I did my taxes with H&R block the lady said it was around a 2 week turnaround..
Is anyone finding this? Or what was your wait time?

Thanks

I've been sitting here with mine done.. rady to e-file for a couple of weeks...

I'm hearing it's appr. 11 days for a refund.

I used quicktax software. You then netfile and get your refund in about 6-8 days. Mine was 6 days this year. I used to use h & r block but changed to quicktax. I costs $40 to buy the program and you can do 8 returns. Much better deal then h & r block

It took around 10 days to get our refund which we had prepared by a local accounting firm.

Refund? What's that? :rotfl2: I can't even remember the last time I had a refund! :lmao:

I'm jealous though if you're getting one! ;)

You can also use Quicktax online and get a discounted price of $11.99 per return thru a link on BMO or CIBC website. Quicktax is so easy to use. Anyone with basic computer knowledge would be able to complete their own taxes and efile them. I received my refund in 6 business days.

I have always used UFile online and have always gotten mine back within 10 days, but I had it direct deposited. My husband wasn't set up for DD and the cheque took longer to arrive. This year we have an accountant doing it cause we started our own company last year.

Monday will be 3 weeks since I sent mine in. I am patiently waiting for mine to pay off Disney cruise!!!!

Haha jealous of what? A measly refund haha bc I bust my A$$ working almost full time with 2 little people at home on my own.. :) :rotfl:

Yeah, it was about 2 weeks....I used quicktax online and efiled....got our cheque in 2 weeks. Probably taking a bit longer now that it's at the end..... but it was quick!.... yeah disney money.

I filed with the efile option through quicktax. I got my refund directly deposited into my bank account. My refund was deposited in exactly 7 days.

I got mine in less then 2 weeks.

I also had a friend who files with H&R block. After waiting for over a month he called to figure out what was going on. The person who filed at H&R block made a typo in his address, so long story short, still no return.

Do you mind me asking what the fee was that H&R Block charged for doing your taxes?

We have gone to the same guy (accountant) for about 15 years and this year he up'd the fee quite a bit. We have been discussing the possibility of going elsewhere next year. I estimate the increase to be about 25%.

Dancing..Mine was over $100 but I had a whack of employment expenses so...:) I think they said reg returns were $57 maybe $59??? HTH

I guess I'm not that bad then....I'm self employed and he charged me $80. However, he charged my 19yo DD $55, last year he charged her $35.

We e-file ours as hubby is a banker and used to do taxes, and this year our refund was in our bank account 5 days later!

Good luck, Tiger :)

The tax guide says that electronically filed returns CAN be processed in as little as 8 BUSINESS days, but to wait 4 wks before calling for status (and all they could really say is "yes it's processed" or "no, it's not processed")
And that paper returns usually take 4-6 weeks.
But they say "usually" so these are only general guidelines, not guarantees--it could take longer.
But now they have this thing called Quick Access on their website, which you can check much quicker than calling in.

Last year I signed up thru their website for "My Account" (they had a 2step registration process, so it took a week to activate) and changed my bank info that way--it changed in their system right away (I called to check), and then I netfiled it. (I think if you file the return then change the bank acct info after, it might not "take" for that return's refund....something to do with timing, especially on those electronically filed returns.

Seems like I read somewhere (CBC website?) that more and more people are using software to prepare and file returns.

hee hee... I changed the Bank Acct so that any refund would go to an acct I don't use alot (just another to keep it alive).. that was my Disney money! Same thing this year.
