I do realize that it is more economical to use DVC points at a DVC resort but does anybody out there often use their points for rooms in the deluxe WDW resorts such as CR or GF? My understanding is that there are different inventories of rooms for point use vs. cash use and if so, can it ever be difficult to book even at 11 mos. out during the busier times of year? We often travel with grandparents and in such a case would want connecting (or at least adjoining) rooms -- could this be a problem? Reason behind all this -- I think the grandparents would like to feel that they have their "own room" (if we book 2)rather than that they are staying in "our room" (ie. a 2br villa). Thanks for any feedback on this!

There have been many topics about this and many opinions. Mine is always against it due to the value but many (MANY!!) love to do this and use it for what you are talking about: Concierge.

This will turn out to be a large thread with many varied opinions. The bottom line is this: Do What Think Is Best and Go With Your Gut.

That's what I do and I'm rarely disappointed.

Have fun :sunny:

Why don't you book at DVC resort a 2 bedroom lock-off. The grandparents could shut the connecting door and have their own entrance to their room without going thru your room. :sunny:

I hadn't realized that I could specifically request a lock-out. That's a good idea -- thanks!

At the BWV all of the 2BR's are lock offs. This would guarantee you that option.
