Do you use a washcloth when showering?

Ok, I am the only hand user I see who dared to post an answer!! Where are the other 15 of you non-washcloth users??? Why are you letting me take the heat? :rotfl2:

I said that I sometimes don't use a washcloth. :rotfl: As a matter of fact, I didn't this morning.

soooo, Tig, does that mean that I can call you 'dirty foreigner' ;)

Actually, if I ever needed to come up with a new DIS username (not that that would ever happen :rolleyes1 ) I want to come back as 'Dirty Foreigner'. I think that it is just best to set expectations from the start :rotfl:

For those that soap up without washcloths or a shower puff, how do you get *ahem* certain areas clean?

I use a washcloth for *ahem* and shower gloves for the rest of my body - they are those little scratchy loofa style gloves and I love them for exfoliating/removing dry skin

I always liked Dolly Parton's explanation of how she took a bath out of a wash tub when she was growing up and lived in a cabin. She said: "I washed up as far as possible, then I washed down as far as possible. And then I washed possible". :rotfl:

Another scrubby user here. As far as the questions about how sanitary they are...well, I have been using them for years (not the same one, of course!:scared1: ) and I have yet to contract any bizarre diseases or unexplained illnesses.

Unless I'm getting ready to go to the hospital, I rarely use a washcloth. Once in a while, I get up too late for a long shower and just do a quickie, even when I am going in.

I do feel cleaner when I use one, though. I used to always use one. I'm getting lazier by the day.

Rarely. I used to use a loofah thing but not anymore. Maybe I'll start again. I heard they have bacteria though if you keep them in the bathroom or something. Oh well!

:wave2: OK, OK, I'll confess- I don't use a washcloth. I feel that you get just as clean without one.

Soaper here too. For the most part. I do have a mitt in there that I use to reach those parts of my back that my fingers can't quite get to...

I'm .... intrigued, mystified, and :scared1: by the comment about what do we soapers do about (ahem) certain parts of the body. What, you mean there are places on yourself that you consider off limits???

No, I use one of those poofy things...

Yeah... are you cleaning or wiping in there?

Nope, never have. Most of the rest of the world does not, and I know that when Americans travel in Europe we often hear about the lack of washcloths in hotels, unless they have significant American business...
Thanks for posting this. It reminded me of a question I had. I recently visited Germany on business. I stayed in two hotels there, not cheap ones either, and NEITHER provided washcloths. It got me to wondering: Do they simply not DO that sort of thing in Germany? Or did I hit two loser hotels? Thanks for confirming that that is just the way things are there.

I'd equate a poofy thing and a loofah with a washcloth. The fundamental difference, IMHO, is hands versus devices. I really don't care which I use, as long as I use something.

Back to the Germany story... If you are a scrubber, what would you do if you were me, and the hotel didn't provide washcloths? I refuse to answer on account of the fact that answering may tend to make me look too silly.

Something tells me that I just posted some tag-bait.

Which raises another choice; strong jets of water.... :rolleyes1
