Our 10 yr. old twins take on the World-For Spring Break. Update 05/19-The End

I'm in! I was there the 14th to the 19th so I'm interested to see if we were anywhere at the same time!

T-Rex Café

We had ADR’s for T-rex café tonight. After Animal Kingdom, we went back to our room and rested.

Our ressies were for 5:00, we decided to drive there, we didn’t know how long the bus would take to get us there. Cliff dropped us off while he went to go park. We got there about 5:05, so we got seated right away. The place was very busy, of course. We had never eaten here before, just at Rainforest.
DisneyWorld2010353.jpg

The atmosphere was about the same, but with dinosaurs instead. It was pretty cool. And, there were meteor showers instead of rain showers. The kids loved it all.
DisneyWorld2010049.jpg

It did take awhile to order, but we expected that. Cliff and I shared the Bronto Burger and fries, and the Footprints flatbread pizza (which was SO good). Matt got the kids sliders cheese pizza and Megan got the kids Rocksy’s pasta.
DisneyWorld2010050.jpg

It was loud in there, and really busy. Just like at Rainforest, so we knew what to expect. We really enjoyed our food, and just looking around at everything around us. Cliff and the kids looked around while I paid with my Disney Rewards card. The waiter said it could take 10-15 minutes to go through with my rewards card. I thought that was kinda weird. But, I told him to go ahead and try. He came back after 5 minutes with my receipt to sign. :confused3

When done, we walked around the store and got some pressed pennies done, and then walked around Downtown Disney. It was still drizzling a bit, so we put our cool ponchos on.

Cliff and Matthew went into the Lego store, where Matthew bought himself a lego set.

DisneyWorld2010064.jpg

Megan and I went to The World of Disney Store. I had been subscribing to a thread about the Dooney Bourke/Disney purses and thought they were just so cute. And, once I saw the black one with the Mickey’s on it, I knew I had to have one! So, we go to World of Disney, and there they are !
DisneyWorld2010194-1.jpg

DisneyWorld2010193.jpg

And, Cliff wasn’t around to talk me out of it. So, I purchase my Mickey purse! It was 210.00, but I used my Disney Visa and saved 10% !!!! And, I had them ship it to our resort, so Cliff wouldn’t see the evidence, yet! I have never bought a purse that expensive, but that was my one souvenir. (that’s my story, and I have stuck to it!)
DisneyWorld2010121.jpg

And, then Disney Robin was itching to get out of my purse, so she did a little shopping, too!
DisneyWorld2010051-1.jpg
DisneyWorld2010055.jpg

When Cliff and Matt caught up to us, I told Cliff about my exciting Disney purchase. Once I picked him up off the floor and sat him down, he was fine. Ha Ha! Surprisingly, he didn’t seem too concerned. He knows what a Disney freak I am, and that was what I wanted. Plus, I reminded him about a big purchase he made the month before, and all was well.

We next went to Goofy’s candy store. The kids made themselves a big straw of sugar! They wanted to be all hyped up on sugar, like Perky Polly. (um, Stacy)
DisneyWorld2010060-1.jpg

I got a chocolate covered pretzel stick, and took pictures of other goodies.
DisneyWorld2010058.jpg

DisneyWorld2010059.jpg

After that, we decided it was time to call it a night. We had a great first day at Disneyworld, and it was time to dream magical dreams……Tomorrow we do Magic Kingdom.

Up next: Megan does Bippity Boppity Boutique ……………………..

Great update! The kids sure look like they are having a blast - esp with all that sugar!! I've never seen one of those tubes - that should keep them up for a couple of days ;)

Day 2- Magic Kingdom-Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

We all woke up to a good night sleep. No interruptions during the night from Matthew or anyone else. We actually all slept really well the rest of our stay. The beds at CBR were very comfortable, and I slept well each night after that first.

This morning we woke up to dreary skies. The weather prediction was showers and 71 degrees. I just wanted some sunshine, is that too much to ask for spring break? We got up, got ready, and had our breakfast.
DisneyWorld2010152.jpg

I was getting my park bag ready, and I found a surprise! Tinkerbelle had left me a Tink pin on my purse during the night. I love surprises! Nobody had heard or seen anything during the night.
DisneyWorld2010066.jpg

This morning Megan had an appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the castle. We had bought Megan a Hannah Montana dress for today. And, she had all her necklaces, bracelets, and earrings on. She was styling today, ready for some glamour. WE were so excited. The appt. was at 8:40, so our plan was to be at the bus stop before 8:00. WE got to the bus stop at 7:50, but there were no busses coming around. A little after 8:00, 4 busses pulled up. I guess they started at 8:00.

We get to Magic Kindgdom, and they let us in because of our appointment. We got to go down mainstreet pretty much by ourselves. But, it was raining this morning, and we were running late. So, we didn’t get to enjoy empty main street or take pictures. Yucky rain!!

We got to Megan’s appt. about 5 minutes late, and she went right in. Megan’s Fairy God Mother-in-training was Amanda. Amanda was great, Megan really enjoyed talking to her.
DisneyWorld2010070-1.jpg

Megan chose the crown package, which included Shimmer make-up, hair, and nails. I believe the price was $54.95. And, Megan agreed to pay half. When Megan sat down Amanda asked her what kind of hair style she wanted.Megan chose Disney Diva, of course. Then Amanda showed the different hair pieces she could choose from.
DisneyWorld2010068.jpg

There was a photopass photographer walking around, and got some great pictures of Megan.

Cont'd next post.

Can't wait to see pics of Megan after she was done! What a great fairy godmother in training - Amanda sure enjoys her job!

LOVED your purse - oh my gosh - I would love to buy one (except my souvenir budget is more like $50 :rotfl2:)

There were a lot of little girls in there getting their hair done as princesses, and they were so adorable. It was fun just watching all of them. A few of the little girls had dropped their magic mirrors (the plastic shield they put in front of their face while the hair is being sprayed)
The second time a magic mirror was dropped Amanda said “Oh, that’s just Tinkerbelle, her office is right next door. And, sometimes she comes in and just starts trouble.” Loved it!

Amanda kept in character the whole time. And, just talked to Megan like she was such a beautiful princess. I so wanted to be in that chair, too. Another girl came around and asked Megan what color of make-up and nail polish she wanted. She could have chose the fake nails, but they don’t stay on long, so Megan got her nails painted.

While we were in BBB, Cliff and Matthew went on Space Mtn. and Buzz Lightyear. And, also got a FP for Space for all of us to use later.

When Megan was done, her FGM-in training sprinkled fair dust over Megan, while Megan made a wish. And, then the actual Fairy God Mother came around a see how pretty all the girls looked.
DisneyWorld2010071-1.jpg

When we paid, Megan got a bag with the rest of her make-up, polish, comb, and rain bonnet so the rain couldn’t mess up her hair.
DisneyWorld2010232.jpg

DisneyWorld2010231.jpg

Cliff and Matt met us at the castle. After admiring Megan we put on our ponchos and headed out in the rain. It was a very soggy day. We went on the speedway cars because there was no line at all. Well, that is the ride that really got us wet. All our bottoms were wet after that ride, and we did not enjoy it. After that Cliff and Matthew kept calling the speedway, “that stupid car ride”. Megan got alot of attention the rest of the day from CM's and other people just walking by. Most of CM's called her princess when they would see her. She just loved all the attention. :wizard:

We went on Space Mtn. with our fastpasses. We were not too impressed with Space Mtn., the one at Disneyland is so much better. You can actually see the tracks at WDW, it justs seem too light in there. We were on our way to toontown, to catch the train to frontierland, when one of the CM’s said it was suppose to start raining harder.

So, we decided to leave and hit the outlet stores and go to chic-fil-a for lunch. We could come back to MK on another day, hopefully a drier day than this!
We went back to our room and changed into dry shorts. I really can’t stand walking around in wet bottoms! We went to chic-fil-a (yum-o !) We went to the Outlet Disney Store and bought some souvenirs for family and friends. The outlet stores were packed that day, probably because of the weather.
We got back to the room about 3:00, and all four of us had a good solid hour of napping. It felt SO good. I’m glad we had that nap because it gave us lots of energy for a great night with awesome weather. (finally)

Coming up next: Chef Mickeys for Dinner and an unexpected night at Epcot.

No, I still can't believe I'd spend that much on a purse. :scared1: But, I do only get to WDW every five years.
(I have said that line many times) :guilty:

Sorry, guys. :rolleyes1
I wanted to post my latest installment, but we just got the blindside. :)
So tomorrow for sure, I will post the next installment.
Have a great Friday night, everyone! :surfweb:

Day 2- Chef Mickeys and Epcot Evening.

We woke up from our nap very refreshed and excited for our Dinner at Chef Mickey’s. I looked out our window to check the weather. Still raining, ugh. Guess we better take those lovely ponchos. Actually Cliff and Matthew had bought WDW ponchos that afternoon because they are more durable and covered Matthews sleeves.

We left the room, and Megan took a picture at our window.
DisneyWorld2010114.jpg

I had bought the window decals at dollar tree before we left. They were Easter themed, but they worked for our spring break trip.

We got to the bus stop about 4:30, for our 5:00 ressie at Chef Mickey’s. We probably just missed the MK bus, so we sat to wait for the next one.
DisneyWorld2010073.jpg

At MK we got off, and took the path to the contemporary. It was faster than waiting for the monorail, and it was just drizzling at this point. There were a group of teenagers walking behind us, telling each other silly jokes to each other. When they passed us at the Contempory, Matthew started telling me the jokes. He is Mr. big ears, so we have to be careful what we say around him. Even if he is acting like he is doing something else.

We get to Chef Mickeys.
DisneyWorld2010076-1.jpg

We checked in, they handed us a pager, then we stood in line to take a picture. We saw the picture later, and was 30+ dollars for a 5X7, and I think some wallets. Um, no. That was the price for one of our meals!

We were seated, Cliff and the kids, went and got their food. I saw Minnie coming around, so I wanted to wait till she came by. Cliff came back with his food, which looked really good. The kids got the normal kid stuff. Well, not Megan she had salad, green beans, tomatos, and Mac and cheese. She’s a funny eater. Matthew got the usual pizza and nuggets. Cliff got the shrimp and scallops salad, it was was really good. And, the bread was yummy. It was like a foccacia type of bread. Then Minnie came around.
DisneyWorld2010093.jpg

Once Minnie was gone Cliff and I went to the buffet. I started with the shrimp salad and bread. Yuuummmmm…….
Then Donald came around.
DisneyWorld2010080.jpg

Then I went back for my main courses. I remember the mashed potatoes were really good. They had prime rib, ham, salmon, and chickey florentine. Everything was very tasty.

Pluto came around and took a picture with us.
DisneyWorld2010087.jpg

Then Cliff went back for seconds or thirds.

We saw Mickey, but before he got to us, he started going around the restaurant dancing while we were all waving our napkins around. I don’t really know what was happening, because I was getting up to go back to the buffet. Then Mickey came by our table.
DisneyWorld2010082.jpg

It was time for dessert ! I started small with just a few things.
DisneyWorld2010081.jpg

Then goofy showed up.
A
DisneyWorld2010088.jpg

Megan got his autograph. When she compared his autogragh with the autograph she had from our cruise, they were exactly the same ! Wow ! Must have been the same goofy we cruised with. She also looked at stitch’s autograph, and if was the same too. That’s Disney for you!

Once we got our pictures with goofy, we all went back to the dessert buffet.
DisneyWorld2010091.jpg

DisneyWorld2010090.jpg

Those mini desserts were so good. I couldn’t finish what I got. So, I put a brownie in a baggie, and ate it later in our room with some milk. It was SO good!
I had put some rice krispy treats and a few other desserts in another baggie for later also. But, the bag security lady at Epcot smashed it up pretty good when she was frisking Cliff’s bac-pac. So, we didn’t get to enjoy those desserts. Bummer.
Once we decided we just could not eat one more bite, we rolled ourselves out of there. We had a great time at Chef Mickeys and were surprised we enjoyed our food so much. Especially, the desserts. Cliff was on a major carb overload from this dinner.

We looked outside and the weather still looked horrible. The trees were swaying like crazy from the wind. So, we decided to ride the monorail over to Epcot, and take a bus to our resort for the evening. It took a while to get on the monorail, because they were switching them for the night.

By time we got on the monorail, we passed Magic Kindgdom, and looked up at the sky. We could tell the cloulds had really cleared. We looked around and the trees weren’t swaying in the wind anymore. It’s like the weather had just cleared: no wind, rain, or clouds.:worship: We weren’t going back to our room anymore. We just passed Magic Kingdom, so we decided on Epcot which just so happens to have EMH that night.

We get to Epcot about 7:00, go through security bag check, where the CM smashed our desserts into one gooey mess. Thank goodness I had my brownie in my bag and was guarding it with my life from the dessert smashing security lady.

The weather was great. It wasn’t really that cold being that it had rained all day. It felt great, we were well rested, and on a major sugar high. We were ready for a night of Epcot fun!

First things first. Spaceship Earth.
DisneyWorld2010095.jpg

We hadn’t done this one before, and we really enjoyed it. Our videos at the end were so funny. I e-mailed mine back home to enjoy it over and over.
Next was the Seas with Nemo and Friends.
DisneyWorld2010098.jpg

This one reminded me of the Nemo Submarine ride at Disneyland. It was very cute. And, I love Chico. Oops, I mean Nemo.

We love Turlte talk at California Adventure. So, that was our next destination.
DisneyWorld2010100.jpg

And, Crush had a conversation with both Megan and Matthew. That is the cutest show, ever!

We thought we’d try our luck with Soarin’, and Yay, stand by line was only 15minutes. We were doing our rides just one after another tonight without any fastpasses. I think most people had gone back to their rooms by now because of the earlier weather.

We went on Living with the Land, and that was very interesting. We really enjoyed seeing all the vegetation that is being grown at Epcot. Wow, who would have known ?
DisneyWorld2010102.jpg

We walked over to check out Mission space. 10 minutes for the green side. Yeah ! Cliff had done Mission space in ’05, when it was only the orange side and hated it. He didn’t feel good after that ride at all. But, he tried the green side, and enjoyed it so much better. The kids and I thought it was a fun ride.

Now it’s time for “Test Track, baby !” (That’s what Perky Polly, um Stacy, calls it)
DisneyWorld2010111.jpg

The kids did this one when they were five and still rememberd it. That’s the ride they kept wanted to try again at Epcot. The wait for this was about 20 minutes, but still not too bad. They enjoyed the ride, but not as much as they remembered it. They thought it probably was more of a roller coaster ride.
By this time it was about 10:30, and we had done everything but Ellen’s adventure, but it was down for some reason. So, we would try to do it later. We decided it was time to head back to our room. We had planned to do Epcot the next day, starting with Future world and World Showcase in the afternoon. But, since we did all the rides tonight, we decided to sleep in the next morning. We would come back to Epcot at 11:00 and do World showcase and have lunch.

We had a great night at Epcot and were in great moods waiting for our bus to CBR. While we were waiting for the bus, I was reading the map to see where we would start the next day, and what food we may be interested in eating. I went over the whole map and couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t find what foods each country had to eat. For America, I knew it had to be burgers and stuff. So, I read America’s description to see what I could find. It said, “Liberty Inn-hamburger, huhn, salate. Fife& Drum- truthahnkeulen, bier”
Hmmmmm, why can’ t I find any food anywhere ? Finally, the lightbulb went off in my head. Um, maybe this map isn’t in English ? When I realized this, I started getting the giggles there in line. When Cliff was finally able to understand what I was saying, we laughed and laughed.:rotfl2: People were trying to ignore us. I looked at the map, and it was in Parkplan Auf Deutsch. I guess that means in Dutch, I still don’t know. I laughed so hard, the tears were coming! Maybe it was the sugar, maybe it was late, maybe I’m just a bit goofy.

The bus finally came and sent us back to our insane asylum, where we belong.
We fell asleep about 12:30 that night. We get to sleep in tomorrow morning! Disney dreamin’ ……………….

Up next: Day 3: World Showcase, Swimming at the pool, and Big River Brewing Co. (And, Matthew gets stabbed at Epcot)
