Other things to do on property instead of going to parks

I am proactively thinking about other things to do on property. Our typical Disney game plan is a day in the park, opening to closing...but I know our upcoming trip will look a little different in this Covid world.

All I can think of it mini golf at Fantasia and horseback riding at wilderness and of course our resort pools. (staying at SSR)

Anything other ideas???

You can eat up most of a day, or at the very least a busy afternoon/evening, at Disney Springs. Shopping dining etc. Ride the big balloon too.

Good idea with the horses at Fort. While there you can explore the campground and check out the new barn ("Tri Circle D Stable") they built for the horses. If I had a regret on my last trip it was that I didn't spend more time just hanging out at Fort Wilderness and doing more of their activities.

A lot of the DVC resorts have community halls with video games, foosbal, ping pong and/or pool tables.

There are tennis and basketball courts. Equipment can be obtained from the community hall CMs.

Bowling at Splitsville.

Blizzard Beach is reopening soon.

Movies on the lawn or beach at most resorts (schedule and movies posted at the resort). Bring your own blanket and snacks.

Bring books. Go To Grand Floridan and sit in the lobby. Read and take in the ambiance and the scent (it's very distinctive). Reading is entirely underrated nowadays. If you don't want a book, get magazines for the kids.

If you have the money, rent a boat for an hour (we did this, I can't remember the resort... maybe Caribbean Beach). Take it out and let the kids drive for a minute or so.

I had to take my wife to the airport yesterday and my GPS took me home in a horrible way, but it looks like mini golf is open.

Boat rental sounds good - will go research to see if they are still offering. I didn't see on the site earlier under recreation

They aren’t renting boats at this time. 😕

We are planning a non-park Disney trip over spring break(a stopover on the way to a wedding) and plan to ride surrey bikes, go mini golfing, pony rides, swan boats, visit the savanna at AKL, check out the Easter eggs at Grand Floridian, watch the Electrical Water Pageant with a Dole whip at Polynesian, ride the Skyliner, breakfast at Topolino’s... Our days are FILLED. A spreadsheet was definitely necessary.

For anyone reading this that wants to go check out the new Tri Circle D Stable, make sure you check their operating hours before you head over. They are fairly limited. We didn't realize that when we went over. We got there at 3:20pm and they closed at 3pm. :(

Double check with your resort to see what's open - none of the extra curricular activities (except movie under the stars) was operating when we were there because covid.

Ride the Skyliner, Lounge/Bar hop (Abracadabar, Enchanted Rose, the poolside bar at the Riviera), take a nice walk around the Boardwalk or from Poly to GF around to Contemporary - there’s actually a couple of things we didn’t get to do while we were there because we did o-c parks incl. Disney Springs.

Wait. Are the marinas open again? My kids love those mini speedboats.

This wasn’t at the marina. It was at the bike barn at fort wilderness. So they only had kayaks and canoes. Not other boats. But we did it a few months ago, so they are open.
