OT Prayers desperately needed

Obviously the battle is not over so I will keep praying for your husband's recovery. And now yours and your DD's. It sounds like the doctors are staying on top of it!! You're fortunate to have docs like that.

Oh gosh Kristie ! Sorry to hear about your dd ! Hope she heals up quick.....and your back as well ! Hang in there !

Hi gang, jujst thought I'd update you on the latest happenings at our house.....You won't believe this, because it reads like a bad soap opera.. Welllllllll, on Monday some of DH's lab work came back and looks like he has MONO!!!!! Go figure! Never had a sore throat, enlarged lymph nodes, no rash. Just a huge liver on CT and pancreatic node involvement! So between the weight loss, jaundice, hemolytic anemia, and fatigue we were led down the path of believing that he had adenocarcinoma of the pancreas! Can you believe this roller coaster of emotions!

In the meantime, Rachael (DD) recovered from her pony trample and went on to pin in threee classes in her first horse show this weekend. Nonetheless, neither Mom or Dad were three. I'm still out with a blown disc in my back. In fact, Kevin and I are pretty pathetic. As bad as it gets though, we ARE getting better. And the best news of all was telling my kids that the Sept trip is back ON! Don't care if they gotta get me there on a stretcher, but we are going! DH is staying home, doesn't want to deal wiht the heat and the fatigue, but I'll take the kids with me and this way I can go to my meeting afterall.

I will never be able to express the gratitude and love in my heart fo all of you who prayed for us and sent such good thoughts. It truly was the only thing that got me through. I only hope that I can someday return the sentiments to each and every one of you! :grouphug: Many hugs from our family to yours! Kristie

Wonderful news. Continued best wishes and prayers as you all recover.

Bobbi :grouphug:

I know that you would enjoy more prayers but as far as i am concerned you are off of the critical :cool1: and my prayers are now going to be centered on the victims of Katrina. :guilty: :guilty:

Great news enjoy Disney. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Kristie,
Are the doctors treating your husband with meds, rest, or what? How long is the recuperation? Want to keep praying.
P.S. Bet you will REALLY enjoy WDW this time around! Congrats!
Jean

That's wonderful news! It's great to have some good news this week.

Keep us updated on your husband's recovery - I hope it's quick! And I'm so glad you know what you're fighting now, and it's doable. :flower:

Hi,

Pixie dust coming your way!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Hope things contiue to get better.

I've been wonderring how things were going. Thanks for the update! I will contnue to keep you in my prayers until you are both back ot full speed. Have a wonderful trip!

my prayers are now going to be centered on the victims of Katrina.

My sentiments exactly. It's so easy to wallow in your own pity party til you see the devastation these poor folks are facing. Their very lives are ruined. What is the hardest to watch is the coverage of the children who've lost everything. I know someone has already posted this, but www.redcross.org is one site accepting donations. My 5 yr old keeps asking "why does God make hurricanes, Mommy?" and I just don't know how to answer him. We are so fortunate. We have a warm home, clean water, and plenty to eat. I wish there was more we could do, but right now it seems like the best is to offer $$$. I don't understand the price gouging (ie gas and lodging) that some merchants are getting away with. They truly must have no conscience (sp?). How do you go to bed at night knowing you are capitalizing on someone elses misery. But that's a whole other thread I guess. Any how, I, too send my prayers now to where they are so desperately needed. Yet I will continue to thank God every day for each and every one of you!

I'm so happy for you and your family. It just goes to show you the power of prayer. We must now pray for our fellow Americans in the south and do whatever we can to help out with the devastation that has happened.

I stopped and prayed for you and your family.....hopefully this will be a time you look back on and say look what God got us through!!! I promise tocontinue to pray for you guys.

Just found this thread, and wanted to add my prayers for your family and all you're going through. This truly is a miracle. And I hope our prayers can help all the folks devastated by Katrina. I've been using a Port Orleans mug at work, so that I remember to send a little prayer as often as I can.

kristielee, Just so you know I believe this had nothing at all to do with being led down the wrong path and everything to do with the power of prayer and Gods healing. I am so relieved and happy.

Kristielee - I can feel the relief you must be feeling.
DH had his left kidney removed Aug 9th due to cancer. Going alone with DH the day he went in for surgery was definately one of the hardest days of my life. When I spoke to him a few days after we both felt great relief when he told me "Doc said they got it all and Im cured!"
He feels now like he has a new lease on life. Our family life is on the upswing.

Kristilee, am glad things seem to be levelling out. Mono seems to be prevalent this summer. I used to work as a CRNA too, but stopped to care for an ailing mom, which makes me sympathize with you for your back problems. I know all too well how painful they can be. Just walking (and tolerating the spasms) can be a real accomplishment.

But, despite the difficulties we face, just getting up every day and continuing on, one step at a time, sometimes is the best we can do. I always try to remind myself that God doesn't always give us what we want but He promises to never leave us and I've clung to that thought many times. If your DH has mono, you know it's nothing to be taken lightly and I know you're not, but it'll take months before he's back up to speed.

I'm just so glad that it's something that can be worked through and that your DD is on the mend also. Unfortunately, it's sometimes difficulties like these and Katrina that make us grateful for the day-to-day lives that we have. You're blessed to have family to depend on. Hoping things continue upward.

What wonderful news! I hope that his recovery is speedy. God works in mysterious ways. He tends to pull the rug out from us every now and then, and then shines light to show us the way. How kind of you to focus on the devastation from Katrina instead of your troubles. Pixie dust to you and your family and pixie dust to all affected by the hurricane trajedy.
