I would spend my life doing laundry if I washed a towel after one use.

Two hand-towels, two bath towels. Both get shoved in the laundry every week with my bedding. Still not dead. Still not had any diseases related to dirty-towel syndrome. I use towels at hotels too :scared1:

I'm also a soap free *girl* because soap land me with problems if used *there*. There are lots of nice smelling feminine hygiene products available and I use a delicious Lush soap bar on the rest of me. I can't use bubble bath often, though

You're not a germaphobe, you're doing the correct thing.

I have read numerous articles (when they are discussing intestinal illnesses) that one must be VERY careful when handling laundry that includes underwear, dirty washcloths, and towels. They harbor the naturally occurring intestinal flora/fauna that we humans carry (e.Coli being one of them). You have to be extremely careful with underwear and washcloths, especially if they are used in "those" areas. You should use bleach and hot water, otherwise those bacteria can survive and can make you sick.
We have a front loader washer with the two hour sanitize wash. All towels, socks, underwear and sheet are done on that cycle. The cycle does not harm the colors. We want to kill that funky fecal material that might just want to hang on.

Your butt crack is a part of your body that is outside. Why should there be a problem with touching it? :confused3

I thought I already said.....I think it's gross. Not because I am afraid to touch any part of my own body, not because I am religious, I just think it's gross.

I do agree that buttcracks are not the part of my body I prefer (had to word that carefully because I really wasn't intending something innuendoey  ).

You are my new favorite poster today. Thank you for keeping me laughing!

And somewhere along the line, more than likely before you can actually remember, you were probably taught that it was gross.

Most people I know that have problems with this were taught it was gross. And most people I know that have no problems with this weren't taught that way.

But this has been my own experience.

I can honestly say that if it were taught it would have to be before I remember it but not because our bodies are gross, but that poop is feces and is stinky and gross. I do not like it and do not want it on my hands. However, knowing my parents........I doubt it. :rotfl2: It's just kind one of those things where when you're little you go hmmm it stinks and it goes into the toilet to be flushed away because it's garbage, so I don't want it touching me. LOL!!

I'm kinda feeling bad now, I also wash towels after just one use, every kind of towel, big drying off towels AND especially washcloths.

And as a sidenote...DH calls them cling-ons around Uranus instead of dingleberries :rotfl2:

*hope I don't get points for that* :scared:

Wow, has this thread taken off since I last checked it.:lmao:

Not questioning you specifically, Christine, but we do all this to super blast/sanitize these items, but what about the hand which is doing the "hands on" cleaning (pun intended)? :scared1: :rotfl:

dirty-towel syndrome.

Great something else I have to worry about!

LOL! me too! I use baby wipes after every poop! :lmao: :lmao:
Yeah!! Another adult willing to acknowledge their baby wipe use. (Flushable, of course :thumbsup2 )

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Cheerful, you owe me a new keyboard! I just spewed Diet Pepsi all over mine! Cling-ons!!!! Uranus!!!! Ohhhhhhh..:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I use a pouf and body wash.

Scrubbing your girl-bits and using soap in that region isn't a good idea; ask your gynecologist. Girl-bits are not supposed to smell like soap/flowers/etc, and that area needs its bit of good bacteria to stay healthy. Scrubbing with soap and douching kill the good bacteria and leave you susceptible to infection.
