OT - Tampa Area Accommodations

We will be visiting WDW in late March early April and I was thinking of spending 5 nights in Tampa area. I would like beachfront accommodations. It does not have to be in Tampa, just around that area. I am also looking for a full kitchen or at least a kitchenette to prepare some meals. Any suggestions??

To be on the beach in Tampa pretty much means heading over to the St. Pete and Clearwater area. There are a few nice hotels in Clearwater, but I doubt they have kitchens in the rooms. The Don Cesar is probably the most well known hotel in the area, and a couple doors down they have their "Beach House" which are suites which have kitchens, etc. I stayed here years ago and it was nice, and the Don Cesar itself is fantastic. A friend recently stayed there and did a full review which you might find helpful here.

As the other poster said, you'll have to drive over to St. Petersburg Beach/Clearwater area to be on the beach. Tampa is just on the bay.

I've stayed at both of these and like them equally.

We have always enjoyed Siesta Key area. It's about an hour south of Tampa, but its a nationally acclaimed beach.

Also, that time of year is pretty heavy with spring training (end of March). If there are any teams that your Husband or yourself like, its always a fun afternoon at the ballpark.

We just recently stayed on Treasure Island. It is about 30-45 minutes from Tampa and absolutely beautiful! We stayed right on the beach at the Sunset Vistas in a two bedroom two bathroom resort. Full kitchen, dining, washer/dryer. We literally could go out of our room and be on the beach in a minute - our balcony overlooked the pool and beach. It was very clean, the staff was incredibly friendly, and we really loved our time there.

We stay in Pass-a-grille beach every year- it's peaceful and gorgeous there! Check out the Rhodes Suite or the Berkeley Beach House.
