CPC,

I tried to reply to your PM but it said I can't because I haven't placed 10 posts yet??

Thanks for your info and I am looking into it/contacting.

Cheers!

I can't recommend something we have stayed in cause this is our first visit other than a Wish Trip. We ar staying in a town home in Terre Verde. Awesome price, great reviews. Very excited! We are renting a van. Consider that when looking at properties, are you renting a vehicle?

We rent a house everytime we go as there is at least 10 of us and it makes it much easier to spend time together. The house we will be staying at this coming Christmas is called Castle in the Sky. We have not stayed at this one in the past, but it looks very nice and we spoke directly to the owner and she sounded trustworthy and proud of her home. Check it out, I don't think you will be disappointed.

We have stayed in a four bedroom home in Windsor Palms. It was close to restaraunts, a grocery store and not a bad drive to the parks at all.

Having a private pool to ourselves was also fantastic!

I can send you the link the the home if you would like it.
