Other than attractions what is your favorite thing about Disney World?

My favorite (non attraction) thing about Disney World is...

At the Magic Kingdom walking down Main Street just as it opens so there are hardly any people... drinking a cup of coffee, looking toward the castle and hearing all the music as it plays down main street.... ooh almost forgot... with the smell of the cookies that Main Street Bakery pumps outside.

I love wandering around the World Showcase and thinking about visiting each of the countries. I have been to about 4 of the actual countries represented in Word Showcase and it amazes me what a great job WDW did recreating them!

It just seems to me as I read this thread, that being on property, as soon as I step from the cab at our resort, that I'm in Neverland. All worries and thoughts of work, miserable weather at home, home chores are gone for my entire stay. nothing anyone can say can ruin my vacation, if anything goes wrong its just a call to get it fixed, I do not have to do nothing for the whole time on property. Then when I walk into a park, especially the Mk, under the train station, i'm being transported back in time, when I was a little lad, and experiencing the world through a youngster eyes. So much to see, the smells are all mine, there to enjoy at my lesiure. Attractions are just icing on the cake, I could stand in the center hub if front of the castle and just grin all day. My wife has even said that being in WDw is like some transformation in me, I'm different, chatty, non snippy and willing to give it all a go.

Guess this is why we keep coming back, after 38 plus visits, the grin is still there, just shot off our reservation for September at WL, our home away from home and can't wait for that veil of wonderment to float over my body and enwrap me in the magic of Disney.

well said pepe...........i also love to see the resorts come to life in the early morning .one morning i was up and about at 5 am and saw a gardener deadheading the rose bushes at then dixie landings.

I love to be up early in the morning at sunrise, sitting on the deck at Poly, sipping a cup of coffee, and looking at the castle with a cool mist. *sighs happily*

This is definitely why I love WDW and why I need to get my fix about once a year (more if I can swing it!). That said, one of my absolute favorite non-park experiences is the smell of the Animal Kingdom Lodge just as Boma is about to open. The wood of the lodge, mingled with the incredible aroma of dinner and the fires it was cooked on - ahhhh.

I also love being anywhere at WDW early in the morning (though I'm especially partial to the Sassagoula River by POR and the rose courtyard outside ASMu's Jazz Inn). There's a sort of expectant quiet about the place - it's relaxed and peaceful for the moment, but there's a sense of the day's excitement just around the corner.

I love the way our family goes into a different MODE. Everyone is smiling, happy, and just in a very good mood for the entire two weeks. It's such a wonderful feeling!! No homework, work, and regular pain in the you know what stresses. That's what DW does for us. Everyone should experience that at least once in their lifetime. As the Mastercard Ad says "PRICELESS".

I love the smells, and the care and attention that goes into making WDW look as perfect as it does. The little things, such as the speakers in the 'rocks' always make me smile

Face it....nearly everything at Disney World is expensive. But what you get is FIRST CLASS in every respect. Disney knows how to do things and knows how to do things right. People are willing to pay top dollar to capture that MAGIC.

I love being cut off from the rest of the world for just a few days. I love the cleanliness of things. I love that it's all about enjoyment and relaxation in whatever way you choose (which for me means commando walking for 12 hours straight, LOL).

Watching people. The theming everywhere. The little details.

I really like to slow down, find a shady place to sit, and people watch.

I also like how fresh and clean everything is. A friend (who is also a huge Disney fan) just got back from a few days at Universal Orlando, and she was disappointed. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't neat-as-a-pin clean like Disney is.

I like just being there. It's so bright and friendly, and people want you to be happy.

My absolute favorite part of the trip is going through the gates that say "Welcome To Walt Disney World!!!" and we all scream. My family all likes Disney, but they aren't as enthusiastic as I am. As much as I love trips to WDW with my family, it's kind of like having my own little joy.

I love walking down Main Street at night when all the buildings are lit up, it just feels magical. And every year, I get teary eyed the first time I watch Wishes. We're going three times year so I can get my "Disney fix."

I agree 100% I feel like I have left reality and gone into my own personal fantasyland. No work, no school, no complaints, everyone is happy and for us, enjoyment is being on the go all day and night at the world! We wouldn't have it any other way!

My favorite this about Disney is.. seeing all the children smiling, mine included. No matter how bad things seem sometimes in a childs eye, the moment he/she steps into Disney everything goes away. Eyes light up and smiles come to life. Its amazing.
